When will it end?

Will the media's love affair with Michael Vick be shoved down our throats for his entire career, and then continued when he is elected to the NFL HOF?
Yesterday, according to Chris Collinsworth, who I had once heard was one of the few non-Vick ass-kissers, said that Vick (he of the awesome 10-22, 140 yards passing game) had "lifted his team on his shoulders, and carried them to the win"!!!!
I guess the Falcons defense had nothing at all to do with it, just Michael Vick.
Not to be outdone, USA Today puts Vick on the front page and runs their feature game story about St. Mike!!
(On a side note, also on the front page was a preview picture of a story on models, surprisingly enough showing a black model)
Oh yeah, and back to Mr. Collinsworth, he said in so many words that those who point to Vick's statistics as proof of his non-excellence, know nothing about the game.
Yeah, right Chris!!
I haven't had much interest in the NFL since they began phasing out the white players, I've more or less just looked at highlight shows to see what my fantasy players have done. But God, just doing that with the sound on makes me want to barf.
Michael Vick, give me a frickin' break!!

it did get a little better during and after last season but it seems that after every Falcons win SuperMike is back for some reason, even if he had little to do with the actual victory...

Yeah I saw the USAToday front page as I was walking by a paper stand yesterday and I just shook my head. I might have known it was coming.

I'm curious has anyone checked Atlanta's Team Rushing stats with Vick in the line up versus when he's not playing? How much of a difference does he really make? Trading away 100 passing yards for 50 rushing yards can't be that good of a football strategy even for an NFL supergenius coach-type person.

There just doesn't seem to be anything unique about Michael Vick, well except the hype of course. Edited by: Ta Waki Mumba

You can certainly check and compare the passing stats with Schaub in the line up in place of Vick. Huge difference in yardage and touchdowns for Schaub.
