A speedy WR to watch for 2011.....looks like it's between Iowa & Missouri

The FieldTurf at the Alamodome is notoriously known as a slow track. But don't tell Wesley Leftwich that. The 6-foot-1, 195-pound receiver for Columbia (Mo.) Hickman blistered the competition at Friday's Army National Combine with a 40-yard dash time of 4.31 seconds. Leftwich's 4.31 time will go down as one of the fastest times ever recorded at a combine event. If you watch Leftwich's film, you can definitely see he's fast, but who would have thought anybody would run a 4.31 time on a normally slower track.

i don't have a rivals membership, so i couldn't see the highlights ... but he has posted these from his junior year on youtube. it looks like he has velcro on his hands.

also, how "strange" of Rivals to list him as running a 4.4 when he actually ran a 4.31 at a certified combine with a notoriously slow track. "weird," don't you think? i hate those guys.

Dallas Burroughs from Meridian ID ran the 6th fastest time at 4.44. He is the little brother to Boise St backup WR Mitch Burroughs.

1) Wesley Leftwich, WR, 6-1/195, Columbia (Mo.) Hickman
Time: 4.31 seconds
2) Ted Lampkin, WR, 5-9/160, Omaha (Neb.) Central
Time: 4.37 seconds
3) Damiere Byrd, ATH, 5-10/160, Sicklerville (N.J.) Timber Creek
Time: 4.38 seconds
4) Shane Wynn, WR, 5-6/150, Cleveland (Ohio) Glenville
Time: 4.38 seconds
5) Brandon Wright, RB, 5-10/180, Las Vegas Palo Verde
Time: 4.40 seconds
6) Dallas Burroughs, WR, 5-10/175, Meridian (Idaho) Rocky Mountain
Time: 4.44 seconds
7) Keante Minor, WR, 6-1/190, East St. Louis, Ill.
Time: 4.47 seconds
8) Jarrod Spears, RB, 5-8/180, Angier (N.C.) Harnett Central
Time: 4.50 seconds
9) Ryan Henderson, RB, 5-10/165, Moreno Valley (Calif.) Rancho Verde
Time: 4.53 seconds
10) Ralph David Abernathy, RB, 5-7/165, Atlanta (Ga.) Westminster
Time: 4.53 seconds

Notice how tiny most of the black players are in this list. All of these players are rated 4 star prospects by Rivals, with the exception of Burroughs (white, no rating) and Spears (black, no rating).

How the heck is Abernathy a 4 star RB prospect at 5-7,165 lbs with 4.53 speed??

Of course on his Rivals profile, they have him listed with "4.4" speed.Edited by: SteveB

"Sporting News Top 100 Players" has him listed among the Top 12 WR's...he & Jaxon Shipley look like the only white WR's out of 12.
