"The Jimmer" has 20 at the half on 8-12 shooting. the only chink in the armor is his 2 turnovers ... and even his haters should see that hisdefense has been strong tonight.

it's a shame this outstanding game is on such a crap network, though.

Thanks for the link, Toby Hillis! It's working great for me, but the game is at the half. This will be the first time I've watched BYU all season. Fredette with 20 points at the half.

There is a disproportionate(understatement) amount of black players on top 25 teams, yet it seems like just about every year an argument can be made that the best player in college basketball is white. In the pastfive years, just off the top of my head, Reddick, Hansbrough, Morrison, and now Freddette. If these guys could only get playing time and a chance to develop in the NBA...

I'm watching the game on CBS College Sports. This being the first time I've seen Fredette play live, I've been more than impressed with him. Some of his moves are just sick. He's awesome to watch.

Nice post Toby. I have pointed that out to my friends in the past. It just seems to go over their heads. The exciting thing to me though is that we are seeing good white kids from this country excelling at the game again. Morrison and Reddick got a raw deal but I 'm hoping Fredette can get a chance to become an all star. His jersey will sell like hotcakes if he goes to the right team!

Hopefully he will get a fair shot in the NBA but so far all I hear about is his "lack of athleticism"

. And hopefully Fredette and BYUtear it up in the tournament this year. Back-to-back, white majority, national champs would REALLY look good for our cause! As Iwrite this...just WOW, that kid is amazing!Edited by: Toby Hillis

he scores again! The Jimmeris on FIYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!! SDSU calls timeout, probablyso that the coach can tell them to triple-team Fredette even if he doesn't have the ball. he is lights-out tonight.

The kid is like a mini Pistol Pete Maravich. Please let him go to the Jazz. That would be a match made in heaven. Sloan is not happy with his point guard and them may trade him. Can you imagine Fredette starting as a rookie in a place that will love and respect him?

In the audio interview I posted, the announcer talked about how the four nba teams he worked out for last year were all suprised by his athletecism. Gee, I wonder why. The kid can play at any level. He just needs the opportunity. Go Fredette!

Can you say 34 points with 12 minutes to go. Incredible. As Dicky Vitale says....this kid is a real p.t. player! Sportscenter will have to have non stop Jimmer hilites. All Jimmer all the time. WOW!

and a nice dunk by Emery on the break. that's the first non-Jimmer points by BYU in a while. if i'm not mistaken, he has 34 of their 50 at the moment and has only missed 4 shots. those numbers are tallies in my head, so they might be off a little bit ... but i think they're pretty close. he's just. not. missing. wow.

Man, this is a great game right now. Fredette might be the best shooter I've ever seen in my years of watching hoops! Every shot he makes is contested.

Pitch perfect performance by Jimmer with the nation watching. Everybody will be watching BYU when the tourney rolls around.

two tough calls on BYU back-to-back: the bump-that-was-called-a-travel and then the clumsy drop-step-called-a-foul. ouch.

edited to add: as usually happens, the bad calls even out as BYU benefits from a questionable goal-tending call.

this game looks like it's going to go down to the wire. it's nice to see some exciting college hoops for a change, rather than the ugly stuff we see so often from the Big East, the SEC, and the Big Ten.Edited by: Jimmy Chitwood

Jimmer is getting a little tired. Can you blame the kid? All is does is carry this team night after night. I'm sure he will get a second or third wind soon. Bring it home BYU. This is too big a game to lose. I want Fredette to get 40 again and for BYU to win.

BYU's White bigs are playing volleyball with it above the rim, meanwhile the token black "mormon" blows his 4th layup of the night.
