The Ratings Collapse of The Establishment Media Represents A Huge Cultural Change In The West

There is a massive media shift taking place in America and other Western countries as more and more young people reject mainstream media institutions.

They are turning to blogs, Internet news anchors, social media websites like Twitter and Facebook, and internet-based commentators to get their news and alternative perspectives of reality.

Big media companies have no chance competing against the rising independent media in a free-market atmosphere. They are history unless they can successfully lobby the federal government to censor anti-government websites in the name of cyber security.

But such extreme measures to silence free speech and maintain the authority of the establishment media are likely to be resisted by sophisticated activists.

Young people have every kind of technological gadget at their disposal to access their favorite podcasts, blogs and radio shows which are independently operated and offer unique perspectives to world events.

This huge shift in news consumption will have cultural, social and political ramifications for many years to come, possibly altering the very nature of our societies and our governments.

What we are witnessing is no small revolution – it is the liberation of the Western media and, by extension, the Western public mind, from government and corporate narratives about history and reality.

The biggest winners in this shift towards a free media are Internet broadcasters like Alex Jones, Amy Goodman, Max Keiser, Cenk Uygur, and Keith Olbermann who are keeping a safe distance from the dying mainstream corporate media. There are probably others that I am unaware of.

What these 21st century news anchors have that regular news anchors on television lack is credibility, intelligence, respect and trust. I would even add humanity.

If you saw Goodman’s coverage of Troy Davis’s unjust execution last week you’ll know what I’m referring to.

Alex Jones has the most credibility and trust because of his fearless stance that 9/11 was an inside job which he made in the summer of 2001, two months before the towers even collapsed. You can’t buy that kind of credibility and integrity (Glenn Beck probably knows that now after experiencing a hyped and manufactured popularity with conservatives).

Credibility comes with time and Alex has credibility that is unequal to any other news anchor on television or the Internet.

There are many ignorant and clueless people out there who may disagree, but I think a decade is enough time to recognize Alex’s intelligence, honesty and courage. Alex’s word is weighed in gold.

He has intellectual depth and his words are full of emotion, two things that are extremely rare nowadays in the land of the free.

Moreover, the ratings collapse of state-corporate television comes as the long track record of its censorship practices become more widely recognized in American and Western society.

Great article which I couldn't agree with more. Our views are becoming the mainstream. Castefootball will follow too.

How'd that get in there? Was Davis set up in a Mossad black op scam or something? I thought Davis was a dirty ratbag ghetto POS that shot two guys in the face, one an off duty cop while he was lying on the ground.

I do think the MSM are really hurting and newspaper are in their death throes. I watch very little TV but what little I have watched lately I've seen the media trying to popularise things like "Extreme Couponing"
that I believe to be a last-ditch effort to prop up the newspaper's collapsing subscriptions....

The Corporate MSM is strictly a mouthpiece and extension of our utterly corrupt Corporate Government and thus it's duty is not to question anything about what they do whether it's this action (execution) or any other action taken by them. In this case it doesn't matter if the killer was black, White, mestizo, Asian, or other or what the evidence showed, either way. The only thing that matters is that their Master's actions and position, whatever they may be, will always be portrayed as justifiable and defensible. Whether Davis's execution was "just" or "unjust" is of no relevance to the Corporate MSM. They will not cross, question, or contradict their Masters.

I disagree. First of all the mention in the article wasn't about the MSM take in the Davis execution, it was a comment that the execution was "unjust". That was a personal opinion of the writer. That was my point. The rest of the article had some good stuff but that comment seemed out of place.

I also don't think the dinosaur media was all in for the Davis execution, I saw plenty of high profile people against it (because he was black), are you saying that the NY Times was in agreement with Davis' execution and would also support Mummia (or whatever that scum bags name is) execution? Of course not. When the govt does things the cultural marxists like, yes they support completely, on the rare occasion the govt has to do something the cultural marxists dont like, they criticize endlessly in an effort to change or prevent that thing from happening again.

Every corporate media outlet (CNN, FOX, NBC, MSNBC, ABC, NBC, CNBC, PBS, etc.), daily newspaper, weekly newspaper, journal, and magazine company could instantly dissolve and most American’s under 30-years old, as well as a good portion of the older population, wouldn’t even realize it occurred.

As soon as the “Greatest Generation” (of Jew-piloted murderers of white Europeans) and the “Baby Boomers” (with heavy emphasis on “baby”) are gone, so too will their automated TV Thinking Machines.

White sell-outs such as NBC’s Brian Williams will be forced to make a living without picking clean the bones of white Americans on a nightly basis. Here is Mr. Williams, broadcasting live from the motherland of his masters, Tel Aviv…

The author isn't necessarily "one of us." I posted it because of the thrust of the article, not because I'm a fan of Amy Goodman and Keith Olbermann, two of what he calls the "biggest winners" in the alternative media. The point is that more and more Americans are rejecting the old media in favor of what they enjoy in the new media.

This may not be directly related to the theme of this thread, but it likely is. Leno and Letterman can undeniably be funny at times, but when I watch their shows I often cringe -- their attempts at hipness and being cutting edge just feel so retro and often lame, like a trip back in time to the pre-internet early 1990s.

Late Night Icons See Their Ratings Slide

The decline of television’s two big late-night stars was more noticeable than ever during television’s premiere week, as “The Tonight Show With Jay Leno†and the “Late Show With David Letterman†were both beaten by ABC’s “Nightline†— a first during that week.

“Nightline†was up slightly from last year, increasing its viewership by 7 percent, but the story was in the falloff for both Mr. Leno on NBC and Mr. Letterman on CBS. The two late-night lions saw their audience, especially the younger segments of viewers, drop sharply.

Mr. Letterman lost a total 560,000 viewers from last year, a 15 percent decline; Mr. Leno lost 160,000, or 4 percent. But among the 18- to 49-year-old audience that many advertisers seek to reach, Mr. Leno was down even more, 20 percent (270,000 viewers), while Mr. Letterman was down 16 percent (200,000 viewers).

I know this is a bit off topic, but several years ago I remember reading (on the Net) something about how CBS's "hit sitcom" Everybody Loves Raymond was being propped up by the Marxist media to push the feminist agenda and, perhaps more steathly, even promoted to further the gay agenda. Even the most gulllible can see the feminist aspect right away -- a pair of very tall men (Ray Romano is like 6' 4" & the jewish Brad Garrett is like 6' 8") go through life being constantly browbeaten by a bunch of diminutive women in their lives. These two are so pu$$y whipped that they can't watch TV when they want to, they can't eat what they want to eat, can't take a nap when they are tired and must constantly beg for forgiveness if they say something "politically incorrect". Their lives seem to be beyond miserable -- 24/7 shouting and bickering between spouses, in-laws, family, ect.

Some might say the "gay aspect" is nuts, but the person writing the piece noted that the shows Marxist writers were probably trying to make married life out to be so miserable, that it could, at the very least, push many young men watching this Hollyweird garbage want to shun marriage as long as they could....and some, perhaps, would simply prefer to go the gay route -- as homosexual couples are always portrayed as being in perpetual "wedded bliss" on TV. Again, this is all pushed in a very steathly way.

So what other stealth messages are currently being sent to millions of stupid, young gentiles by our sneaky friends in the media these days? Could they ever come up with a show that would discourage white couples from having children -- while the flood of 3rd world slime that have inundated our nation and do not watch American Network TV are breeding like rabbits?

Here comes NBC's Up All Night: http://www.nbc.com/up-all-night/

I've never seen this show, but I have seen the promos being pushed hard while watching football on NBC. Seems the agenda is all too clear: Portray parenthood as being so bad, that many young goyim simply wont want to have kids...heck, this might even push gay/lesbian "fence-sitters" into being Homosexuals? Perhaps I'm overreacting?

I used to like Everybody loves Raymond as there were elements of it that reminded me of my Italian family roots. Religion-Catholicism-was shown in a fairly positive light. But the show became unwatchable as the Patricia Heaton chararcter turned into a total unrelenting bitch. It is amazing to watch her fly into a rage at the most innocent of things and I'm sure she has become a role model for the real life harpies that wonder why they are suddenly single.

I imagine the response one of my old school Italian uncles would have given to another Debra tamper tantrum....>SMACK!!<

I’ve pondered a time or two that the financial take-down of the West is a mechanism to compensate for the eventual loss of a very powerful weapon. There might be holes in that theory, but everybody is entitled to put on a tin foil hat every so often. :tinfoil3:

The old passes away and the new arises to take its' place. That is the natural order of things. The government tries to use regulations to stop new businesses from replacing the old, but as time goes along the old businesses weaken and the government gives trillions in bailouts to keep the old money families rich and powerful but the economy fails and their is no more production to keep the old rich and powerful, rich and powerful, so in time, a new media and a new government along with new businesses will arise to replace the old parasites that can be supported no more.

As for Letterman, use to watch his show but stopped when he started to push, push, push, the left-wing agenda.

Don, great thread you started here. I stopped supporting much of the dino media in about 2006 when the 911 lies and non-stop BS in the local paper finally made me "snap." The final straw was a broadside hit piece against the Liberty Dollar in the local paper which greatly offended me because the Liberty Dollar is a much better currency then the fed's fraudy nondollar. I wrote a letter to the editor and he/she did not print it. And that was THAT. It was my Mike Hass moment for the media. Stopped reading the BS newspapers, largely stopped watching TV and all the lying crap they spew from their dino holes. The lamestream media is just a non-stop DISinfomercial for the MACHINE. Lies, bull****, lies, all bull****. Can hardly stand watch 5 minutes and can't make it 30. Can't support them when I know what kind of destructive **** they've been doing and supporting. About 95 percent of my info now comes from the "alternative" sources you all mentioned above, and I rate them to be about 1000% better than the Dino media which is just a 2 bit whore for the MACHINE.

Olbermann was forced off and would jump right back into the maistream if given the opportunity. Cenk Uygur (truly a dumbass) glommed onto MSNBC faster than a third grader will grab a popsickle. Also, Alex Jones' credibility isn't all that credible.

An article entitled "Award winning former CNN reporter blows the whistle!"

Amber Lyon is an award winning journalist who worked for CNN. She just appeared on the Alex Jones, nationally syndicated radio show to blow the whistle on CNN. She says she was ordered to report fake stories while working for the left-wing network.

Amber Lyon is a three time Emmy winning investigative journalist and photographer. She accuses CNN of being “fake news.â€￾
