Four names that absolutely should have been drafted that weren't- are Lee Cummard, Micah Downs, Michael Bramos (even according to caste Draftexpress.com he did well at the Portsmouth Invitational) and Ben Woodside. Chase Budinger doesn't go until the mid 2nd round?...This is pathetic. Other than Rubio going to the T-wolves and Hansbrough being picked in the lottery- this was a very disappointing typical NBA caste draft.

Chase going that low was disgusting. What disrespect for one of the best athletes in the whole draft! He has great all around skills but his blonde hair and blue eyes was the kiss of death.

The second round wasn't too bad with many europeans being drafted. That was a breath of fresh air that was badly needed.

Speaking of the Phoenix Suns. They were going to take Tyler Hansborough and missed out on him as they picked 14th and he went number 13. This was really too bad. Listen to what they are doing. They traded Shaq and they now have Sasha Pavlovic. I'm hoping they keep him. They also have traded Amare to Golden State for Biedrens, Bellini and another couple of players. It isn't allowed to be announced until July. Nash will love playing with these guys. Last but at least, 1 of their 3 draft picks were white guys today. It would have been 2 out of 3 if they could have landed Hansbourough. Either way the Suns are going to be a fun team to watch and they will probably remind people of when they had Tom Chambers, Jeff Hornacek, and Dan Majerle. Those were great teams to watch and boy were they good. Here is the link to who they drafted today.

Just wanted to post the Darko Milicic has been traded to the NY Knicks. I love this deal for him. Mike is a great coach who actually belives in white basketball players. He will help Darko to get his confidence back. I just hope they can hold on to David Lee now. These guys should really help the Knicks to improve next year.

Chase Buddinger should be pissed. How many blacks were drafted before him based on potential but had question marks on defense?? Too many to count, if anyone had potential in its draft it is him. The guy has a freaking 40 inch vertical, a deadly jump shot and came from a well known program. Ridiculous, i hope he comes into the league with a fire that none of the other gms saw in him. Also the T-Wolves drafting 4 pgs in the draft was weird! They drafter Rubio and Flynn with picks 5 and 6. Then Ty Lawson at 18 and then Nick calathes in the second round? I know Lawson will be going to the Nuggets but that for sure is a strange draft.
Btw* Anyone see Victor Claver(6'9) the red headed spainard get drafted? He was picked in the second round i forget by which team but he looked very impressive in his highlights.

Claver was taken in the first round with the 22nd pick by the trail blazers where he will join fellow spainard rudy fernandez.

C - Luke Nevill - 7'-1" - Utah (by way of Australia) - Sr. NOT DRAFTED
SG - Micah Downs - 6'-7" - Gonzaga - Sr. NOT DRAFTED

PG - Kyle McAlarney - 6'-0" - Notre Dame - Sr.
SG - Ryan Toolson - 6'-4" - Utah Valley State - Sr.
PF - Gary Wilkinson - 6'-9" - Utah State - Sr.

These others of course were not drafted.

The only guy I missed was 6'-11" PF Henk Norel who went to the Timberwolves.

Statistics:
1st round 5 out of 30 white (17%)
smiley42.gif

2nd round 10 out of 30 white (33%)
overall 15 out of 60 white (25%)
smiley21.gif

To sum up how disgusted I was with this draft I will simply say some African nobody from the Congo who played in Spain was selected in the first round and Josh Heytvelt was not selected at all!

It was the first round? Even better! Some good news is that Jon Brockman was drafted relatively high by the Blazers but was traded to Sacramento where he will join Hawes

Here is an article from communist Yahoo on why drafting Tyler Hansbrough was a bad move for the Pacers. It didn't help Hansbrough when caste hound Dick Vitale said he wasn't athletic and would pretty much be strictly 14 points per game player.
smiley7.gif
He also hates on Ilgauskas and Varejao of the Cavaliers, saying they couldn't get it done, thus the trade for Shaq. Also, he says Rubio couldn't beat Syracuse PG Johnny Flynn for the Timberwolves starting PG.

I saw that too, Lambert. I sent him charts of Hansbroughs and Griffins almost identical workout numbers, etc.

Not that I am a huge Vitale fan or anything, he's frequently insufferable. However, his comment that Hansbrough would be a 14 point 8 rebound guy in his career is not that bad at all. Those kind of stats will keep a guy in the NBA for a decade.

Yes disappointing overall although too pretty athletic foreign guys slipped into the first round(Casspi and Claver). Tyler H could be a good pro who knows--he may not be a great leaper but his full court speed is pretty darn good. Budinger in 2nd round is odd but I have to say he does seem soft but I think a lot of it is racial--white players are taught early not to ball hog etc and he was a volleyball player so the aggresive nature is not what it should be--that said he could blossom into a Ray Allen type of player.
I actually prefer Downs and man why would someone pass on this high flyer? I think he should have been a top 15 pick. Cummard I rank a nudge below Budinger but seems like a good off the bench guy. Heytvelt?? Another one that puzzles. Mullens the center has a chance to be real good down the road and I am not in love with Rubio. The Swede is a stud though. Just my opinions off the cuff.

This is the reason I don't watch the NBA anymore. A talent like Chase Budinger going in the 40's is the most disgusting thing I have seen in sports in a long time.

The Indian Pacers will be a team to watch. They will now have around 6 white guys or half of their roster. Way to build a team. You have to credit Larry Bird who several years ago said the Nba needs more white stars. Now if they can just put it all together and make the playoffs.

I lost interest in basketball in the late 90's after finishing high school. We need another more Tom Gugliotta's in the league.

Brandon Jennings has the makings of a bust and is already running his mouth. Apparently he has continually bad mouthed Rubio and thinks he will outright take over Luke Ridnours spot on the Bucks, He also has criticized Ramon Sessions. Great pick Milwaukee! This kid could not even qualify to play college in the Ncaa, i mean cmon out of all of the stupid kids playing college ball in the U.S. you couldnt qualify? Here's Yahoo's for once refreshing article.

budinger lacks fire supposedly. dunno if he has the same passion that Love and Hansborough have. Those two big men are winners and great talents. i am not sure if Budinger "gets it" yet. Budinger has talent he just needs to put it together and take over games and not be passive.

All three though seem to be really good team players. Whereas Hansborough and Love can go get the ball off rebounds and don't need to have the ball to dominate, perhaps Budinger needs to demand the ball more and make plays.

is "lacking fire" anything like "hip swivel" or "raw affleticism" or "room brightening smiles" ...meaning is it only blacks possess these mythical qualities?

the unfunny joke that is the NBA Draft is one of the BIG reasons i abhor the NBA.

Budinger needs to attack the basket more, and not settle for threes. that is what the reports from the draft camps said.

Hansbrough moved up. Budinger didn't. that's all. Both are very skilled and very good athletes... maybe teams thought that Budinger doesn't have a killer instinct yet.

looking at next years mock drafts and i have seen a couple with Cole Aldrich going number one overall. I cant remember the last time a white player was drafted number one overall in the NBA draft. Does anyone know? It had to like 1960 or sometime way back.

Also, they have Donatas Motiejunas going number 3. That would mean two of the first three picks would be white.

Green fire Andrew Bogut was picked #1 overall not too long ago by the Bucks.
