Vitali Klitschko vs Odlanier Solis

Scans confirmed that Solis ruptured his ACL.

Ok he wasn't a faker but he's still a average fighter.

I just got done arguing with some idiot on the espn comments section about the fight that the Klitschkos are white. Apparently the guy was so stupid that doesn't think they are because they are not American?? Amazing the stupidity of some people...

The fight was a fix.

Once again David Haye downplays Vitali's win. He says Solis is obese. Must be tough considering he lost to him in the amateurs.

The only "black hope" still remaining is David Haye.

Nearly all the up-and-coming heavyweights are white: Boytsov, Pulev, Helenius, Glazkov, Fury, Price, etc.

Vitali landed a right hand on the temple, Solis's *left* leg became wobbly, and then he falls and injures his *right* knee. That's what I saw. The temple shot made him do a chicken dance, and he was injured while falling down. That's a legitimate TKO victory, IMO. If a fighter doesn't want to get injured falling down, he shouldn't fall down.

They say the knee was a pre-existing injury, but it was clearly his *left* leg that was wobbly after the punch. How do they explain that? This wasn't like McCline-Valuev, where McCline tore his ACL taking a wrong step. His left leg turned to Jello after taking a punch.

It's still frustrating because I would've liked to have seen Vitali take over the fight and beat him soundly. Solis was winning the round, and that gives Klitschko haters an excuse to say that Solis would've won the fight. What they don't know- or don't care to admit- is that Vitali also lost the 1st round to Hide, Sanders, and Gomez! Of course, he won those fights in a dominant fashion. The first round was pretty close. I just rewatched it. Solis landed some body shots but nothing significant. Vitali was feeling him out and would have improved in the second.

Vitali was just seeing what Solis had and finding the range with his jab in the first round. He wasn't even warmed up yet. The hurt leg? I'm saying legit, it can happen in any sport, including boxing.

Now hopefully Solis goes away for while and people won't be talking about him too much. Especially slobberin' Teddy Witless. I wouldn't want to be within ten feet of that idiot when he tries to say "Odliener Solis".

Solis didn't land a single meaningful punch. Those bodyshots weren't going to do anything to Vitali. After watching it again the injury looks legit. Last night I was a bit buzzed and from what I saw I thought it was a fix.

If this encounter had occurred in the barren wilderness, what would have happened when Solis went down?...

Fragilis Africanus would be TOAST, that's for sure!!

Personally I thought it was a ko because he was clumsy enough to get thown of balance and sprain his ankle from it.

Anyone who knows anything about boxing knows getting clipped on the temple or top of the head really messes up ur equalibremuim. Solis get hit there and lost his balance or dazed fell backward. I watched the replay several times , he got clubbed. Solis did land a couple of snappy rights, but they had no effect on Vitali.

Could be he got clipped and it's not clearly visible in the video. I'd like to see a high quality video in slow motion.



Whatever it was, the amazing Doctor Klitschko brothers are the greatest heavyweights of all time.

At the beginning of the fight Solis was just flailing away. He was fighting scared. Vitali was just stalking him.

Since Vitali only had to fight one round, I wonder if he is looking for a quick fight in the future, maybe a "stay busy fight" until he takes on Adamek in the fall. Or maybe he could fight Adamek in the summer instead.

I would perfer that he takes on Gaye. Unknown to many, the contract Gaye signed with Wlad stipulates if Wlad can not fight due to his ab injury sustained in the gym, Gaye has to fight Vitali. I would love to see Vitali give Gaye a really good beatdown, then retire.

Something tells me that Wlad ab injury will "not heal for many more months", Gaye is being cornered and looks like Vitali will be the wrecking ball to Gaye's faux career.

Solis' knee seriously injured â€" Surgery this Thursday in Germany
On Saturday night in Cologne (Germany) WBC no. 1 rated heavyweight Odlanier Solis was stopped on his way to dethroning champion Vitali Klitschko by a serious knee injury. "La Sombra" was brought to hospital directly after the fight where an anterior cruciate ligament rupture, articular cartilage damage and meniscal tear in the right knee were diagnosed. "I haven't seen a knee torn apart like this in a long time", senior physician Dr. Joern Michael stated after doing an arthroscopy.

Solis will most probably undergo surgery on Thursday at the clinic of knee specialist Dr. Jürgen Eichhorn who was recommended to Solis and promoter Ahmet Oner by Prof. Walter Wagner, head of the German boxing commission's medical department.

"We want to guarantee the best possible treatment for Solis", says Oner. "It is our goal to bring him back to the ring as soon as possible. But of course only if he is 100 percent fit and ready to fight."

Oner hopes that Vitali Klitschko will give his mandatory challenger another shot at the title after the unfortunate accident of last Saturday. "Vitali knows exactly what it means to lose a fight due to an injury", adds Oner. "He has been asking Lennox Lewis for a re-match for years and years and it didn't materialize. We hope that Vitali will not put Solis in a similar situation like he has been in. Solis has earned a second chance.."

Most sepctators saw Solis winning the first round against Vitali before hurting his knee when he accidentally fell on it after Vitali had caught him off-balaance with a flash knockdown.

"I was just unlucky", says Solis. "I didn't even feel the shot that he landed on me and it certainly did not take me out. I felt that there was something wrong with my leg and I lost my balance. When I went down I knew immediately that there was something wrong. I promise that I will be back soon and even stronger â€" if I get a second chance I will win the title."

At the time of the stoppages the odds had dropped from 7:1 for a Solis win to only 2:1 after "La Sombra" had connected with some nice clean shots and accurate counter punches. There were more than 1 billion Euro bet on the fight worldwide.

"The world was watching and waiting for Vitali Klitschko to be dethroned", says Oner. "The first round was exactly as we had promised: exciting, spectacular and competitive heavyweight boxing on a very high level. I think the was the fight started calls for a re-match."

If the knee surgery goes on as planned Solis would be able to start rehab training immediately and be ready to fight again in six to nine months. "Hopefully against Vitali again", states Oner.

Solis' camp is now asking for a rematch in about 6 to 9 months when his leg is healed. Hopefully Vitali gives it to him and knocks the fat negro out again.

Nothing stopping anyone for asking for anything, but the Cuban Negro didn't even deserve a championship fight in the first place let alone a rematch, after he got KO'd so hard in round one that he completely lost control and twisted his legs as he fell.
