Exactly. There was NO robbery. Period. By my count, Bute's knees touched the canvas with two seconds left, and he was up at around 8 seconds. (Using a stopwatch, my counts were between 7.7 and 8.8.) And that was without the ref being in his face and counting to ten. If he had done so, instead of yelling to Andrade, he might've gotten up even sooner.

If anything, the ref screwed over Bute, not Andrade. This so-called "robbery" will follow Bute around for years. Bute should be applauded for his heart and toughness, not derided as a recipient of a "gift" win. It was amazing how long he stayed on his feet! All the ref had to do was give a normal ten count and Bute would've beat it, and there would have been no time for Andrade to land any more blows. But this mistake wasn't enough for the moronic ref. Then he had to screw Bute again by saying that Bute wouldn't have beaten a normal ten count! WTF!!!

And I agree with JD1986 and Maple Leaf that Bute shouldn't have traded him with him in the 12th. It sounded like his corner was urging him to finish strong. Stupid. Obviously we don't want fighters getting on their bikes all the time, but against someone like Andrade, you gotta do what you gotta do.

Good post. Bute really dominated the fight from start, to about 30 seconds left. He should have just stayed away in the last round. Still, he got the win, and should he give Andrade a rematch, he will dominate again, only this time he won't make the same mistakes in the final round!

I just watched a replay. Bute was up by the count of 5. He was knocked down with 5 seconds left so as soon as he was standing, he won the fight. The f_ggy Showtime commentator Steve Farris was practically having an org_sm over the illegal alien Andrade. I agree Bute clearly didn't train hard and he was totally out of gas and couldn't really hold his hands up by the beginning of the 12th round. There is no way Andrade is in the same class as Bute as a boxer. Bute grossly undertrained and he almost paid. It was not, as suggested by the Showtime fools who know nothing about boxing, any talent on the part of Andrade , but his stamina , his repeatedly using his shoulders, head, and elbows to hurt Bute and willingness to sustain a massive pummeling and continue the fight. I will say Bute looked very amateurish at the beginning of the 12th round because he reminded me of inexperienced amateurs who , not being in shape, or knowing how the pace themselves, if the fight goes long enough, actually are too tired to hold their hands up or move their feet, even if they are winning up until that point.

Bute to defend against Fulgencio Zuniga

Lucian Bute (23-0 18KO) will be making the third defense of his IBF Super-middleweight title this coming March 13th at the Bell Centre in Montreal versus knockout artist Fulgencio Zuniga (22-3-1 19KO) of Colombia. A full house of 16,000 looked on in shock in Bute's last fight as they saw the hometown fighter hit the canvas for the first time in his career with mere seconds remaining in the contest against hard-charging opponent Librado Andrade.



Bute, who was winning handily on points, managed to drag himself up to his feet as the final bell sounded and walked away with the decision and his championship belt.

"Of course I didn't like the way the fight ended," Bute told Fightnews at this morning's press conference announcing his new opponent.

"It was a new experience for me. It was an error in judgment and I can assure you it's not going to happen in this fight or in future fights."

Bute said he is not superstitious of going right back to a heavy puncher or the fact that the fight is being held on Friday the 13th.

"It's just another day to me," said the undefeated Romanian born fighter. "I should be able use my speed, movement, and ring experience to come out ahead. I think he is slower than I am."

While Bute feels that he has something to prove after his last fight, so does his opponent Zuniga who is one fight removed from losing a controversial decision for the WBO version of the 168 pound crown versus Denis Inkin.

"I only had about two weeks to prepare for Inkin. Still, I know I beat him!" said Zuniga via press release.

Zuniga's three career losses have all come against world champions, Inkin, Kelly Pavlik and Daniel Santos.

"I will go to Canada to fight Lucian Bute in an all action boxing war. I will pressure Lucian Bute from the first round until he says no mas." Tickets for the Bell Centre bout go on sale January 31st at noon through the Admission Network.

Lucian Bute will be fighting this Friday. I expect this to be an easy win for him. His opponent is Zuniga who Kelly Pavlik destroyed. The fight will be on Showtime.&nb sp;&nb sp;

Pavlik and Inkin had tough fights against Zuniga. He's very similar to Andrade in his style: a pressure fighter and a crude but strong puncher who keeps coming after his opponent. Zuniga won a TKO over Victor Oganov, who was 26-0 at the time.

However, I think if Bute fights wisely like he did for 11 rounds against Andrade, he should win a decision.

Bute should win and make sure he fights smart until the final bell.

Zuniga was also a giant at middleweight. At supermiddle I see him getting stopped by the elite. He has a good chin for sure. However he is now fighting naturally bigger men.

Look for Bute by UD. I also think Zuniga's pwower won't translate as well to 168.

Awaiting the start of the fight. Members this is an important fight and week for boxing. Bute and Abraham are putting their respective titles on the line and against black no less. Hoping for Bute's victory shortly and King Arthur's tmrw. Hoping they can keep the crowns in whites hands and further crush the myth of the black affelet. Go Bute!

Outstanding Performance! Bute just Ko'd his oppontent in the 4th. Based on that performance he is definetely a top ten fighter in the PFP ranking. He looked great, great balance, speed and reflexes. Wow.
