Ridiculously Early 2010 Saints Roster: Safety already being posted on local papers and websites. 4 levels Definite, Likely, On the Bubble, Longshot show the probability of them making the final roster.

LIKELY Backup S / Special Teams Chris Reis - has excellent chances of cracking the roster simply for his special teams ability. Reis also seems to have won over the hearts of Saints coaches with his hard work and attitude.

LONGSHOT S Ryan Hamilton former Vanderbilt standout Ryan Hamilton easily has the furthest to go and the most to prove of the bunch if he wants to be considered for the practice squad, let alone the final 53-man roster. Unless he pulls out all the stops this summer, I don't think he'll be a member of the team when the the regular season begins.

LONGSHOT WR Matt Simon Northern Illinois. He was given a tryout last year as well and made the practice squad for a little while. He has had problems with his shoulders, meaning that after an excellent junior year, his production really tailed off and he missed some games. Has good size at 6'1.5 and 215 pounds too. He will obviously face "blacketition" but I would love him to get a practice squad spot.

Even though WR is a position where Whites have made small gains in recent years, Sean Peyton has yet to give one a chance. And several very good ones have passed through since he's been head coach so it's hard to have any hope for Simon at this point.

Several good ones and a couple GREAT ones. In 06 the 6th Round we took Mike Hass after wasting the second pick on Reggie Bush. I was ecstatic, the possibilities, forgetting we even had a 7th rounder. Then low and behold they let 7th Round pick Marques Colston start and get all the chances while Hass was cut. Drew Brees gun slinging would make Hass a Pro Bowler now he is falling out of place in Seattle.

Hopefully Pete Carroll has seen enough nightmares of Hass in the past and gives him a fair chance to start.

A little disapointing to see the 80 Man Training Camp Roster breakdown:

22 white...55 black...1 poly...2 mixed...nearly identical to the Bengals.

Scott Shanle has one LB spot locked-down...Troy Evans is in a 3/4 man competition forScott Fujita's LB spot....Jeff Charleston(still suprised Colts released him) will be in the DE rotation....DB- Chris Reis is capable of playing more safety.

WR-Matt Simon was released and picked up by the Seahawks today...Andy Tanner (rookie) from tiny-Midwestern State is the only white WR remaing in camp...hope to see him get on the field tommorrow night vs Patriots. TE's Jeremy Shockey & Dave Thomas are a big-part of the passing game!

Hopefully FB-Heath Evans surgically repaired knee is ready to go! The Saints missed his versatility w/o him in the line-up back 1/2 of last season! Mike Bell (Eagles) replacement Lynel Hamilton was lost for the year with a ACL injury today...it would be good to see Evans get more of those short-yardage opportunities! This is a team I'd like Jacob Hester join...

The Saints look strong again this year...difference is they will have a target on their back.

It was Bush who supposedly asked the Saints to draft Hass. I guess getting support from a superman afflete doesn't help these days.

Jonathan Casillas placed on IR:

Casillas done for the year: Saints projected starting linebacker Jonathan Casillas will be out for the season with a foot injury. Casillas appeared to have earned the starting spot that opened up when linebacker Scott Fujita left in free agency, but was hurt in the final preseason game at Tennessee on Thursday night.

Clint Ingram placed on PUP list:

They are a team that needs White linebackers!
