I know in the NFL if any part of your arm is on the ground, past your hand, you're down. A play just got overturned for that a couple weeks ago. Don't know if its the same in college.

A receiver rolled over a defender, just like tonight. The refs called him down. After replay upheld the call, the refs stated with complete specificity that contact with any part of the wrist will result in a downed ball.PoliticallyIncorrect said:

Good thing that was Auburn with that play, so the refs did their "jobs" and didn't call it on Auburn, who's gotten so lucky this year it's unbelievable.
Kirk and Brent were beyond annoying tonight. It's funny when ESPN praised Tebow for being a great COLLEGE PLAYER, not an NFL prospect, DWFs got sick of it.
My question is, how can they listen constantly to Kirk's gay manlove for Cam Newton and not barf?

Darron Thomas is rated as the number 4 qb for the 2013 draft. Either 2013 is an incredibly weak year or he is wayyyyyyy overrated. No agenda here move on.......Edited by: white is right

Newton was exposed tonight he looked mediocre at best. He basically looked like Vince Young in the pros. The problem for him he was up against a college defense. I suspect this still won't hurt his draft stock.....Jack Lambert said:

I actually think this was a good game for us.
It showed that these types of offenses (and these types of quarterbacks)just compile a lot of useless yardage, but it doesn't translate into victories if the defense plays correctly.
Furthermore, this game provides a blueprint for how to stop these specific offenses.
For Pac10 teams, they need to stop thinking that defensive speed will somehow allow them to beat Oregon. Instead, they need to get their strongest men and constantly force the LOS back. Thomas is VERY mistake prone when the pocket is collapsing. Even if you leave Oregon's receivers wide open, he won't necessarily throw it anywhere near them.
For the SEC, they need to stop trying to maul Auburn up front. Quit the blitzing. Just stymie the LOS and put a quick guy on the end to prevent the QB from running. Newton will never throw the ball to a defended receiver. He always looks for the wide open man because his accuracy is non-existant.
Of course, this doesn't matter for the SEC, since Newton will be gone next year and Malzahn will reshape the offense for a different quarterback.

The refs were certainly wrong on the roll over tackle tonight. Of course Herbie K (ha so) slobbers on and on about it being the "right" call. Auburn gets an asterisk by their entry in my book, and "Superman" couldn't win it for them; it had to be the leg of a White man that won their mythical championship. I guarantee you the SEC would have way less than 5 straight real national championships in a legit playoff system. A very down note to end the college football season on.
The media gets to shower Scam Newton and Auburn with more love. They so desperately want Scam to be Superman...the new black QB to take the reigns from Vick (since he will be toast in a couple more years). All the latest black savior QBs have been busts and Donovan McNabb is about to retire soon.
So they need a new poster boy. Scam is their hero.

Oregon's "D" (aside from a few Whites) hasn't impressed me this season, but, guess what, they only allowed 22-points to "SuperScam"... In this "NCG" -- we got the best of both worlds! For the record, I never implied that I wanted Oregon to be blown-out... I recognized the inferiority of Darron Thomas, though.
And, I've watched some ESPN today, and THEY KNOW that Newton DID NOT put on a tour-de-force display!

snow, maybe Thomas bought into the hype about sCam Newton and the incredibly afroletic SEC team too. I wouldn't be too surprised at his smiling and hugging the opposition. That is fairly typical black behavior at any level of the game.

Just as I expected, ESPN has dedicated a big time slot about how the SEC has won 5 straight national titles. The SEC myth continues. They need a playoff system but that will never happen, because who is to say TCU wouldn't beat Auburn? Andy Dalton wouldn't have made the mistakes that Thomas made.
