Here's the headline on CBSSports.com, from the very first article on the Homepage with the picture:

Tiger Making Waves.
Tiger Woods is in good shape as he makes the turn at 1 under. Charley Hoffman chases Jordan Spieth while Jason Day falters.

Yep. The only mention of Spieth (now at an amazing -13!!!!!) was after Tiger. You'd think he was poised to overtake Spieth after 10 straight birdies with that title.

Spieth is simply amazing. The future of American golf is here!! Charley Hoffman is now at -7. After that, it's Ernie at -5. Even though Phil and Rory still have to tee off, it's looking like a run away for Spieth if he keeps it up.

Right JL. When I started watching coverage yesterday on ESPN, the first shot they showed live was Woods who at the time was 5-6 shots back at +1. Continued to show Woods' every shot until the finish.

But, on the Golf Channel, this morning and afternoon, they have given Jordan Spieth his due. Really talking up what he's doing is incredible considering he's not overpowering.

So far it's almost a repeat of the 1997 Masters, when Woods ran away from the field and won by 12 strokes at the age of 21. I love the peerless drama that only the back nine of the final round at Augusta provides, but Jordan running away from the field, the way Woods did and the way Rory McIlroy has done twice in majors already, would be awesome. Of course Jordan won't get anywhere near the media acclaim and adulation that Woods has received ever since, but it will be one more huge nail in the coffin of the Woods era that the system is so desperate to keep propped up indefinitely.

Spieth shoots -14 and breaks the record at Augusta for the lowest round after 36 holes, breaking Raymond Floyd's nearly 40 year old mark!! What an accomplishment for Jordan!!

It should be mentioned that Charley Hoffman has been keeping pace with Spieth pretty well thus far, and is only 4 shots off the lead at -10.

Woods just hit an aweful drive on the par five 13th, immediately dropped his driver and exclaimed: "oh my f-cking god!" It was a clear as a bell.

A few minutes later, Nick Faldo, corporate Tiger-venerator extraordinaire, apologized to the viewing audience "if they overheard something offensive."

That's also a HUGE double standard... do you think if somebody like say Phil or Bubba did what Woods did, that they'd even be let near the PGA tour again? Not only was Woods let back in with no problem, they still cheer for him as if nothing happened.

On a side note, a VERY interesting grouping of Rory and Phil together for the first couple of rounds along with Ryan Moore. Should be a fun group to watch.

Of course there's a double-standard when it comes to Woods (or any non-white). I'm sure you're right that Phil or Bubba would have been run off for good, or at least a very long time. It reminds of Marv Albert suddenly appearing right back in the driver's seat on TV. If he wasn't a member of the tribe, he would have never worked in television again after pulling the tranny vampire routine.

Yeah, "...if they overheard...". IF? Imagine if Spieth or Rory or any paleface had done that. The hounding by the media for an apology to the shocked public would be something to see and totally expected.

Speaking of Marv, he could use his signature calls in this Masters.

"Jordan, YES!!!"

Phil and Justin Rose made big moves today. They're both in position if Jordan falters. Can't wait for the final round tomorrow!

What an awesome third round!! A ton of great golf being played out there. I love watching the Masters at Augusta; one of the few places that hasn't given in to political correctness. Jim Nantz is perfect for calling the Masters as well. I think the CBS coverage did a great job today of not tilting the coverage overboard towards Tiger, especially when he started playing great. When he was finished, they didn't mention him too often, and rightfully gave the overwhelming amount of coverage to the leaders and current players on the course.

I'd be very happy for Spieth wins, but I'd love to see Phil come back and get his 4th Green Jacket, which would put him in some elite company.

Spieth continues his impressive run!! He's got about a 10-12 foot Eagle Putt on 13 to go 19 under!!

I'm hoping Spieth gets another birdie and smashes Tiger's -18 record.

I am not a HUGE golf fan but I do love the Masters. Looks incredible in HD.

Looks like we will have FOUR golfers that will be identified by their first names: Jordan, Rory, Phil, and Tiger. Has that ever happened before? That might even beat the NFL and NBA. Lots of star power now and a great TV sport.

Tiger is actually playing ok and is nowhere near the top of the leader board. His fans can make all the excuses they want -- he just hasn't aged well.

Well, the media has been praying for the next JORDAN. We got him!

What a great tournament. We now have another legitimate White golf superstar. The great White sports run continues.

What Jordan did was more impressive than Tiger's win at The Masters in '97, which is regarded, along with the 2000 U.S. Open, as his two most dominating wins. Woods had no pressure in '97, as the runner-up finished -6 compared to his -18 as he entered the last round with a nine stroke lead.

Spieth had a group of world class players continually nipping at his heels yesterday and today who had scores that would have won The Masters most years. If he had faltered at all they would have passed him. His composure and clutch putting was other-worldly. He won wire to wire for the first time since Raymond Floyd in 1976, and the media scrutiny was intense the entire time. Many seemed to be expecting Jordan to crumble. To pull off what he did at the age of 21, well words can't fully describe it. One of the best athletic feats I've ever seen, it took nerves of steel and tremendous mental toughness.

I agree. Phil and Justin Rose played well today too, and I'll be honest, I didn't expect Jordan to play as well as he did today; I'm glad he proved me wrong. What an amazing feat for Spieth!! I'm very happy Jordan held on to win. This win was one for the ages, and hopefully will finally shut people up about Tiger.

I was just reading a great article on Spieth from USA Today. Read it if you have the time. http://www.usatoday.com/story/sport...jordan-spieth-changing-of-the-guard/25686819/

It sounds like Jordan is one of the genuinely good and down to Earth guys on the PGA like Phil or Bubba. It'll be fun to cheer him on for another 30 years!!

A great wire-to-wire victory for golf’s youngest star! Jordon Spieth manages to simultaneously represent several of the most detested groups in modern America…a white, Christian southerner with a German surname (“Spieth†is a very popular last name in Southern Germany, which makes sense, because Jordan's parents were born in eastern PA).

Rose and Mickelson kept grinding despite the daunting deficient, Poulter made a nice run at the end, Casey/Johnson/Hoffman played great, and Rory nearly missed the cut on Friday if he hadn’t turned it around on the back nine.

Unlike during the ever-torturous “Tiger Years,†Spieth will have top notch competition like: McIlroy, Mickelson, Watson, Z. Johnson, D. Johnson, Schwartzel, Oosthuizen, Westwood, Mahan, Poulter, Stenson, Donald, Kaymer, Day, Scott, Rose, Fowler, Garcia, Snedeker, Els, Walker, etc., any of whom could shine on any given tournament. Like professional boxing over the past 15-20 years, golf is now a “world sport†that features top athletes from the U.S., Northern Ireland, Ireland, Australia, England, South Africa, Germany, Spain, Argentina, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, etc. Spieth and McIlroy, the future stars of the sport, will have a much more difficult time maintaining their dominance than Woods.

Speaking of Tiger, it seems the prediction I made prior to the tournament (see below), unfortunately, came to fruition…

Thrashen said:
While I’m not nervous that Tiger to contend for the win, I think he could finish somewhere in the top 10-20. I think he makes the cut and becomes a “big comeback story†this weekend. I hope I’m wrong, but the guy seems to be playing well in practice rounds, happy, confident, loose, and he really has nothing to lose and everything to gain.

Let’s be honest, Woods was fantastic for the first three rounds of the Masters, especially given his putrid play thus far in 2015, his two month layoff, and the normally Tigerphillic corporate media inferring that he’s washed-up and has the “yips.†His 18[SUP]th[/SUP] place finish wasn’t expected and in my opinion, he’s still a minor threat in any major tournament and I’m not comfortable until each Major Championship has been decided.

Woods was seen tossing clubs and was caught by CBS microphones cursing loudly on multiple occasions after poor shots. Contrast Woods’ endless boorishness with the class act such as Phil Mickelson, who I heard uttering disappointed phrases such as “darn it!†after errant shots.

For once, Tiger wasn’t plagued by a back injury, but he allegedly “dislocated his wrist bone†after hitting a tree root with an iron…

Woods claimed that he "popped the bone back in" and was fine. Even Nick Faldo expressed some doubt about that one, noting his macho medical treatment feat wasn't captured on camera and Tiger is filmed by multiple cameramen every single second he's on the course.

Even though Woods did some cursing, overall he acted better than before, smiling and acknowledging the galleries more, even signing some autographs and occasionally slapping hands with a spectator while walking to a tee. Maybe if he's finally somewhat appreciative of those who enable his lifestyle, the media's perpetual Tiger worship will be a bit more palatable.
