When I was growing up in the 80's, there was a band called Agnostic Front, a hardcore band from NYC that was sometimes accused of being Nazi's, which was foolish. They have since come full circle and their newest album is titled in Spanish. Kind of sad because I have always loved music. To see an old favorite go that way is almost painful.

I have thousands of cd's, used to do a heavy metal/hardcore record label. But I also love bluegrass and some country, not that crap on tv though.

Wondering what you guys listen to.

I use to like Scandinavian death metal, but I grew out of it. Now I mainly listen to classical music. I'm also one of the rare people that enjoy polka.

Classical:
Brahms: The Complete Symphonies / Karajan, Berlin PO
J.S. Bach: St. Matthew Passion & St. John Passion
Richard Wagner (Karajan version)
Beethoven and Mozart (Karl Bohm and Karajan versions)
Grieg: Holberg Suite
Giovanni Pergolesi - Stabat Mater
Stravinsky: The Rite Of Spring
Bruckner (Karl Bohm)
Mussorgsky: Pictures(Karajan version)
Handel & Haydn (Hogwood)

I personally dislike Leonard Bernstein, and I recommend anyone other than him.

Other:
Russian Red Army Choir
Annbjorg Lien (folk)
Raison D'etre (dark ambient}
Garmarna (folk)
Bukkene Bruse (folk)
Hildegard von Bingen
Steve Roach & Vidna Obmana: InnerZone (dark ambient)
Rapoon: The Fires Of The Borderlands (dark ambient)
Edward Artemyev (soundrack)
Van Cliburn (pianist)
Anne Sophie Mutter (violinist)
HERR (neoclassical)

Bernstein was the Brazilian soccer player of conductors: full of flash, full of arrogance and full of himself. He was one the originators of today's flamboyant conducting style that features wild flaying of the arms that has less to do with setting the tempo and more to do with assuring that the audience pays as much attention to the conductor as to the music itself.

Elvis Costello is my favorite musical artist of all time. I still enjoy a lot of old '60s pop, especially the Beach Boys. I loved early Dylan (pre-motorcycle accident), the Byrds, the Band, Procol Harum and Roxy Music. I still enjoy Joni Mitchell, Randy Newman, Graham Parker and Jackson Browne. I also love a lot of VERY old music, like torch singers (Annette Hanshaw, Connee Boswell) and '20s-'30s early Big Band stuff, especially Louis Armstrong and Ted Lewis. I really like the Dixie Chicks, as well as the Indigo Girls. I am really into a lot of new Alternative stuff, like Avril Lavigne, Chantal Kreviazuk, Our Lady Peace, Simple Plan, Rubyhorse, All American Rejects, Lifehouse, Wallflowers and Better Than Ezra.

I liked the Dropkick Murphy's, followed them for quite a while, until they became John Kerry supporters. That pissed me off. There is a website I found recently called Paddyrock.com which has Irish-type rock and I've found some good bands there. If you enjoy a fiddle and banjo, with some guitars, you'll find lots of good bands on that site.

Always liked Slayer, but like bear-arms, I've grown out of metal some.

There's a metal band from the old days called Carnivore, that just kicked ass. The guy from that band went on to start Type O negative. Anyway, they weren't afraid to be politically incorrect in their lyrics. I appreciate bands who've got the guts to stand up. It's so easy to be an entertainer and bash the US or George Bush. Green Day are controversial? How? I like the bands that have the guts to go against the grain.

If you know of some like that, post 'em. I'd like to know more. Josh

Both A.F. and the Murphys are great bands. Two favorites from them are "Gotta Go" from A.F. and "Bar-room Hero" from the Murphys. However, I listen to some "other kind" of bands that I think many of you on this site would like as well.

Theres a band from Orange County called "Final War", and they're a pro-White punk/oi group. They ARE a pro-White band, but they tone down the racism in their lyrics to avoid attrating the wrong "attention" to themselves. Instead, they replace words like "ni**er" with terms like "scum" and "filth", but everyone who listens to them knows what they really mean. I refer to them the "White Power Pennywise" because their style, sound, speed and lead singer ALL resemble the band Pennywise. I have a few of their albums, and to be honest, there isn't a bad song on it. Google in "Final War: We speak the Truth", its a great album if you like good, fast, punk music.

Another band that I think many of you will like is "Intimidation One". They are similar to Final War, but they're a bit harder, and I'm not even sure they still exist, because the last time I checked their website, a notice was posted that it had been shut down by government officials.

Finally, if any of you are from Jersey like me, you might have heard of this band: Teardown. They sound like your typical Jersey-Hardcore band, but with subtle, racially-aware lyrics. The band was formed a few years ago from existing members of the "Blue Eyed Devils".

Most pro-White bands today seem to follow the pattern of "toning down" the racial slurs in their lyrics to, like I said before, avoid attracting the "wrong attention" (government, law enforcement, etc.) Because, apparently we are losing our right to free speech in this country!

Do you guys know that there are currently groups out there, whos' sole purpose is to make pro-White music ILLEGAL? But it's ok for every rapper and his brother out there to rap about hating and killing Whitey, right? That seems to be OK with these groups, because they NEVER attempt to try and ban them , only White bands. Well gentleman, it ISN'T OK with me.

But regardless, these are three of my personal favs, so check them out when you get a chance.

I think that's wise, unless the object is merely to see who can be the most hard-core. If the object is to make more young white people racially conscious, rather than being satisfied with being just a fringe of the fringe, then that shows wisdom, not just wanting to attract the "wrong attention."

I was reading recently of a New Jersey skin who was arrested in California after two blacks said he threatened to kill themduring an altercation outside a high school. Here's the skin:

The reality is that someone in this country who chooses to make his point of view that in your face is going to spend his life in prison, if he isn't outright murdered, no matter how innocent he may have been.

Most white people who have the potential of having their racial consciousness developedare too turned off by the hard-core stuff to be reached. Put another way, some whites can be awakened by a hammer shot to the head, but far more have to be brought along gradually through intelligent argument and persuasion.

Of the pro-white bands I have listened to, Berserker, which is no longer in existence, was incredibly talented. Also Shutdown and Fortress. There is some real talent out there, especially considering that they have to pursue it in their spare time as no pro-white bands can make a living through their music.

In another forum, I read something about a member in the band Teardown being a physicist. I wish I kept the article.

You probably could call him the Elton John of conductors also.

Indie guitar rock has always gotten me by. I liked hardcore bands in my
youth, even though the DC scene was full of egalitarians.

I agree with Don. The hardcore stuff is a turnoff and doesn't create any sympathy.

I am also a Christian and while this may sound cheesy I truly believe the Devil will tempt you whatever your beliefs, background etc. He knows the way to get at you. Hard not to fall into the trap of hate, because EVERYONE has a reason to hate, but the Devil doesn't care why, he just wants to bring you down.
And that's why, even though I liked some of the bands like Skrewdriver, Shutdown etc years ago, I had to stop listening to them.

However, there was an English band called Skullhead from a while back. Their lyrics weren't hateful at all, from the two albums I had, but more proud of who you are.
And that's the kind of music I am looking for.

There was a NJ hardcore band from a few years back called Tears of Frustration. They were more pro-American than anything, but they were awesome.

Slapshot and the FU's from Boston in the 80's were also pretty against the grain and not ashamed of America if nothing else.

There is a pretty prominent guy named James Webb who is running for Senate here in VA, as a Democrat nonetheless. He wrote a book called Born Fighting about the Scots-Irish. And that's the kind of stuff we need more. Not the Nazi stuff at all. But mainstream stuff that tells about our history, our people and culture and that it is quite acceptable to feel good about it.

It was only 15 years ago when at least pro-American, if not pro-white bands, dominated hardcore music. Punk has always been Commies. But in hardcore/metal there was Stormtroopers of Death, who had a very popular album called "speak English or Die", then there offshoot band MOD always had politically incorrect lyrics.

There was a compilation album from the best hardcore bands in New York that had a band called Youth Defense league who was as pro-white as they come. Agnostic Front has a song called Public Assistance which had a verse "how come its minorities who cry things are too tough, on TV with their gold chains they claim they don't get enough, I say , make them clean sewers, don't take no resistance, if they don't like it, go to hell and cut their public assistance."

Skrewdriver was pretty mainstream. And right wing Oi! had a huge following. I don't know what happened. Now you can't find a pro-American band to save your life. I always wonder what happened and what causes the trends change so quickly. Now every band wants to show how Spanish they are and have the most diverse members, even if it means having no whites. Very frustrating.

Its funny that you mentioned the band S.O.D., because I have that album "Speak English or Die"...lol.
One of the best tracks on it is "Sargent D".

"He'll make you wish that you didn't exist...'cause Sargent D is coming, and you're on his list!".

Great album.

Billy Milano calls himself a new age conservative.

Here is an open letter that was posted on Blabbermouth.net:
Unlike SYSTEM OF A DOWN's Serj Tankian, former S.O.D. and current M.O.D. frontman Billy Milano appears to be in favor of the U.S. going to war with Iraq.

The following is Milano's "open letter" to Tankian, written in response to the S.O.A.D. singer's growing criticism of President Bush's policies in the Middle East:

"Hey Serj,

"Did your mother have any children that lived?? Why, you mention all these fine examples of America's imperialistic impositions, [yet] you fail to mention the fact that this has happened from the dawn of man. You cannot deny the simple fact that man conquers man. It has nothing to do with AMERICA and everything to do with POWER recognition and economic viability â€â€￾ in other words, BUSINESS. America is a BUSINESS. Did you just figure that out? Maybe your turbin is too tight. For a guy who claims to know about our country, you don't know sh*t. Maybe you should stop hugging trees and READ A BOOK!!!!

"England ruled most of the world. Serj, why don't you tell the world how f**ked up England is? Remember the saying, 'The sun never sets on the British Empire?' Of course, you've heard that, but you don't have the balls to tell England to go f**k themselves. Ever wonder why no one gives a f**k about the Armenian holocaust?? Because it happened 90 years ago. Stop living in the past! You weren't even alive *******, but you were on Sep, 11 and living large in L.A., not ARMENIA!!!

"In 1973, OPEC, with the specific purpose of punishing America, imposed an oil embargo because we back Israel. We have been attacked countless times because we back Israel. We absolutely need to find an alternate fuel source. They way to beat these bastards is to stop buying their oil. For right now, I am content with bombing the piss out of them. Once we stop buying their oil, they can feed themselves by eating the sand they sh*t in.

"Another thing... On Sep. 11, Arab communities in Paterson, NJ and Jersey City, NJ, danced in the streets as the Twin Towers fell. There was little reaction from people to this other than DISGUST!! Much to the credit of the true AMERICAN. I personally think these communities should be burned to the ground and pissed on. Let's see them dance when that happens.

"Serj, there are several terms for the kind of person you are. A person who uses his fame to bring attention to a plight but spends none of his own money to enact change. HYPOCRITE, LIAR, COWARD, DEMOCRAT!! If you find your balls, contact me, camel boy, at Xkrament@aol.com. I am correct that you own a computer? Maybe when you get out of your Jacuzzi or finish your sushi you bought on Hollywood Blvd., you'll show some balls and e-mail.

"*new M.O.D. 'Rebel You Love to Hate' out April. Haha.

"One other thing. I hope all these people with their 'NO BLOOD FOR OIL' shirts remember that slogan when it's 105 degrees in August and they turn on their new air conditioners or when it's 20 degrees out in January and they turn up the heat. These people are without shame! I personally sleep fine! So f**k Iraq, let's take the oil!!!!!"

Minor Threat evolved into the leftist Fugazi, but as teenagers had the
track "Guilty of Being White."

Hardcore punk legends Black Flag had "White Minority" ("White pride --
you're an American!")

I was never a part of the punk scene of the late 1970s and early 1980s, but I had friends who liked Ian McKaye, Minor Threat Black Flag and were Straight Edgers.

Low these many years later, my oldest son is a fan of these same bands.

That statement is ALL TRUE. My school is literally three minutes up the street from Paterson, in Wayne, NJ. I remember driving home from class early that day, after the attacks occurred and everyone was sent home.Anyway, I take Route 80 eastbound to get home, and to access it, you have to go through Paterson. Long story short, Paterson has one of the largest Arab populations in America. And YES, they WERE dancing in the streets when it happened. Don't let any moron liberals (who weren't there) tell you differently, I saw it with my own eyes.

The only thing that kept me from total insanity that day, was something else I witnessed: Two arabs were stomping on an American flag on the sidewalk, when two blacks noticed it. The bruthas then proceeded to beat the hell out of these two with impunity. What made it even more satisfying, was the patrol car that had passed and IGNORED the Arabs getting pummeled.

Anyone here of any good bands we should know about? Came across a band called The Skels, they aren't political at all, but on their website they do have a link to the Daniel Faulkner memorial website. he was the policeman killed by Mumia Abu-Jamal or whatever his name is. Mumia was/is all the rage among the Commie liberals, so any band that takes up for Daniel Faulkner gets a vote from me.

Anyway, if you like Irish rock and bluegrass, these guys are for you.

When it comes to music, I'm an omnivore
smiley2.gif
I'll pretty much listen to anything except rap, techno, teen-pop and salsa/reggaeton, my neighbors listen to that crap
smiley5.gif
I listen to mostly heavy metal, punk, and oldies music. Yes, you heard me. It sucked when CBS-FM went off the air, to be replaced by one of those Jack-Fm stations
smiley11.gif

Right now, I'm listening to a group called Apocalyptica. They're a chamber music quartet, four cellists. They do a combination of heavy metal and chamber/classical music. Their first album was all Metallica covers arranged in a chamber music style, but on subsequent albums they do a combination of their original songs and covers of everything from heavy metal artists to classical pieces. Their stuff is hard to find, because they're from Finland, and it has to be imported. If you can't find it in a store, go onto Amazon or Ebay, it's worth it.

Try Stonewall Jackson's song Welfare Cadillac, and the old country singer Johnny Rebel if you want to hear some funny but truth filled twangy tunes. I'm not into much new music at all, because it stinks, but I like a lot of old stuff.

I like that comment! When I was young, Berstein had some program for children to explain music for them. I always watched it, and my love for music grew out of this. There are a number of better conductors but I thank him for this show.
Also he wrote West Side Story. I remember that was the only film that the students at my high school liked. (In those days, movies were not aimed at teenagers. They were for children or adults.)

Josh, I saw Agnostic Front years ago, probably around 1985 or 86. They opened for Motorhead, on a night when Motorhead only got to play 4 songs. A kid in the front row continally reached for Lemmy's mic stand and rocked it as Lemmy tried to "sing" into the mic. Lemmy finally got pissed and beamed the guy with the mic stand! Show over!

Anyway, I was not a fan of AF, but I did not get any overt "nazi" signals from them.
