How is this guy not getting the ball? Nothing surprises me these days. He makes a great run in the first half and then doesn't see the ball again. Is their a rule that white running backs must only get the ball on short passes out of the backfield?

Well to be fair, Howard was being blown out by halftime already.
I actually saw some sports writer complaing that Rice didn't get the ball enough in the game... can't remember where though.

Brian ended up getting a measly 8 carries. He had 30 yards running, with 3 catches for 16 yards receiving. Rice had 35 carries. How many times did Leonard get that many carries last year? I doubt even once.

Watched some of that Rutgers v. USF game tonight. Leonard is starting to look and act like a glorified lineman already. He knows his position in life and that position is to clear a whole for a superior black athlete. Go to his website and its clearly written. He'll bulk up to about 250 or so and be the second and 1 down FB.
He didn't seem to have much pizazz for running the ball when he did get the touches.

Mel Kiper currently has Leonard 20th on his "big board." Sounds great -- till you readMel's description: He will present the NFL with a tremendous amount of versatility, either as a traditional fullback or he could operate as an H-Back.

He'll be much more valuable in the NFL, as in his senior year of college, ramming his head into linebackers and defensive ends to open up holes for the traditional halfbacks.
We need a white running back or receiver to get drafted and then say screw the NFL ways and go play in Canada.

At best Leonard will be an Alstott, Brad Muster type role. If any team drafts him on the first day and they don't want him for that then they are clueless.......
the game vs Navy is almost over, Rutgers are winning 34:0 but Leonard has only 3 rushes for 9 yards and 2 catches for 23 yards... i would like to hang this SOB coach of Rutgers who is screwing him out of what could be his best season and possibly his pro career as well

beating week in and week out for Rutgers, while he is not getting any
money for it.
3) You have to "strike when the iron is hot". Leonard looked dynamic in
2005, scoring a whopping 17 touchdowns and displaying great skill as a
runner and a receiver. The lasting impression from his 2005 season was
he was an excellent all-around feature back, who could've sneaked into
the first round with an outstanding Combine. But by staying in school and
gladly accepting the fact Schiano has relegated him to a fringe role in the
offense, he leaves the impression that he's nothing more than spare part
and a good "team player".
You can bet if a Mike Holmgren type grabs a good "team player" like
Leonard in round 2 or 3, you can bet he'll run the ball only about 5 to 6
times a season -- and all those carries will come in the last minute of
blowouts -- and be out of the N.F.L. in a fairly short span of time.

I've watched a little of Pitt-Rutgers and that's exactly what's happening. Leonard gets an occasional touch but mostly he is hammering linebackers as hard as he can. No black back with even half his talent would ever be asked to block like that. What a total waste ofa great athlete.

Hester is now getting the same kind of treatment.
despite starting at tailback on Saturday night, he only got a handful of carries. he did have the ball thrown to him a couple of times, too, but mainly he lined up at fullback and blocked for the afaletic backs. in fact, nine RBs got carries. nine! what does that tell you about how they are gonna treat him in the future?!?

How many friggin more times am I gonna hear how Leonard is humble and is just glad the team is winning now. Oh these annoucers are drooling over his humility while easily accepting that because he is in a secondary role, that he is not as good a player as Rice. BS, ITS THE D&%$ COACHES YOU STUPID PIECE OF CRAP! They are the reason Rice is getting the carries, and why, because they would rather be PC and give it to Rice and discriminate against Leonard and embarrass him with a joke of a Heisman campaign than let Leonard run the ball. Its Caste taboo to let a white guy be your main runner, and when you have a team that is 75% black, you can't risk disrespectin' da brothers. Man, this crap makes my physically sick!
