2014 College Football Season Week 8

BYU Tailback Nate Carter finally getting an opportunity...7 carries for 87 yards rushing & Mitch Matthews 9 receptions for 123 yds & 2 TD's... early in 4th qtr

It's plain wrong what Nevada has done to last year's leading rusher Kendall Brock!

Ryan Switzer finished with 9 rec 136 yds & 2 TD's...need to see some highlights! He should be getting a few carries as well!

QB Drew Hare did his best Jordan Lynch impersonation rushing for 180 yards & 2 TD's...

Marc Weisman 10 carries for 78 yds & 2 TD's
Zach Laskey 15 for 74 & 2 TD's
Shayne Devern (Air Force) 16 for 85
QB CJ Brown 21 carries for 99 yds

Tyler Varga (Yale) had 184 yds rushing on 25 carries & 4 TD's

Adam Drake (Eastern Illinois) 7 rec 110 yds 2 TD's

Brendan Douglas should be getting more carries!

With each passing week, the chances of getting a non-quotabacked team into the playoffs diminishes. Simultaneously, my interest in college football diminishes by an equal amount. Baylor's loss likely knocks them out of contention. I think Michigan State's defense isn't good enough this year to stop Ohio State, so they lose that one. I'd say the best bets right now are Ole Miss and Kansas State. I don't think Ole Miss will finish undefeated, which will put them out. Oklahoma State's loss today knocks them out. Arizona State has a chance at some good wins, but the UCLA loss is a bad one. Nobody below them (ex. East Carolina) has a chance of getting "selected" by the committee. Kansas State's remaining schedule is likely the toughest in the nation.

It looks like that AA Goober David Shaw is finally being exposed at Stanford. He is unable to modify his scheme/gameplan to utilize his Tight Ends and McAffrey. Instead he keeps trying to rely on the power running game and forcing the ball the BSPN favorite Ty Montgomery. They don't have a "bellcow" runningback. If he was smart he would be on the recruiting trail looking for a big white RB to build his offense around.

Looks like the same can be said for genius Kevin Sumlin at A&M. It's easy to ride coat tails for a couple years, but then it starts to unravel.

It is unreal how much luck the loathsome FSU has had. They are like the nfl equivalent of Seattle ****hawks. Jameez Winston is your typical hyped up afleet who reminds me exactly of Geno Smiff. Love to lock on to first read. Although college is much different from the pros, Winston like Smiff had a small turnover ratio, but are so alike. Big arm
etc, with a 10 cent brain. These college scouts who think Jameez is a RARE talent are clueless. The truth is there hasnt been a rare talent at qb since Andrew Luck.

I think that certain college programs only appear to be "great" because they have their schedules mangled and contorted in such a way so that they face only those teams who are least likely to expose their weaknesses.

In a true meritocracy, I don't think it's too wildly unimaginable that a small, D2 school (ie, bunch of White guys) will humble a lot of the SEC teams in a fair game with referees who have no interest in who wins.

Similar "maskings" conceal the weaknesses of Russel Wilson in Seattle.

Admittedly, he is on one of the [VERY] few, mostly-Black teams that are actually good. Having said that, he has some good White talent on his team, too.

Anyway, the point is, he is a journeyman level quarterback who is the beneficiary of having good talent around him.

If he is put in charge of a team with putrid losers (ie, any team Carson Palmer is on), he will be exposed for the also-ran he really is.

He's not like Drew Brees or Big Ben, who, whether or not they are wiggers, will make their team better as the leader, rather than requiring a good team to mask their own mediocrity.

I agree with Phillisfan in that Andrew Luck is the real deal.

With him, Indy has a chance, despite not having that many White people on the team. Without Andrew Luck, Indy is GARBAGE.

Will Seattle be garbage without Wilson?

No.

Put any White B-team quarterback on there, and they might actually do even better.

and yet the talking heads were saying Jameis was the smartest qb around right now (on the field, said they were "puzzled" as to why such a smart qb on the field would make poor decisions off) Can it get anymore ridiculous? they compared him to Andrew Luck. They went on and on about him yesterday.

Don't write off UGA (w/ QB Hutson Mason) just yet. They've stepped it up the last 2 weeks (sans afflete Gurley) & have the inside track on the SEC East if they can beat Auburn (primarily). They "should" be able to handle "Flowerida", UK & Tech. We're gonna find out.

Winston has already thrown three Ints in the Louisville game. Not worth watching though as both teams are so pro-caste.

Good news to me

This game looks fake.

Authorities might want to look into the bank accounts of some Louisville defenders after this.

The commentator just said Winstons passes are like "magical laser beams".

I caught some of this game when Louisville was up and they intercepted rapeis twice in the span of a few minutes. There is nothing special about Winston, his one "explosive play" that I saw was to a wide open receiver. His mechanics are lazy and he is very awkward as an athlete. His accuracy is suspect as well. He is having a really bad follow up to his heisman winning season last year. Manziel actually improved his game in 2013 after winning the heisman in 2012 - he just did not have any defense. If free shoes university had A&Ms defense they would be a .500 team at best.

I think that McGuire kid for fsu is just as good as Winston is. I am a fan of nick o'leary though, he is a very good tight end and will hopefully be a 2nd round pick.

We should make a new thread for this week's games. I also have no idea why my post has that weird emoticon above it. I'm posting from my phone so I probably fat fingered something.

I know Tulsa sucks this year but Zack Langer is actually their leading rusher with 105 attempts and a 4.2 ypc average. When I saw this guy in high school I gave him no chance to get any real playing time. Glad to see I was wrong.

As with most white running backs, it took a few years and several injuries for him to get on the field. I'm from Tulsa, and I can remember in the late 80's when they had all white tailbacks, Brett Adams and Mark Brus. Brus was from Canada and had a 312 yard rushing game against NM State. Adams is still the 8th leading rusher in TU history with nearly 2000 yards.
