Well, here we go again. A white player makes a bad play and he is immediately benched. This year more than ever recievers across the league have been dropping balls. NO ONE I know have has been benched for the ball-dropping epidemic. Enter white boy. This from a FF update:

The Florida Times-Union reports that Jaguars coach Jack Del Rio is not happy with Matt Jones' play of late, citing his two drops resulting in interceptions. Jones was replaced in the game by Cortez Hankton, who caught Del Rio's eye. "Obviously Hankton makes a great catch," Del Rio said of Hankton's 38-yard haul. "We've got to give him a few more reps and see if he's going to do that for us."

Well, Matt Jones may be the greatest combination of size and speed in the history of football, but Cortez Hankton (whoever he is) has something Matt can never have- the right skin color for the NFL. Anyone who watches NFL games can attest to the sorry state of WRs presently playing for all teams. Dropped passes are the norm, not the exception. Even the "best," like T.O., are constantly dropping catchable balls. When they do so, the announcers will invariably say, "boy, you won't see that often," when if fact, the viewer not only sees it often, he has probably just seen it happen a few plays before. The black player will usually just laugh it off and often be slapped on the back by his teammates. Certainly no black player has ever, in the modern history of the Caste System, been benched for dropping passes. If they did that, they'd actually have to play some white WRs, because they'd quickly run out of black ones. Adam Archuleta is beaten on a 20 yard pass late in a game and is subsequently benched, while his fellow safety, career thug Sean Taylor, is praised incessantly for playing the exact same way (of course, he can't match Taylor in anti-social and criminal behavior, which is a drawback in today's NFL). Now Matt Jones, a young #1 draft pick with an unprecedented combination of size and speed, drops TWO passes in a game and is going to lose playing time to an unknown and almost certainly mediocre black WR. If people can't see how clear the double standard and discrimination is in this case, there really is nothing we will ever be able to say to convince them.

The sooner Matt Jones goes to another team, the better off he'll be. Preferably New England because he's guaranteed to get a few passes there since Brady is second to none when it comes to spreading the ball around.

That's amazing. Every time I watch an NFL game I'm bombarded with blacks dropping balls. Should Matt Jones be criticized for the drops? Yes. Benched? No! This guy is a #1 pick, converted QB, 2nd year in the league, he has two drops and he's done I guess.

I really can't even fathom the tremendous amount of idiocy present in today's NFL.

BTW, there were seven dropped passes (2 by jones) in that game. No one else has been summoned to the bench. Overall, when Jones was out the performance of the Jacksonville recievers were dismal. The best thing Matt Jones can do is demand a trade and pout like all the other black affletes who don't get used correctly. How would Jones do with Mike Martz? That would be awesome.

Jones has great hands. He must have lost confidence if hes dropping balls now. I hope DelRio's 98% black team was a one year wonder and misses the playoffs this year.

Found this at Yahooconcerning last Sunday's game:"The normally sure-handed Jones described the day as "weird." Keep in mind that Jones is returning from injuries and hasn't seen the field that often in the past month, but the drops do not help towards establishing chemistry with David Garrard, who will likely remain the starter for the foreseeable future."

So, the normally sure handed Jones apparently has a bad game coming off of injuries and he's the scapegoat even though other players dropped passes. He's next in line for lthe Bill Schroeder treatment. I have read a few stories which seem to me the writers are trying to hype Garrard.

Jason Cole: "The Jaguars would be 3-0 with him if not for two interceptions which bounced off wide receiver Matt Jones' hands."

Well then, I would have to ask? What about the other interceptions and dropped passes? Did they contribute to the loss? Do the oher receivers get a pass? What about Garrards bad passes and picks?Only Matt's mistakes lost the game?

On a similar note. Last week Tom Brady was charged with4 picks and everyone talks about his bad day. I saw much of the game and 3 of them were off of deflectiions. In fact, he was driving the team down field to tie the game late in the fourth quarter when a nicely thrown ball went right through the hands of a receiver for a pick. So, who lost the game? Tom Brady of course. Sheesh.

Chris Collinsworth made a suggestion on the HBO show that there should be an official scorer in football, as there is in baseball, who would discern between interceptions from bad passes and interceptions from deflections. The latter would not count as an interception. Sounds fair to me.

Jones has to make those catches. He just has to.

One of Jone's drops was an outright drop. The other came as Jones was getting sandwiched between two defenders - contact was even made prior to the drop. It was a bad decision on the QB's part. To call the second pass a drop is a stretch. So, basically Jones is getting benched for one dropped pass.

Agreed it's really ridiculous .
Leftwich is overrated and had
trouble finding an open Matt Jones
and Gerard has also.
Only 1 of the 2 interceptions
out of 4!!! thrown by Gerard
were M. Jone's fault but announcers
blamed him for both
Jerry Rice wouldn't have held onto
the ball with that hit.
And how many times have you
seen Randy Moss or T.O have
a
ball go off their hands for interceptions and
the announcers
don't even criticize them. Randy Moss
is one of the worst in
the league at coming back to break
up a probable interception.

Last I would like to add
that a few black athlete's have
made
statements that they hit whites
harder in games which could
explain injuries. Again I'm not
saying all or even most
blacks do this but this could
explain more injuries to whites.
IF this is the case we need a
Bill Romonowski type to come
right back and hit the black
players who do this</span>
hard it works, both ways. WIlford (4.76 40 yard...slowest WR in
league) wouldn't be in the league if he was white he's a
possession WR who's much slower than Mike Hass (who ran a 4.5 and 4.58 at proday).

Why is Jack Del Rio wearing a suit tonight? I haven't seen that since Tom Landry was still coaching, but I won't dare turn the volume up on the TV to find out while those clowns are on!

The only Mike Jones I've ever known was a black guy in my hometown, but he never played football.

That reminds me of several weeks ago when I posted about Dwight Clark making a nice catch during the Colts game!

You weren't far off the mark. Jones didn't play at all in the third quarter.

It's hard now to have any optimism that he'll become a success in Jacksonville on the Caste System's model team. He had tremendous hands coming out of Arkansas, his confidence must be shot. It's sad right now the way things are going for him.

Col Reb,
Del Rio and one other coach, I forget who, petitioned the league to be allowed to wear suits. The NFL has a contract with Reebok, who supplies all the apparel for the coaches, the sweatshirts and stuff. So, Reebok made some kind of suit for the coaches to wear, and the NFL gave the OK. They said they wanted to wear suits to be more professional, in honor of guys like Tom Landry and others who wore suits back in the good old days.

Maybe I lit a fire under Matt.

Nice 49 yard catch and run right after a dumb off-sides penalty, the longest play of his NFL career.

Garrard's okay when he has time to throw. When he played last year he threw to Jones a lot less than Leftwich did. I don't think Jones will ever be the main target as long as Garrard is the starter.

man, i ask myself the same question as announcers... why doesn't he go to Shockey earlier! most of his catches come in the second half, 10 first half grabs to 30 second half catches on the season...

c'mon Eli, he should be your guy.

EDIT: Jeremy is the only Giant that showed up to play tonightEdited by: backrow
