The fans of the NBA truly are drunk to pick Iverson. The stupidity of the DWF's never ceases to amaze me.  The only NBA team I can bare to watch is the Knicks because of Lee and Gallinari who will only get better.  When I see the DWF's and their kids in these stadiums with Allen Iverson and Lebron James jerseys on I get sick to my stomach.  They cheer like idiots for a bunch of gang bangers and gobble down their salted snacks.

Very true assessment of the NBA's version of the drunk white morons.

I don't think the NBA will admit to such a thing. But in truth, there are attendance problems. Either they are cleverly disguised, or people (whites espcially) are too dumb to bother with such things. They'd rather drool over players like Iverson, Lebron, and Kobe.

Chris Quinn got a lot of playing time last night for the lowly Nets who will probably end up with the worst record of all time this season. Humphries also gets quite a few minutes.

Goran Dragic scored 20 points against the Warriors and follows that up with a 32 point effort against the Jazz. This shows great mental strength to come back like that after getting dunked on viciously. He should get more playing time now that Barbosa is out and Richardson's sucking.

Getting off of the beaten path here a bit, but check out this article about Glen "Big Baby" Davis wanting to change his nickname. The article itself is nothing special, but check out the comments below for the suggested nicknames............

Dragic is fortunate to play alongside living legend Steve Nash. He'll learn a thing or two from Nash. Defensively, he's got a chance to be as good as Hinrich.

More TNB this time from "Pig James."   http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/blog/ball_dont_lie/post/Video-LeBron-James-wet-and-wild-temper-tantrum?urn=nba,216566The DWF's refuse to admit that most of these affletes are nothing more than big kids.

WA33, good post...you beat me to the punch in putting here on CF. "Queen Lebro(w)n" James is another self-important, egomaniacal, overhyped afrolete pulling the standard TNB. It's in his nature to behave as such.

The DWF's idolize him and made him the top vote getter for the All-Star game. He is considered "not so bad" by them because he doesn't have a criminal record as of yet. Then again even affletes with criminal records 20 pages long are idolized by the DWF's.

Likely an exaggeration, but what kind of financial condition would the NBA be in without all the love it gets from ESPN and the rest of the corporate media?

Stern says NBA faces 400 million dollars in losses

NBA commissioner David Stern has said the league is projecting losses of some 400 million dollars this season, and has lost hundreds of millions in each year of the current labor contract.

Stern said the NBA has shown the players' association those numbers in hopes of demonstrating why the league wants "significant changes" in the next deal.

The current collective bargaining agreement expires in July 2011, and this weekend's All-Star festivities come amid rumblings that players and management are far apart on the issues and labor unrest or even a work stoppage could be in the league's future.

The league's first proposal for a deal to replace the one that expires next year was thrown out on Friday after what Billy Hunter, director of the players' union, called a "contentious" 90-minute meeting.

Hunter said the proposal called for harsh changes that would affect every NBA player.

Stern, in his annual All-Star press conference, said such changes may seem harsh, but the league believes significant action is necessary.

"The right adjectives were thrown around, and our proposal appropriately denounced. Our response is, 'You can denounce it, tear it up, you can burn it, you can jump up and down on it, as long as you understand that it reflects the financial realities of where we are,"' Stern said.

"And if you would like to have your own proposal, as long as it comes back and deals with our financial realities, that's OK with us. That's fine with us. In fact, that's what we would like to do."

Hunter said Friday that the union wanted to preserve the NBA brand, but wants an equitable agreement.

"I think that everybody has a different sense of things and nobody wants to see this thing that David Stern has worked and built, the NBA, the successful entity that it is, the brand, we're not out to damage it or destroy it," Hunter said.

"So we're going to make every effort to get an agreement done, we just want an agreement that's a lot more equitable and one that doesn't have a structure that's oppressive."

While Stern criticized the union's behavior at Friday's meeting as "theatrical," he was also harshly critical of anonymous comments by NBA team executives that amped up the bargaining rhetoric.

"If you know me, and you know our owners, that's not what we do," he said. "That's not us. And the players were upset with those quotes, which I find cowardly, if they were actually said," Stern said. "And if I ever found out who said them, they would be dealt with. They would be former, former NBA people, not current. And we assured the stars of that."

Well the games aren't all that fun to watch. There are too many of them plus they lack structure and fundamentals. Plus, you get a feeling that the players are dogging it. It also may be dawning on people that maybe the best basketball players aren't all playing in the NBA. Yeah the super stars are great but the rest of the players are interchangeable. The NBA is just like the NFL.

Let's get the best players and I have no doubt that each team would have at least four or five whites. The West All-Star team had four whites. 4.5 if you count Jason Kidd. So basically whites had the best shooter, the two best passers and ball handlers and two of the best post scoorers and rebounders on the West team. So all the blacks have now is dunking. And hearing about this years crappy dunk contest they can't even do that.

Basketball is my sport and I have followed the NBA for years. If there is anything you want me to
comment on let me know.

The NBA is in trouble. If I were David Stern I would market white players more and try to find/manufacture the next Larry Bird. Speaking of Larry Bird someone needs to tell Kevin Love to lose some weight. I think that his game is very similar to Larry Bird. And I have said this for two years. He has the size, skill and heart but they need him to be a Bird type player. If I were them I would trade Al Jefferson for a legit defensive center. Bring Rubio in in a couple of years and they can be real good.

I like how white players are beginning to own the power forward position. Now we need some good perimeter players.

There was a brief period of the all-star game when there were four whites and one mixed race player on the court for the West All-Stars: Kamen, Nowitzki, Nash, Gasol and Kidd were playing for the West and David Lee was on the court for the East.
106,000 was the most people ever to watch a basketball game in the history of the game.

Hearing that a record was broken for attendance brings back memories of a NBA game I attended. It was 1975 in the Superdome. Los Angeles Lakers vs. the New Orleans Jazz. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Pistol Pete Maravich. Believe it or not, it set an attendance record for a NBA game of over 26,000. It came a flood that night in New Orleans and surrounding areas. Pistol Pete's house flooded, and he had to travel by boat to get out of the neighborhood and make it to the game. He scored 30 points that night, and the Jazz beat the Lakers 113-110. Pistol Pete was one of a kind.

It looks like Darko will be starting for the Timberwolves if only for a few games.  http://www.nba.com/2010/news/03/04/wolves.milicic.ap/index.html?ls=iref:nbahpt2He still plans to return to Europe to play after this season.  Maybe it's for the best.

Would still love to see this guy get 30 minutes a night and see what Darkko can do. He has all the athleticism you could need and Chauncey Billups said he could be a star from his Piston days. I don't think Darko has been given a fair opportunity for such a high draft pick and maybe Darko is not right in the head or has poor practice habits. Just guessing anyway at the problem.

Damn that was sweet. Call him the elevator man! Lol. I would be nice to see him continue to get minutes in the Pacers Lineup and maybe get into the Dunk Contest next year.
