In addition, the Pacers were lead by Troy Murphy's 28pts/12rbs and Mike Dunleavy's 24pts/5assts/3stls in tonight's win over the Wizards. Dunleavy hit the game winning FTs at the end to clinch the win.

The performance by these 3 American born white players has gotta be one of the best we've seen in many, many years. I wonder how long we have to go back to find a box score where the 3 leading scorers for a team were all American born whites.

I guess Bob Kravitz of Indystar must be getting to ready to write his next column about this alarming situation, and what can be done to correct it immediately.

Hansbrough had a tough rookie year with the Pacers. He missed the first part of the year with a shin injury. Then, after only playing 29 games, he missed the rest of the year due to vertigo. Last night, I caught some of an NBA Summer League game between the Pacers and Nets. Hansbrough was not there and they asked Pacer's Coach Jim O'Brien about his status. He said Hansbrough is still suffering some vertigo symptoms, but he's been working out like a maniac and looks like the hulk. They are hopeful he will be ready by the start of the season.

News: Hansbrough (ankle) returned to action Thursday night after missing one game because of an ankle injury. He scored seven points with eight rebounds and an assist in 20 minutes in Indiana's win over the Clippers.
Spin: Hansbrough continues to back up Josh McRoberts at power forward, even though McRoberts has done little (aside from energy and hustle) to merit being starter. From a statistical perspective, Hansbrough is out-producing McRoberts, but he struggles with assignments and can't usurp the starting job.

My take: Tyler Hansbrough was one of the greatest college players of all time. He is a potential NBA all-star. He is way better than journeyman McRoberts. He is healthy this year. His per minute production is great. He struggles with assignments??? That sounds ludicrous considering the relative IQ's and discipline of the average NBA player. Tyler Hansbrough needs to be unleashed. Tyler Hansbrough, Kevin Love, J.J. Redick, David Lee and Chase Budinger should be the face of American born White NBA players for the next 10 years. Hansbrough gets his turn

Jim O'Brien went looking for a spark Friday by way of
adjusting his starting five, a familiar course of action in Indy. <a href="http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/players/4618/" target="_blank">Tyler
Hansbrough</a></span> came close to providing it in his 36 minutes against the Spurs, but
his 23 points, 12 boards, and two blocks weren't quite enough as the Spurs rallied from an 11-point fourth-quarter
deficit to win 90-87. Hansbrough immediately becomes a player of interest. Hansbrough has the knack for finding himself around the ball, but a
tendency to have his shot blocked affects his field goal percentage. He's improved
on that in his limited time this season, but is still well above the league
average.
Hansbrough's big game ensures at least a trial run over the
next few weeks, but nothing is a given here. Josh McRoberts</span> has been officially
doghoused and was a DNP-CD Friday, and he'll remain out of the rotation if
Hansbrough goes on a run. Jeff Foster</span> played only 12 minutes because <a href="http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/players/4479/" target="_blank">Roy
Hibbert</a></span></span> was a +6 in his 36 minutes (10 points, 14 boards, 2 blocks), but the
entire situation remains fluid. What would be ideal is that Hibbert and
Hansbrough find the pairing mutually beneficial, and both players help spark the offensively-challenged Pacers. I'd be
comfortable dropping Taj Gibson</span> or Amir Johnson</span> to take a chance on Hansbrough
after this performance.
Take Hansbrough's 10-of-19 out of the mix and the
remaining Pacers shot just 33 percent in the loss, and the team made just one
of 15 shots during their fourth quarter collapse.

Tyler had 18 points hitting 6-6 FG's off the bench playing only 23 minutes in a close loss to Miami.

If Tyler ever gets a legit chance to be a starter somewhere getting over 30 minutes a night then I have no doubts that he would easily average over 20 PPG.

Tyler had 26 points on 11-14 shooting, 6 rebounds and 3 steals coming off the bench. Tyler is starting to get his confidence and live up to his potential. Hopefully he can start starting for Indiana soon.

Tyler Hansbrough is really playing well lately. Like JReb1 mentions above, it would be great to see him starting soon for the Pacers.

Hansbrough got the start tonight and led the Pacers in scoring, rebounds and steals. Tyler had 21 points, 10 rebounds and 3 steals.

Not bad for an overrated overachiever who supposedly can't play at this level...

Tyler got another start and scored 20 points and also had 7 rebounds! I have no doubts that Tyler would be at least a 20 PPG player if he's allowed to start and be an offensive focal point.

Tyler has now scored 20+ points in his last 4 games.

I stick to my belief that one man's injury (Granger) is another man's gain (Hansbrough).

If Tyler hasn't earned the starting position for good (he clearly has great game) then it will be a complete caste joke, and I hope the Indiana fans revolt!

How is this possible? What's going on with these over-achieving, high-motor, non-athletic guys with big hearts (Love, Hansbrough, Gortat, etc) playing very well in the NBA? Love has been doing it all year, the latter two have come on strong in the 2nd half of the season.

I guess they must all be great students of the game and work really, really hard. Can you possibly imagine how good they would be if they were a little bit more athletic and flashed 1000 megawatt smiles?

It's the same thing with the "nonathletic bust" J.J. Redick who oddly enough puts up really good stats whenever he's given minutes. It's impossible to become an NBA star sitting on the bench and then not being a focal point of the offense in the few minutes they're allowed and if you dare ask why the White collegiate star isn't getting minutes it's the same answer every time, "he can't play defense."

How can EVERY White college star player not be able to play defense once he gets to the NBA?

The only thing I don't like is that the Pacers are not playing Josh McRoberts as much. He is too athletic to be sitting on the bench. I hope they can pick up a few more pieces for next season.

5 straight 20+ point games now for Psycho-T!

McRoberts is being played as Hansbrough's back-up. What Indiana needs is a really good PG, Collison and Price are too erratic and TO prone. This could be an ideal team for Jimmer Fredette, or Tyler's little brother, Ben.

Hansbrough is a beast. The all-time leading scorer in the ACC and he still had to serve a racial apprenticeship. Thank god Budinger, Hansbrough, Love, and Redick (although still serving an apprenticeship) are getting their chance.

Hansbrough showing the DWFs, MSM and the PTB that he's a legit superstar ITM is awesome! They were ALL already gloating by labeling Tyler a "bust" and actually accused Bird of racism for drafting him. Tyler has the ability to win or at least challenge for the NBA scoring title as soon as next season (25+ ppg IMO) if given the proper minutes and a great PG as a compliment. Tyler, as he did in college, has proven that he also has the leadership ability to make those around him better.

What's up with Tyler the last couple games?? He's not posting the stats I know (and everyone now knows) he can and I'm just wondering if there is some reason? Haven't caught the last couple games and it seems his minutes are down slightly... is he playing through an injury or something that would account for a few very quiet games in a row?

probably an injury. I heard Garnett played pretty dirty against him. His production has declined since then, If I'm not mistaken.

On a bright note, Josh McRoberts scored 15 points and pulled down 13 rebounds in 28 minutes tonight. This guy is so athletic. I wish he could find a way into the starting lineup and stay there. I feel if he could around 35 minutes a game, he would slowly grow into the player we all thought he could be.
