Well, it's that time of year again, when HS stars fax their letters of intent to play college football. I'll try to break down the major conferences recruiting. If someone would like to help me, that'd be great. I already have the Big 10 done, but all of the other teams and conferences are still open yet. I'd love to get some support with this.

I'm using the points system that Tough J, Jimmy, and I used a couple of years ago.

Here are the amount of points you get for each position.
RB/CB- 4 Points
WR- 3 points
DT- 3 points
Safety- 3 points
ATH- 3 points
LB- 2 points
TE- 2 points
DE- 2 points
QB- 2 points
OL/K/P- 1 point

So, here is the Big 10's Leaders division. It looks like some dark days are ahead for a couple of these teams.

Leaders

Purdue- What a disgrace. Apparantly, they think they need to recruit "southern speed" to win. What they don't know, however, is that "Southern Speed" will be keeping them at the bottom for while. Only two whites out of 15. This is disgusting.
15 commits 13 black, 2 white
5 points
WR -3pts.- Shane Mikeskey
TE -2pts.- Robert Kugler

Indiana- Hey, at least there's a "relatively fair" team every now and then. The white CB is a big plus, but if the Hoosiers keep recruiting white CBs, they might be labeled racists. Surprisingly, most of the whites Indiana recruited are on the defensive side of the ball. No RB, WRs, or QBs though.
21 commits, 13 black, 8 white
15 points
CB -4pts.- Nick Stoner
S -3pts.- Mark Murphy
LB -6pts.- Kyle Kennedy, Zack Shaw, Mike Replogle
TE-2pts.- Jake Reed
OL -2pts.- David Kaminski, Peyton Eckert

Illinois- Wow, I didn't think Ron Zook would come close to recruitng double digit whites, ever. Maybe he finally got the message. Nah, probably just a one year thing, but at least it's in the right direction.
27 recruits 16 black, 11 white
Points - 18
WR-3pts.- Jordan Frysinger (Former RB)
ATH- 3pts.- Matt LaCosse
LB-2pts.- Henry Dickinson
DE-2pts.- Chris O'Conner
QB-2pts.- Reilly O'Toole
OL-5pts.- Ted Karras, Hunter Wells, Scott McDowell, Tony Durkin, Pat Flavin
K-1pt.- Justin DeVernois

Wisconsin- The Badgers are once again "fair" with their recruiting. They must've taken too many white D-Linemen last year, because there isn't nary a one in the recruiting class. The two white safeties and three LBs are a nice plus to this class. Jake Keefer is a stud at LB, as is Mike Caputo in the secondary. The Badgers should remain a powerful force in the Big 10.
20 commits, 11 black, 9 white
Points- 17
S-6pts.- Mike Caputo, Jordan Frederick
ATH-3pts.- Eric Steffes(gray shirt)
LB-6pts.- Jake Keefer, Derek Watt, Derek Landisch
TE-4pts.- Austin Maly, Sam Arneson
OL-1pts.- Taylor Marz

Penn State- Penn State had a nearly half-white class as well. Penn State's class is pretty spread out. Anthony Zettel should be a good player for the Lions. At least they didn't get a black quarterback this year. It's nice to seem them take a few white defensive players too.
16 commits, 9 black, 7 whites
Points- 12 points
WR-3pts.- Matt Zanellato
DE-4pts.- Jordan Kerner, Anthony Zettel
LB-2pts.- Ben Kline
OL- 2pts.- Anthony Alosi, Ryan Nowicki
K-1pts.- Sam Ficken

Ohio State- Ohio State is going to be Thug U North here very quickly if they keep recruiting like this. Out of 23 commits, only five are white. The two OL are both centers, and I think one of them is only going to be a deep snapper. The only highlight of this class is DT Joel Hale. Tressel's recruiting seems to be getting progressivley darker the last two or so years. They got two more black quarterbacks too!
23 Commits, 5 white, 18 black
Points- 8
DT-3pts.- Joel Hale
TE-4pts.- Nick Vannett, Jeff Heuerman
OL-2pts.- Brian Bobek, Bryce Haynes

Legends Division

Nebraska- Not nearly as bad as schools like Ohio State or Purdue. Nebraska recruited 4 out of 5 OL white this year, which should keep them contenders for awhile, especially if Bubba Starling stays at Nebraska. They also got a safety, Bronson Marsh, who officially is part of this class as a gray shirt from last year, and a rush DE, Max Pirman, who decomitted from Indiana. Out of 15 walk-ons this year for Nebraska, 13-14 of them are white, so Nebraska's roster will stay relatively white for a while yet.

21 Commits, 12 black, 9 white
Points-14
S-3pts.- Bronson Marsh(gray shirt from last year, is officially part of this year's class, so I counted him.)
DE-2pts.- Max Pirman
TE-2pts.- David Sutton (current gray shirt, may get a scholarship for this class.)
QB-2pts.- Bubba Starling - stud
OL-4pts.- Ryan Klachko, Ryne Reeves, Zach Sterup, Tyler Moore
K-1pt.- Mauro Bondi

Michigan- I'm hoping some of Michigans DE's are used as OLB, or else at least 2 of them would rot on the bench for Michigan. At least Rich Rod recruited a white QB this year, but that's it for MU.
20 Commits- 6 white, 14 black
Points- 11
DE-8 pts.- Jack Miller, Brennan Beyer, Chris Rock, Keith Heitzman
QB-2pts.- Russel Bellomy
K-1pt.- Matt Wile

Iowa- Disappointing class for Iowa, to say the least. Expect a blacker defense within a couple of years if they keep signing like this. Apparantly, all those overachievers that got them on the map and up to an elite program aren't needed anymore, now that supa affletes know about your school. Ferentz sucks, he needs to get back recruiting players that made him good, or he'll be out of a job in a few years.
23 Commits- 8 white, 15 black
Points-14
TE-6pts.- Henry Krieger, Jake Duzey, Ray Hamilton
LB-2pts.- Cole Fisher
DE-2pts.- Riley McMinn
QB-2pts.- Jake Rudock
OL-2pts.-Dan Heiar, Austin Blythe

Michigan State- Nothing surprising from Michigan State, who, like Ohio State, Purdue, and Michigan, think they need that "Southern speed" to win in the Big Ten. I hope these guys go back to the bottom in a couple years.
21 Commits- 5 white, 17 black
Points-10
DT-6pts.-Matt Ramondo, Mark Scrapinato
TE-2pts.-Paul Lang
QB-2pts.-Connor Cook

Minnesota- Hey a class in a BCS school that's over half white! Even though six are linemen, the fact that their class is over half-white is a stunning achievement in itself. Jerry Kill looks like he whitened up the class a bit when he got to Minnesota. I'm not shedding tears for Tim Brewster at all, completely went away from those white Minnesota boys that are the base of their program. Hopefully, Kill should get back to that.
22 Commits- 12 white, 10 black
Points-19
LB-4pts.- Peter Westerhaus, Quinn Bauducco
S-3pts.- Grayson Levine
TE-2pts.- John Rabe
DE-2pts.- Drew Goodger
QB-2pts.- Max Shortell
OL-6pts.- Joshua Champion, Foster Bush, Joe Bjorklund, Kyle McAvoy, Luke McAvoy, Tommy Olson

Northwestern- Pat Fitzgerald has bought into the belief that you don't need white skill players to win. I wonder how far that'll get him in the Big 10? This is the 2nd year in a row he hasn't recruited any white RBs or WRs.
Commits- 17, 7 white, 10 black
DE-2pts.- Max Chapman
TE-2pts.- Mark Szott
QB-2pts.- Zack Oliver
OL-4pts.- Jack Konopka, Geoff Mogus, Shane Mertz, Matt Frazier Edited by: Jack Lambert

Penn St didn't get any QB on scholarship? How odd. I don't see a scholarship QB for Wisconsin either. I saw Purdue's situation coming...new coach who said as much...we'll see how that works out come November when they have to travel to Wisconsin or Minnesota and have to play in 30-degree weather. I saw Ohio State too. I guess the constant flak Tressel kept getting for losing to SEC teams finally got to him (man, I just wish once that SEC teams would have to play up north in some Big Ten stadium during the first week of January in front of a hostile crowd like the Big Ten has to do down south.) I heard he added some coach from the Florida Gators to his staff recently, too, if I'm no mistaken. I've pretty much lost my respect for him.

Jack Lambert,

You said that Indiana got 8 Whites, but you only mentioned 7 by name. I think you forgot to write Jake Reed? http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/recruiting/player-Jake-Reed-85595

As for Illinois, it was said that they only started 1 White O-lineman this year in their team preview, but I saw at least two Whites playing when I watched Illinois this year.

I know a few years back they brought in several overrated blacks, including a way overrated, slow-footed sumo (RT) that started as a true frosh. Last year, they brought in some White O-lineman, including a big kid from Ohio, but they were initially buried on the depth-chart.. serving their "apprenticeship."

Their RB, Leshoure, had success, but the real weakness in their line has been in pass-protection. NOTE: I'm not "singing the praises" of Illinois, but I think their coaches' may have recognized one of their problems... I expect at least 2 Whites to start on their line next year.

My own examination of D1A recruiting lists reveals that this year is nothing short of an apocalypse for white runningbacks.
I didn't look at other positions. Everyone else can compile those lists. But it's going to be a bad couple of years in college football coming up.

One thing I wanted to note. Tulsa had a very impressive recruiting class with 13 white players, including 1RB, 2WR, and 3DT. Highly unusual and a welcome change.

Another positive: The hiring of Dana Holgorsen has already paid major dividends at West Virginia. He recruited two quarterbacks, both of them white. The reign of the black quarterback looks to be coming to an end in Morgantown.Edited by: Riddlewire

Riddlewire, that is great news about Tulsa and West Virginia. I hate to hear about the overall RB situation though.

Wisconsin has two talented QBS coming in as preferred walk-ons in Joel Stave from Whitnall and Lance Baretz from Franklin. I don't know much about Whitnall, never seen him play in person. But he's a big QB(6'6 230) and has a big arm. I've seen Lance play and the kid is a stud. He's only 6'0 foot but has a strong arm and is a dual threat with 4.5 speed.

I was curious to see how Bobby Hauck would handle his first recruiting class at UNLV. Obviously his first season required him to take recruits that the previous coach had already made offers to, so last year can't be held against him. But this year's class is all his.
So how did he do?

UNLV signed 23 players to scholarships.
14 black
9 white

The white players consisted of:
3OL 2TE 2QB 1DE 1K

Hauck recruited two runningbacks, both of them black scrubs.

Clearly his time at Montana didn't teach him anything.

Thanks for the UNLV write-up, Riddle. It looks like your right about Hauck.

Update: I added the Big Ten Legends division!

I'm very sure Skov and Lasco are mixed, and Boise is probably moving Lukehart to either safety or LB. Surprising to see that Arkansas got both a white WR and S. Please show me a pic of where Brandon Hannah is white, I've always thought he was black. Oh, and Cierki gets to be an LB or a battering ram for Maryland.Edited by: Jack Lambert

He'd better not. If these measurables are accurate, he's 6'3 195 pounds. Unless old Snyder wants to put another 30-40 pounds on him, he's not a TE/H-Back.

Unfortunately thats what it looks like

"

Gronkowski, a receiver and cornerback in high school, will likely play
at H-back or tight end at Kansas State. He will greyshirt - wait until
the second semester to enroll to gain another year of eligibility â€"
similar to what Dan Gronkowski did when he attended the University of
Maryland.

At only 215 pounds, greyshirting is a good way for Gronkowski to bulk up in addition to getting acclimated to the school."His brother looks like he could play wide receiver as well, its just what happens in the caste system.

That's Skov.
You can call him "mixed" if you want. But, to me, that's black (or Incan, Mozambiquean, Atzahuacan, whatever. 0% White).

The DWF "Dawg Nation" is lovin' UGA's "#5" (Rivals) recruiting class. Despite only signing 5 (of 25) White players...

- David Andrews (OL)
- Watts Danzler (OL)
- Zack Debell (OL)
- Hunter Long (OL)
- Nathan Theus (OL)

Why so critical?
That's above average for the SEC this year.
The SEC average recruiting class included 4.67 white players. Georgia fans can be proud that theirs was "more white than the typical recruiting class".

Vandy - 9
Arkansas - 8
Tennessee - 6
Georgia - 5
South Carolina - 5
Alabama - 4
Florida - 4
Auburn - 3
Kentucky - 3
LSU - 3
Miss State - 3
Ole Miss - 3

...and the "New Miss Conformists" tied for last w/ 3. No surprise to see Vandy w/ the most White recruits (having the highest academic standards).

5 O-Lineman...go figure

Sporting News Top 100 for 11'...you can't find a white player on the list until #19 Christian Westerman-OL...and not another til #34 Ben Koyack-TE...that's sad! With Rankings from these so-called"experts"; is it any wonder why the NFL's 1st Roundhavingless white players than the NBA's?? As stated on that thread..Drafts have dramatically changed this past 20 years..how will this disturbingtrend change when you have list like this?? Hoping the 1st Roundin 11'is improved...

Rivals.com has their Louisiana Post Season Top 40 for 11'...ONLY TWO WHITE players! #17 Ethan Hutson- Center (Ole Miss) & #31 Zach Oliver-QB(Northwestern)..there should have been a few more on the list that were overlooked! NEVER have I seen this great a disparity in the rankings+ For the first time I can ever remember the Advocate's Dirty Dozen had no white players....

So true to form...LSU has the the blackest recruiting class in their schools history! Of the 22 Signees only 3 players are white..
QB-Zach Mettenberger JUCO-Transfer soph.(kicked off Georgia's team)
QB-Stephen Rivers (younger bro of Phillip Rivers)
K- James Hairston

OL-Cameron Fordham counts as a new(23rd) signee; greyshirted last year
And...two prefered walk-on's...
Dual-threat QB Jared Foster
LB-Shawn Burst with offers from Arkansas & Tulane supposedly after his Jr year; only FCS Nicholls St offered this year...one blogger on Rivals wonder's "how this good looking prospect size/instincts wasn't ranked"??
MY response was...
Pigeon-holed stereotypes...due to his Jacob Hester skin condition..gritty, hard working/overachiever, blue collar, throwback, etc...I had to sit here reading how Jacob Cutrera did not have the speed to play LB in the SEC; yet he ran 4.53 at Pro Day... never was Ali Highsmith's lack of speed mentioned; despite running 4.9' at the Combine...

Yeah, it will be nice to see a white QB starting in Morgantown. The two black QB backups have already taken a hike out of town, leaving only the overhyped JR-to-be Geno Smith to compete with the two standout white QBs next year.Edited by: Van_Slyke_CF

By my count, Marshall has only 4 white men listed among its 29 commitments-a QB/TE brother combo, and two O-linemen. I had heard they signed one other white O-lineman who graduated early and was supposed to start school in January, but have been unable to confirm this. It's hard to imagine a worse situation from a Caste perspective outside the SEC.

The only positive I can see from Marshall going forward is that the QB position should be manned for years to come between two white players-the new recruit and a true freshman who played some last season.

Otherwise, they are looking more and more like the Steelers.Edited by: Van_Slyke_CF

Here's BYU's class. The Only thing I have to say about these guys is, they have been going so poly crazy this year, that even the black players are feeling left out from BYU. One other thing, hopefully, Preston Hadley will stay at CB for the Cougars.

19 Commits, 8 white, 9 poly, 1 black

Points-14

TE-4pts.- Colby Jorgensen, Matt Sumsion
ATH-3pts.- Stehly Reden
LB-4pts.- Austin Heder, Adam Pulsipher
OL-2pts.- Ryker Mathews, Brian Rawlinson
K-1pt.- Corey EdwardsEdited by: Jack Lambert
