How can his hanging around be construed as selfish?

Hanging around to break Marino's record.
So. I think he is hanging around for much more than that. Why did Cal Ripken play for so long? Why did Emmitt Smith stick around three years past his prime? Why are Roger Clemons and Julio Franco still in MLB well into their 40's. I don't really care what the reasons are, if they still can compete, it's ok with me.

Favre isn't not one of my favorite player since he gave the record of Mark Gastineau to the homosexuel strahan..
I have never heard that before about Strahan. Do you know that for a fact? Is that public knowledge? I don't think so. Favre shouldn't have given him the sack record but that doesn't mean Strahan is gay!

Strahan's ex-wife alleged that he was gay during their divorce proceedings. Cited some sort of evidence, and Strahan moved in with a friend during that time (which proves nothing, of course, but it was fuel for the fire.)

I'm not denying Favre still has it. I was just answering your question.

Thanks Shogun. Doesn't prove anything but I at least understand Lumsdenpower's comment better now.
White Mike..you intimated that Favre hanging around to break Marino's record was selfish. Did you think Cal Ripken hanging around, never taking a day off to rest to break the consecutive game's played record was selfish? How about Emmitt clearly playing past his prime to break Payton's record? Just seeing how consistent you are, nothing personal. I personally don't think it's selfish to play professional sports as long as possible while you still can. The only thing that might interfere with that is if the athlete is not spending enough time with his family.Edited by: guest301
