I didn't see another thread for this, but the news I had was for anyone in Ohio they are replaying the D3 semifinal right now where Nate Kmic sets the all time rushing record! It's on Sports Time Ohio (STO), playing tonight from 7 to 10. I'm recording it to watch the rest after the Heisman presentation.

Have any negative comments on Nate Kmic becoming the all time NCAA rushing leader, Osgood?

Some comments about Kmic's running by the announcer "He has just enough power, just enough speed, just enough smarts," and "That was a very intelligent run by Kmic."

Do Div III guys ever get a shot at the pros?

Yes, one of Nate's old teammates, Pierre Garcon (black), made an NFL roster this year.

On the whole, D3 is probably lower in talent than big school HS ball. Heck, there are probably a few that play D3 (for schools like MIT) that either weren't on their HS team, or were riding the pine.

I disagree with that statement. You might be right about a FEW players, but not "on thewhole." There are some very good DIII players and teams, but thanks to current sports politics and/or the Caste System, they get passed over for big names. I also disagree that you have to be a DI transfer to get drafted as a DIII player.

Here are some DIII players who are currently on NFL teams.

Mount Union College-Pierre Garcon-Colts

Wheaton College-Andy Studebaker-Chiefs

Coe College-Fred Jackson-Bills

Trinity College-Jerheme Urban-Cardinals

Wisconsin-Whitewater-Derek Stanley-Rams

Wisconsin-Whitewater-Matt Turk-Texans

Menlo College-Nate Jackson-Broncos

John Carroll University-London Fletcher-Redskins

Ohio Northern-Jason Trusnik-Jets

Mississippi College-Jake Allen-Packers

Salisbury-Byron Westbrook-Redskins

St. Olaf-Horace Gant-Redskins
