Thanks for the post. Really appreciate that there is someone else who likes high school track & field. I was unaware of this guy---or just assumed that he is black.

I know hurdles don't get alot of play, especially the 400 hurd, but has anybody posted about van Zyl's going sub 48 in monaco a couple of weeks back.Bested Bershawn Jackson and Danny Mcfarland(man how long has that guy been around?). Season's top mark thus far.

Ya, I did notice that but forgot to post it in all the hype with the 100/200. Bayer also jumped 8.49. Wariner is starting to look himself again, and Berlin is 5 days away. I think the highlight of this season thus ar is David Gillick going 44.77. Second is Christophe 10.04.

Going into this wkend, Barrett Nugent has the fastest collegiate time in the 60m hurdles.
Hopefully he's on his way to a great season. He's a sophomore now.

Barrett won the 60m Hurdles at the SEC championships today.
His time was 7.65, which is a new PB, and the 3rd fastest collegiate in the country.

Thanks for posting this. I had forgot about Barrett. This kid is the real deal. Congrats Barrett. Keep making us proud. He has such nice form for a hurdler.

Barrett took 5th today at the national championships in a time of 13.35. Not bad for a sophomore!
He was also runner-up at the NCAA championships.
Let's hope he keeps improving. It would be nice to have a top level white hurdler from the US for a change.

That is the best news I've seen in a while. It would be great to see a white american male hurdler. I love the guys form and he has good speed. Here is to him getting a little stronger and faster over his last two years of college. Excellent showing by the all american!

I have a feeling that the 110 high hurdles will be the next event that whites gravitate towards. The 400 meters and Long Jump are looking better all of the time. It's now time for whites to get their times in the hurdles down lower. Even Svoboda has already run a 13.27 this season. Give it a few more years and we will see more or our guys making the finals. The bottom line is that our guys need to get into the sub 13.10 range to win on a consistant basis.

Barrett won the Texas Relays yesterday with a time of 13.19w (3.5).
He beat some serious competition, so I'm hoping he really makes a break through this season.

He is the best 110 high hurdles prospect that we have had to root for in the US for a very long time. He is only a junior so I hope he continues to improve with only a year to go until the olympic trials.
