Some idiots are projecting him to play linebacker in the NFL. He has the athletic ability to play running back but we all know how it goes.
Although I would prefer that he play WR, like he did his last year at Kent, having an absolute freak like him at linebacker would be a plus as well, and will continue the "whitening" at that position. All of the LBs that are hyped for the draft this year are affletes, even though there are probably a dozen or so white 'backers from obscure programs who can run circles around them. Look at all of the ridiculous hype that Rolando McClain has garnered this year, similar to Aaron Curry last year. And look how Curry turned out compared to those terrible unathletic white guys who were drafted later.

Nice find, celticdb15.  I was watching NFL Network's "Paff to the Draff" a little bit ago and all they focused on were black guys, and every single one was described, without fail, as "athletic."  The mantra just gets more and more overused over time.  (Oh, and there was also the obligatory five minute puff piece on Myron Rolle and his older brother, who is his agent and is already fielding numerous interview requests and corporate endorsement prospects).  Konz, languishing unknown at Kent State, looks to be more athletic than any of them.

Don, don't forget, pretty every one of the affletes is also described as a "game changer", "can't miss prospect", or the usual "powerful" and "explosive".

The average dwf must think that every time his team uses a pick on an afflete that "his" team is instantly improved to a point where they are legit SB contenders.

Simply insane! A 46 inch VJ would tie the NFL combine record according to NFLdraftscout's records that go back to 1999. And a 4.38 40 and a 10'8" Broad Jump for someone his size is also absolutely ridiculous explosiveness. As I said, this guy and Cody Slate could be potential great H-Backs/ tailbacks (or TEs) in the NFL. Konz has played LB too. This guy is a truly versatile FREAK of nature! He's a Matt Jones type freak!

he's not a FREAK of nature, he's just yet one more (ofthe many) talented White athletes who the Caste System tries to crush into oblivion.

i mentioned Konz a couple of years ago, wondering why the fastest player on Kent State's team (according to coaches and players) was languishing as an under-utilized tight end/multi-position defensiveplayer.

it seems that for most White athletes, their versatility is used against them. this is especially noticeable when the athlete has truly impressive physical skills. hell, the University of Arkansas alone has made a habit out of trying to inhibit dominant White athletes by not allowing them to star at a high-profile position.elitetalents such asPeyton Hillis, Tom Crowder, Jeb Huckeba, and Mitch Petrus (to mention a few well-known players) were all shuffled around to multiple positions throughout their careers and consequently didn't receive the recognition/accolades/NFL contracts their talents should have garnered. if this many White kids have been jerked around in the past couple of years at Arkansas, imagine how often this has happened around the country in the last couple of decades.

Konz is just another example of this, and a particularly vivid one at that.

Thank you.

In track the caste treatment is about the same. Every time a white comes close to breaking 10 seconds or runs a good 60 meter dash, an article comes out, "so and so is an anomoly, but he doesn't care." This happens every time, just like comparing white wide receivers to other white slot receivers, this is meant to create a self-fulfilling prophecy of failure and to keep white athletic performace in perspective, always when they perform well in events that according to the media they shouldn't perform well in.

I've noticed during the 30 year long Caste System that the NFL seems particularly eager to suppress tall and fast White wide receivers, of which there are many. Thefew who eventually do get an opportunity (almost always after being kicked around the league for years on end) tend to be the smaller "Wes Welker and Wayne Chrebet types." The deep threat, big play White receiver is just as much a threat to Caste System mythology as the White running back and cornerback.

And when one does break through, ala Drew Bennett in 2004 -- which was the only time he had a White QB throwing to him -- and almost effortlessly dominated black defensive backfields --he is quickly "put back in his place." Bill Schroeder is another example, as was Patrick Jeffers. The much despised Schroeder went to a small school, Bennett was a backup college QB, and Jeffers was a late round draft pick who was buried on the bench for the first few years of his NFL career until exploding onto the scene with the Panthers in '99.

One could fillNFL rosters with White WRs just out of small programs who would be better than the hand-eye coordinated challenged, poor route runners that dominate the league today.Edited by: Don Wassall

I don't see how someone with those kind of stats can fall out of round 1...except for the (BS) caste system!

A true White rebirth at the wide receiver position needs Patrick Jeffers types. Imagine someone with Jameson Konz's attributes being featured every bit as much as Austin Collie, or better yet Wes Welker. It would be a large strike against the decades long arranged monopoly of Blacks at the position.

JC, I would call a black with those measurables a freak too. I didn't mean it in a caste sense. A 46 inch vertical ties the NFL record at the combine (and Konz is 6'3" 234 lbs). This guy could get PT as a tailback (even though he didn't play the position in college, I think he could play it- particularly if he played HB in H.S- and be good), he could also line up as a WR or as a H-Back/TE. Konz measurements are COMPLETELY OFF THE CHARTS in the vertical leap and COMPLETELY OFF THE CHARTS everywhere else for someone his size! Jevon Kearse was called "the freak" even though he's black. I guess all blacks are considered "supermen" and "freaks" by the dwfs so the term isn't used much on them.

I would also call a black version of Konz a freak. I'm an equal opportunity offender!

*Update: I will continue to update this list, cynicaloptimist, as Pro Day results come in.

A look at what this draft would look like for our guys without the caste system. Unfortunately every year phenomenal talents like Nile Knapp disappear after H.S to Div. III, the NAIA- or give up football all together due to lack of scholarships (so this isn't literally w/o a caste system). The dearth of white RBs in the FBS is saddening. The unfortunate treatment of our guys applies to most every position at times. As JC said- guys like Jameson Konz got jerked around in their careers at multiple positions, so caste coaching lowers their ranking unfortunately (due to lack of productivity). They should have picked offense or defense for Konz from the get-go ie. TE, WR, H-back, RB, LB or Safety.

*Note: Anyone listed as a PFA (priority free agent) or above, has the athletic tools- AND has shown at least some signs on the field they could make it in the NFL. Usually 7th round draft picks and PFAs are "sleepers" that could turn out to be nice players, but aren't worth an early pick. If a team gives these guys proper coaching and actually gives them good opportunity- they can succeed. I will list the players ranking if they are in the top 10 at either QB, RB or WR!

The 5 year draft average for RBs is 19 drafted. The FA trend number for RBs is 35. Here is my best attempt at a fair assessment of the limited number of white RBs given a chance to be successful in NCAA football.
RB:
1. Toby Gerhart (1st round) #1 RB; The best rushing prospect in this draft. Spiller and Best aren't far behind as rushing threats and Spiller is an absolute phenom receiving and returning kicks- Still Gerhart has shown some recent encouraging signs of potential as a receiver.
2. Jake Sharp (3rd/4th round) #9 RB *Nice Pro Day; combine snub
3. Trevyn Smith (5th round) *Combine snub
4. Blake Smolen (6th round) *WR prospect also; combine snub
5. Luke Lippincott (7th round) *Knee injury history/turf toe
6. David McCarty (7th round)
7. David Sinisi (PFA)
8. Kevin Harris (Possible tryout player) Has shown glimpses of legit NFL potential, but struggled through injuries and caste coaching- therefore he had low productivity
9. Jared Hawkins (Possible tryout player) " " Read above
10. J.T Rogen (Possible tryout player)
11. Trevor Theriot (Possible tryout player) Caste coaching and injuries ruined his career
12. Chad Kackert (Possible tryout player)

The year of the white WR! The 5 year average for WRs drafted is 33. The FA trend for WRs is 78. There are SO MANY good white WRs this year, that some are bound to get screwed.
smiley19.gif

WR:
1. Eric Decker (1st round) #3 WR *I'd rank him higher if healthy
2. Jordan Shipley (1st/2nd round) #5 WR
3. Blair White (2nd round) #7 WR
4. Riley Cooper (2nd round) #8 WR
5. Chris McGaha (3rd round)
6. Marc Mariani (3rd/4th round)
7. Kerry Meier (4th round)
8. Tim Toone (4th round)
9. Kevin Jurovich (4th/5th round)
10. Ryan Wolfe (5th round)
11. Bryan Anderson (6th round)
12. Andrew Brewer (6th/7th round)
13. Pat Simonds (7th round)
14. Max Komar (7th round/PFA)
15. Brett Hamlin (7th round/PFA)
16. Austin Rogers (PFA) *Knee injury history
17. Johnny Spevak (PFA)
18. Bobby Sewall (PFA)
19. Zeke Markshausen (FA)
20. Shawn Leonard (FA)
21. Harry Von Kann (FA)
22. Trey Stross (Possible tryout player)
23. Ryan Christian (Possible tryout player) *RB prospect also
24. Brad Kanuch (Possible tryout player)
25. Rocky Ross (Possible tryout player)

12 white athletes who could be used at multiple positions:
*In order of best position to worst in my opine
1. Tim Tebow (QB/Wildcat/RB/TE/WR) 1st round; #3 QB
2. Dennis Pitta (TE/WR/H-Back) 2nd round; #3 TE
3. Dan Lefevour (QB/Wildcat/RB) 2nd/3rd round; #6 QB
4. Jameson Konz (TE/WR/H-Back/RB) 4th round, #9 TE
5. Kerry Meier (WR/Wildcat/H-Back/TE/QB) 4th round
6. Blake Smolen (RB/WR) 6th round
7. Andrew Brewer (WR/Wildcat/QB)
8. Cody Slate (TE/H-Back/WR) 7th round; knee injury history
9. David McCarty (RB/WR) 7th round/PFA
10. Willie Rose (H-Back/RB/FB) 7th round/PFA
11. Matt Grothe (Wildcat/RB/WR/QB/S) PFA; knee injury history
12. Trevor Theriot (RB/H-Back/FB) Possible Tryout player; knee injury history and a victim of caste coaching after a stellar H.S career as a tailback

JC, Colonel Reb and others- let me know your thoughts and if I've missed any offensive skill players of note. I'm always more tuned into offensive skill players when I watch football, so those are the only guys I rank. I also focus much more on WRs than TEs.

BTW, I see Jameson Konz as a Vernon Davis type TE due to his body type, but of course he could very well be tried at WR or RB too if fair! I'd love to see someone else do some QB, TE, FB or defensive rankings if they had time to take the initiative. Cheers guys!Edited by: ToughJ.Riggins

Great work as usual TJR and rest of gang. What a find this Konz! TE or LB does not matter to me. Get this guy on the field is my motto and let him create havoc. Look at the Packers LB Matthews and how fast and disruptive he was this year. Konz and the hyper quick Endelman--these guys were not hyped at all at Kent State. As for the list above in a word superb. These are great players and Shipley, Cooper, Decker and White are the best bunch of white wr's to enter draft in a long time Hidden gems like Szczur and Mariani have speed. And this notion that Jordan Shipley would be left in the dust by these combine numbers gets my goat. Shipley blew by people in college and will blow by people in the pros.If Sharp is not drafted I will puke.

Here's a guy not even we give much exposure to. Austin Spitler of Ohio State, looks like he had a pretty impressive pro day.
Outside linebacker Austin Spitler, a 6-foot-2, 243-pound projected middle-round to late-round projection, clocked a 4.23 short shuttle and a 6.7 three-cone drill with a 32-inch vertical leap and bench pressed 225 pounds 32 times, according to a league source.

Tough J, good call on Andrew Brewer. He recently rana 4.6 and 4.62 recorded a 39 inch vertical and 10 foot broad jump. In the same article Mike Kafka had an impressive pro day showing. He's one of my favorite QB prospects because of his combination of running and throwing ability. I think any team that drafts him will be getting a steal.

Andrew Brewer can play quarterback/wildcat qb as well as wide receiver and return man

This person put together 6 different videos of all his footage, sadly I don't think any dwf will watch all 6 of them, if I ever get time I will try to condense them to just one video, I already have different footage of him (different angles) but its not complete.

Andrew Brewer quarterback throws and runs

Andrew Brewer special teams/return man

Brewer run blocking

Andrew Brewer short routes

Andrew Brewer mid routes

Andrew Brewer deep routes

This looks like video put together for scouts

Edit: yeah its a company and its made for scouts

They have worked with other White players like Peter Ittersagen , Andy Studebaker and David Kircus. Looking at their site, its good to know Ittersagen is getting a shot in the CFL, he was signed to Toronto, I wish he would have gotten a real shot in the NFL but he might have a real chance to start at CB in the CFL.

Good find Dwid. If I remember correctly didn't Brewer only play WR for two years in college?

I believe so, he was similar to Meier in that he was originally a qb that switched to WR, he had around 70 pass attempts in 06, I think he started the season off as a QB and then was moved to WR, but only had 1 reception then broke his arm for the 07 season.

Wide receiver Max Komar was unofficially clocked between 4.51 and 4.55 in the 40 at Idaho's Pro Day.

Note: It was held outside in wet conditions (which makes this time even better). On top of running a solid time, Komar didn't drop a single pass in position drills!

My Take: Komar has shown himself to be a better prospect than I thought he was. I've moved this 1,000 yard receiver up in my rankings. I only got the opportunity to watch him once in his college career and he didn't have a good game that day.

Maragos has Some Speed w/ Lightning Agility & Quicks!

"DB Chris Maragos (5-foot-10 1/2, 200 pounds) performed so well that he may just find himself getting drafted in the late rounds come April. He ran the 40-yard dash in 4.50 and 4.47 seconds, had a 36-inch vertical jump, a 10-foot broad jump and did 15 repetitions in the bench press at 225 pounds.

Where Maragos really made his mark was in the agility drills. Quickness is a vital attribute for defensive backs, and Maragos showed he has what it takes athletically. His 6.55-second three-cone drill and 3.98-second short shuttle would have been the best times at the NFL Scouting Combine for any position. He also did position drills."

Great finds guys, there seems to be even more talent around this year, especially in late rounds/PFA. Now if only there was a team like BYU in the NFL.....something tells me after three years of picking up most of the guys listed on this site (which would be entirely possible without ever using a 1st round pick!) they'd be contending for conference champs at the least!

Just looking at the quality available it defy s logic that this many guys slip through the cracks. I mean if a team somehow managed to obtain all 32 7th round picks they could easily draft these guys and get more production then any of the "top talent" being touted in all the promos. Will the cycle of Jamacus Russells, Aaron Currys, Tyson Jacksons, Heyward-Beys ever end?

I'll update all the info found tomorrow, bit busy today, but keep it coming!

That'simpressive, I always pictured Chris as a 4.6 guy. With those times and a productive senior year he SHOULD get drafted. I read somewhere that Chris's mentor is another Wisconsin guy, Jim Leonhard.

I don't think this kid has ever been mentioned here but he plays for Brown. His name is Bobby Sewall and ran a 4.41 and 4.43 on his Pro Day along with a 41 inch vertical!!http://blogs.nfl.com/category/pro-days/

These are some incredible numbers but he's a long shot to be drafted being that he's white and plays for an Ivy League school.

I should add, Sewall actually went over 900 receiving yards in the '08 season on 13.7 YPC. He has run the ball with some success too. This past season he only averaged 8.9 YPC though and had just under 600 receiving yards. He may be a better prospect than I previously stated. With his '08 yards I didn't add up- he has plenty of yards for his career. Good find WA33! If I could find film of him, I may put him in my top 25 white WRs as a tryout player.

Great stuff guys, looks like big numbers all over the place. Saw Scott Sicko has a nice day too, ran a 4.53 40, 35 inch vert, 10' 2" broad, 4.56 short shuttle, 6.96 three-cone drill and 22 reps in the bench press.

Link

Will update first page over the course of today.

Also off topic but Hillis to Browns as part of the Quinn trade, he could actually get a chance running the ball!

Edit: Think that's the first page up to date. Keep all the info coming it's looking extremely positive so far!
