Any update on Woodhead's injury?

I guess I'll just go to bed for now and check tomorrow to see if there's any updates on Topix and I'll report back.

Glad to see Danny finally get some carries...if only 3. Hope he's healthy and gets more reps.

I still don't see any new info on Danny, but he must be fine or else they'd be talking about him.

The only thing I found on Woodhead is that he was shaken up a bit on a play.  I don't think it's anything to worry about.

from rotoworld:

Danny Woodhead will serve as the Jets' third-down back with Leon Washington (leg) out for the season.

Rookie Shonn Greene is not a good enough pass-catcher to fill that role. Woodhead was a training camp darling that was signed to the active roster as a wide receiver last week due to Jerricho Cotchery and Brad Smith's injuries. He won't have any fantasy value, but this is a reminder not to go overboard with Greene.

here's the article

Great news! Thanks for the news, backrow. I told Danny to take full advantage of every opportunity he is presented with.

My local paper here says that Woodhead could possibly move back from wide receiver to runningback to help out.  It doesn't mention anything about him being a third down back.

it was confirmed, Ryan stated he is moving him back to RB since they need a 3rd down back. Jones and Greene are very similar, as i stated before, they are interchangeable. what Washington used to bring, they can find in Danny. and that's needed in the mix.

I hope you are right Backrow because the paper I read today said something a little bit different.  Hopefully he will see some carries.

C'mon don't you think the Jets are scrambling to find some black retread running back to insert into that slot? It will only be out of desperation that Woodhead ends up being used. Anyway if there is even one black back of minor skill, like Greene, he will get all of the action even if he can't catch or do the things needed. Keep your eyes on the waiver wire.

they seem pretty set on using Danny, we'll find out sunday I suppose. It should be a pretty good cast breaking game, Jets have Danny with Leonhard and Smith as DB's and Dolphins have Hartline, Camarillo, and Fasano.

Oh boy, this is great news! I really do want Woodhead to get playing time and can't wait for Sunday. He is the real McCoy and will explode on third downs, no doubt in my mind.

He had 3 carries for 24 yds sunday, including a 16 yarder. Its a highlight on his nfl.com page. http://www.nfl.com/players/dannywoodhead/profile?id=WOO302348Edited by: KG2422

That was a nice run by Danny. It cracked me up at the end of the play, 55 gives Danny an extended look like wtf? 55 must have thought he was seeing things. Guy probably hasn't tackled a white scat back since high school. That was one confused negro lol.

No kidding, a very sad but true statement if you think about it.

I notice the same thing, lol. Woodhead might be one of the best runningbacks I've seen in a while, honestly. Maybe it's because I haven't seen Hillis play that much lately, but Woodhead is just too good. He has such a fast burst once he passes the line of scrimmage. Imagine if he got even 225 carries a year. I would bet a lot of money that he'd break 1000 yards.

I think Woodhead could go for 1,000 yards on slightly less than 200 carries, for the Jets, StarWars. Man did Woodhead look good in that 16 yard run. Woodhead has a little Barry Sanders in him. He has has some of the best lateral agility of almost any back I've seen since Barry retired. Woodhead's 20 yard burst is off the charts, he's a phenom. He's just as good or better than Peyton Hillis in a completely different way!

I watched that game and after that run Dan Dierdorf made a comment like (I'm paraphrasing) "The Raider defense is really pathetic if they are going to let a Danny Woodhead break off runs like that.."

If he could stay healthy and get enough carries, he would easily gain over 1,000 yards.

That was a very awe provoking run. Any unbiased fan should have been mesmerized by how quick Danny hit that hole and juked to make the first guy grab air without slowing down. And Danny finished it off by lowering his shoulder into a wall of multiple defenders to get as many yards as he could instead of running out of bounds. Dierdorf is a clear cut anti-white racist for making fun of Danny after a run like this. I can name the guys on one hand, in my lifetime, who can make a guy miss with a more impressive style than Danny can- and somehow he gets mocked for it. What a joke American football is!

Too bad those anti-white caste clowns hide behind the media wall of shame. I've looked for that clown Wiley's email at ESPN (the fraud) and for the life of me cannot find it. Dierdorf I assume being so stupid and brain damaged from a lifetime of alcohol abuse its not worth trying to find an email address he probably cannot fathom how the net works.

If Danny were black things would be much different for him.  He wouldn't have to play for such a small school and would have had tons of offers from Div 1.  He would excel in college and get drafted.  Noone would mention his lack of size.  Darren Sproles, Warrick Dunn, and Garrett Wolfe are the same size as Woodhead and are playing in the NFL.   Dunn was even a feature back for many years.  The difference here is that Sproles played for Kansas State, Dunn played for Florida State, and Wolfe for Northern Illinois.  Woodhead had to settle for Chadron State despite setting numerous records in Nebraska.  He also tested as the most athletic back.
