Well, a predominatly white Phillies team has won the World Series. Treasure the win because they have just hired Ruben Amaro Jr. to be their new GM.

It won't take him long to get rid of the white players and load up on hispanic or African-American players. Just watch and see.

They drafted a couple of African-Americans in the recent draft.

The Phillies projected starting lineup for 2009 only includes two white everyday players, three if you consider Victorino white. Yuck. And to think, I was this disgusted at the Angels last season.

1. Jimmy Rollins, SS
2. Chase Utley, 2B
3. Ryan Howard, 1B
4. Raul Ibanez, LF
5. Jayson Werth, RF
6. Shane Victorino, CF
7. Pedro Feliz, 3B
8. Carlos Ruiz, C
9. Pitcher

I hadn't realized it was this bad until recently.

Chase Utley is a terrific ballplayer. However, he is on the wrong side of 30 and apparently is suffering from a degenerative knee condition. This injury may apparently threaten his presence in the Phillies lineup for Opening Day 2011.

The sole reason I bring this up is that Utley is the only White position player that starts every day for Philadelphia. In light of his injury, it appears career journeyman Wilson Valdez will start at second. The obvious darkening of the Phillies has occurred, as predicted, at the hands of GM Ruben Amaro, Jr. The Phillies have set themselves up to be the first team since the 2008 Detroit Tigers to have no White position players that start every day. Not only that, but the Phillies may only have three White position players on the major league roster in Utley, and backups Ross Gload and Brian Schneider.

On cue, Amaro has transformed a relatively White-friendly World Series-winning squad into a Latino dream team. Amaro is fulfilling Omar Minaya's dream of Los Mets. And he's taking the Phillies with him.

Skipperon's first post in this thread has proven to be 100% prophetic. Since his inception as Phillies GM, Amaro has done nothing but draft blacks and sign black and hispanic free agents.

The Phillies had only one white position player in their top twenty five prospects at the beginning of last season (Check the 2010 list. All of their White prospects on the lists prior to that have been traded or cut). It should be readily apparent to anyone that this is a pattern of discrimination against White men, and a sign that the Phillies will not be getting any less diverse in the coming seasons. It remains to be seen whether or not the diversity squad will remain competitive for more than a few years however, as Minaya's Los Mets sunk quickly into futility and irrelevance after their first good year.

The Yankees and the Phils played each other in a spring training game recently,a real good look at the coming racial makeup of this once great nation!

Itshould come as no surprise to anyone that the current Phillies are even less white friendly than Minaya's Mets. Omar was just Hispanic (Dominican).....In addition to being "Hispanic", Amaro Jr. is very proud of his Jewish heritage and "considers himself a member of the tribe".

So was there any doubt at all that he'd eventuallytry to clense this franchise of most of it's white players?

The Hispanic influx into the U.S. continues unabated,we have seen what happens in baseball when owners and G.Ms are from other countries,White American players are pushed aside,do we have cause to believe that as our government becomes more "diverse"the same things will happen to the White American population?

Yeah, that "Hispanic influx" did the Mets a lot of good in recent years.

I'm sure the Phillies will also reap the rewards of their brown fling for years to come.

Hopefully, the whiter teams in the MLB like the Red Sox, and the Cardinals will do well this year.

I'm encouraged that the Phillies are so old. Almost all of their top players, including the white starting pitchers are in their early 30's. Also, guys like Rollins and Howard seem to have their best years behind them. Hopefully, the Phillies will go down this year, though of course those starting pitchers will keep them in the hunt I'd guess.
