Cool pic. I guess we can thank the Fab 5 for the ridiculously oversized shorts. It looks like he could parachute back to the ground.

I wish Jimmer would throw down a dunk in a game on a break away. Just to show people that he can dunk.

this commentshouldshow everyone here at Caste Football(and any lurkers that haven't yet been convinced of the truthin what we espouse) the power of the Caste System's media silence about White athletic achievement ...

white lightning is possibly the most knowledgable researcher (certainly of track athletes) at the site, and for him to not be aware thathis (current) favorite basketball playerhas dunked in a collegiate game shows just howfar the Caste System's media arm has gone in order to limit the perceived athletic abilities of Jimmer Fredette. this, despite Fredette's widespread popularity.

mayi show you the "unathletic" 6-foot-2 Fredette dunking on a fastbreak against UTEP this season ...

Nice clip! I must admit, I have never seen Jimmer dunk before as well. Guess he has "limited athleticism" as the scouting reports say.

That SI cover is really cool! I'm glad Jimmer is getting a lot of publicity. It can do nothing but help the cause of White athletes.

It's funny how whites have great success in college but get screwed over in the pros. Redick and Morrison were the leading scorers in college basketball a few years ago and Jimmer this year. Redick should be a full time starter. I sure hope Jimmer gets a starting gig as soon as his NBA career starts. Otherwise they'll start calling him the next Adam Morrison.

Thanks for posting that video Jimmy!

I knew he could dunk but never had the pleasure of watching him dunk before. Thanks to you, now I have. I started this thread a little over a year ago. I knew that this kid had that "star factor" after watching him play against az and all he did was put up 49 points! The guy is amazing. It has been a pleasure watching him light it up against countless teams. His endurance is just amazing to me. The guy is built like a football player and he has that swagger that most of the stars do while still remaining a humble kid. How can anyone can not love this kid? He is worth the price of admission. I loved watching JJ Reddick play but I have to admit that this kid is even better.

Tonight is going to be special. This is going to be a very tough game. If the Cougars can win tonight and on Saturday, they will move on to the final four. If you think Fredette Mania is big now, can you imagine him playing for a title? We can only hope. Regrardless of what happens, he will be remembered by many fans around the world for decades. People still talk about Christian Laettner and I believe they will talk about Jimmer for years to come. Especially if he can bring back a national championship to BYU! Good luck to him and the Cougars tonight!

also, i liked that article you linked, white lightning. it was well-written (except for the bit about Davies being BYU's second-best player. he's not; Jackson Emery is.), though it did a wondrous job of tightrope-walking whilst avoiding the issue of race.

Jimmer, Jackson, and the rest of the Cougars tip off against Chandler Parsons and the Gators in about 20 minutes. best of luck, gentlemen!

Jimmer is slated to go 10th, but I think he should go higher especially if he is closer to 6'2 than 6'0.
His shot is there, he can really score and he looks strong for a point guard so he should have the ability to finish shots in the NBA and get deep into the lane. If a team needs outside shooting, a good second or third option and a good point guard then he is the pick. I think the T Wolves, Clippers, and lots of other teams would be good fits.

If he is a legit 6'2 then he is close to Deron Williams. Jimmer and Deron are about the same in terms of athleticism and speed. I think Jimmer has an elite shot and scoring skills and if you put that with his good size and his leadership abilities then he can get in that top point guard range.

I also think that he will be the top guard taken, but if you already have D-Will (Nets) then you make Jimmer a super sixth man. Kemba Walker is the second guard that should be selected. Great player, not really a pass first point guard but he is a good scorer and athlete. Jimmer probably has a purer stroke and more range on his shot, but they can both get hot. Both are great scorers. I haven't looked closely but I would bet that Kemba has a better first step, and Jimmer is a better catch and shoot guy. Both have good handles, not sure who has better court vision.

Kyrie Erving is probably the third point guard in this draft class. More of a scorer but not in the Jimmer/Kemba realm.
Decently athletic but not in the class of Derrick Rose. Not as fast as John Wall. I am not sure he is a guy you can build around. I am not sure that he is that much better than Brandon Knight. Knight probably has a better shot, but I don't he think he is a superstar either. I don't think either Knight or Erving is better than Darren Collison, Raymond Felton, or Brandon Jennings. Those two guys don't really offer much value in the top ten.

Jimmer has an upside of Mark Price or a stretch upside of a smaller Pete Maravich.
Kemba can be a hybrid of Allen Iverson and Ben Gordon. I think I would give a slight edge to Jimmer since he is a better pure shooter and better intangibles to be a better point guard. But both are good and should be picked in the top 5 or 6.

Chandler Parsons is my top "value" guy. He can do it all and he has good size, length and athleticism. Looks like a top 15 pick if I were drafting and possibly top ten. A do it all kind of player but at 6'10 at the small forward position.
Derrick Williams does a lot of stuff but he is more of a power forward at 6'7. Williams is projected as being a possible number 1 pick. If you are drafting players who can do some of everything then I think Parsons also goes in the lottery.
The Cavs have two picks and and should look at Parsons with the pick they received from the Clippers. With their own pick they should look at Jimmer, Kemba, and maybe Sullinger if those two guys are gone.

Perry Jones is a lottery guy as is Harrison Barnes. Jones is a 6'11 small forward but he is a guy who you draft on potential. Barnes will be a good player. Probably a small forward or a 2. Not an incredible athlete. Should be picked somewhere in the top 10. Parsons is a good combination of Perry's length, athleticism and upside and Barnes' pedigree, character, shooting touch and scoring range. Still, I think Parsons is the better value pick of those three.

Kyle Singler is probably a notch below that but I still like him if you can get him at 15-20.
He needs to show more toughness. A great final run would really help his draft stock.
He has good height and experience and could put the right team over the top. He would make a great sixth man for the Bulls along with Korver, Gibson, Asik, and Brewer off the bench. But they have two picks towards the end of the first round and he might not be there.

Nolan Smith is solid. Not an all-star type player but he could be a good rotation guy. More of a combo guard than a pure point guard. Could be a late first round pick. If you get him in the second round he could be a steal.
Comparable to Ben Hansbrough. Nbadraft.net has Hansbrough going 60 to the Spurs but I think he goes higher. If the Bulls get a good player at 25 or so and went with a bigger guy then I think they should look at Hansbrough with their pick at around 28 or 29. If Parsons and Singler are off the board at 25 then I think they go best available "upside" guy and then go after Hansbrough later. He would be a geat backup point guard to Derrick Rose and a good 3 point guy to pair with Korver coming off the bench. Those guys are the shooters, Gibson and Brewer give you size, length, and defense off the bench and Asik is an ideal backup center. Hansbrough would be their new Paxon/Kerr type with Paxon's leadership and clutch shooting and Kerr's great 3 point stroke. I could even see the Bulls using a Rose/Hansbrough backcourt to close out games with their smarts and ball handling. Rose is the better scorer and Hansbrough is the better shooter.

Sullinger is a good big man. Should be solid, maybe not an all-star.
Could be like Glen Davis or Dejuan Blair. If you have a great team and all you need is a power forward then Sullinger is your pick. Not if you are the Clippers or T Wolves or probably even the Nets (Humphries).
The Bucks could use him to pair with Bogut. I can see how the Cavs would be interested but Hickson and Harangody are solid and they need more of a franchise guy. Honestly I think Harrelson from Kentucky is a better value because rebounding translates better than inside scoring does for inside players of average athleticism.
I think teams need to look at Harrelson in the second round. He gives you size, rebounding, and toughness. A good fourth or fifth big man who could make an emergency start. He could probably start on the Knicks tomorrow. Maybe the Heat too. Could be a good backup center for the Lakers. A good solid second round pick. Great backup for Dwight Howard...

Who else?

What a sad way for BYU to end their season. If only they could have got a rebound on the Florida miss in regulation, I think they could have won it. They left it all on the court. Congrats on a great season despite falling just short. Jimmer was clearly tired and had a very sore/injured calf which effected his jump shot. He still was pretty good scoring over 30 points. So close. I will miss seeing him play for BYU but I'm excited to see what team drafts him.

Next stop for Jimmer is the NBA!

Florida contained Jimmer and shut the rest of the team down. And Parsons is one heck of a player.
Should be a good game between Florida and Butler.

With guards, after tonight I still have Jimmer and Kemba at one and two.
At the forward spots, Derrick Williams really impressed me, but Singler played great.
Parsons also showed me a lot. With small forwards and combo forwards I have Derrick Williams one, Singler two, and
I think Parsons is number three. Not sure about Matt Howard, but I think he should get a chance.

Kyrie Irving looked good but they lost. Nolan Smith didn't do much and he looked out classed.
In that game Williams was in a class by himself although Singler hung with him until he got in foul trouble.
Irving got his so I have him as being the third best player in the game but he didn't make up for Nolan's no-show.
Momo Jones played well. The Plumlee brothers played very well and offered the most resistance inside. If it weren't for them then I think Zona would have won by 30. The Plumlees bothered Williams with their size and length.

Duke didn't play well from behind. They should have gone inside more and kept Singler in, foul trouble be damned, and would have given them a chance to go down swinging.

Rick Reilly hit piece on Jimmer:

http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/news/story?id=6257636

If you read the article, this pondscum seems to have a sense of relief and euphoria that Jimmer and his "pizza delivery boys" BYU teammates failed to advance. He then concludes his hateful diatribe as follows:

Fine. That he can do. But you think this barely 6-2 kid with no speed and YMCA hops can be the next Maravich or Ainge or Westbrook?

Fredette about it.

Absolute, utter garbage. Go to hell, Rick Reilly.

Boring, if the same article was said about Kemba Walker, you'd know what to expect. The fact BYU went this far despite consisting of "pizza delivery boys", says enough how good such a team can be if given proper support, motivation, and training. Why then are the best teams outside the USA, white or white majority?

The self-hate on whites is becoming old-fashioned, BORING, and outdated. I'll bet the little Reilly arse-wipe masturbates about his black idols every night. Only one way to describe people like him... LOOOOSSSEEERRRRSSS!!!!

It looks like more and more of the TV commentators are black, all those years of white commentators sucking up and celebrating blacks have cost them their jobs.

I have a counter-opinion to the lazy "journalist" Reilly, from someone who has actually played him. Derrick Williams is one of the biggest caste blow-up super athletes from Arizona. On CBS College Sports season review, Williams talks about how Jimmer blew by him with explosive speed and quickness.

And from someone who had a whole lot of guard game, Steve Smith during the tournament, "He's quick -- and he's fast!"

And then there's the famous Kevin Durant tweet (he played against Jimmer with the national team).

i think it's obvious that much of the animus directed at Jimmer is racially based. that being said, projecting players' success at the next level (whether it be high school-to-college or college-to-pro) is oft times very difficult. there is (or at least should be) more to the evaluation than just height, speed, and stat lines.

that being said, i think Jimmer is a safe pick for any team that selects him, as (barring injury) he will be a long-time pro, in my opinion. i won't bore anyone with the details of a detailed scouting report, but i'll compare him to the two extreme cases of NBA players that he'll likely fall between during his career. and to make it even more simple for the lurkers, i'll even compare him to two White players since the caste media loves to do that.

Fredette will likely fall between (worst-case scenario) Steve Kerr and (best-case scenario) Steve Nash.

it depends on how hard he wants to work on his handle, because he has the tools to play the point. Nash, if you remember, was a score-first point guard in Santa Clara who everyone said was "too slow" and "too short" and "didn't play defense," when what they really meant was "he's too White." if he's to be successful, one other thing Jimmer is going to have to work on is not forcing the issue when there's not a play to be made. that was the reason for the majority of his turnovers at BYU. in the NBA, he's going to have to be more patient and take better care of the ball. as for his physical tools, the only thing he lacks to be considered an excellent playmaking 1-guard at the next level by the "experts"is melanin.

Chauncey Billups, honestly Jimmer projects to be very close in NBA production. Look at their size, college numbers, and very similar styles of play. I think that any honest Draft evaluator would have seen this along time ago.

That would be a scary parallel, because no way Jimmer would get all the opportunities Billups needed before he hit it big in Detroit.

Keep your eye on the combine results. Let's see how Jimmer compares athletically to these point guards.

Player 1: 6-1.75" no shoes, weight 202, no step vertical = 30, max vertical = 35, bench = 15, lane agility = 10.83, 3/4 court sprint = 3.25

Player 2: 5-11, weight 172, no step vertical = 28.5, max vertical = 35, bench = 2, lane agility = 11.27, 3.4 court sprint = 3.07

Player 3: 5-11.75, weight 175, no step vertical = 35.5, max vertical = 40.5, bench = 13, lane agility = 11.63, 3.4 court sprint = 3.09

Player 4: 5-11.75, weight 178, no step vertical = 32, max vertical = 38, bench = 10, lane agility = 11.09, 3.4 court sprint = 3.22

Draftexpress should have Jimmer's results posted after the combine. It will be interesting to see how he matches up athletically.

If you're interested players 1-4 are Deron Williams, DJ Augustin, Mike Conley, and Chris Paul.

This will be interesting.
Test results have proven time and again the false mythology of black athletic superiority.

I worked one up about a year ago on power forwards coming in to the draft. I'll see if I can find it.
