Anyone hear of him? This guy was in the 2008 World's Strongest Man. He is from Norway. He is 6'2 312 lbs. He came in 8th place last year in strongman. The interesting thing is he is going to box now due to lack of prize money in strongman. I don't know if he can be successful because he is too big at 312 lbs. He would have incredible knockout power though.

Wt33: I have never seen him box but I have watched videos of him training. He is very muscular obviously. To be honest and realistic he is better suited for MMA than boxing much like Brock Lesnar. Boxing requires more skill than strength and the kind of skills he would need he could never obtain at this point in his life. But MMA fighters can succeed with incredible strength and some wrestling or grappling ability which he could learn in 2-3 years. It goes without saying that one sport is not better than another but that each sport has its own particular prefered requirements.Edited by: Maple Leaf

That's what I was thinking. He is too big to box. I am sure he would have incredible knockout power but would be too slow at his size to compete.

Former NFL stars such as Ed "Too Tall" Jones " and Mark Gastineau were total failures in pro boxing. I agree with Maple Leaf, boxing requires much more skill than pure strength. Being very muscular, can be a liability .Being stronger but less skillful than the opponent isn't usually a winning combination. Look at Manny Pacquaio/ De La Hoya. While De La Hoya IMO was clearly stronger, Pacquaio's speed, defensive ability ,etc. turned the fight into target practice for Pacquiao

He boxed very well considering he's new to the sport.
