This Steve Robinson guy looks like Ivan Drago

I assumed he was from one of the former Soviet republics until I heard the English name. He really is a celebrity boxer type, if he wasn't so big I would say he would be a candidate to fight a Paul brother down the line.

Robinson must have been on some sort of spartan diet to play soccer as he was a former player.

Ps, the Martin upset of Garcia is the biggest upset of 2021, while Martin is the European champion that championship has been devalued over the years and club fighter types fight for this belt now that there are more world level belts.

Martin suggested he was open to a Garcia rematch or he would try and fight for a world belt at 140 and suggested the fleshy looking Garcia should drop down to a more natural weight. I tend to agree as Garcia was never beating the elite of the division at 147.

Thanks for all the updates guys, I really appreciate them. Ali Izmailou is a light heavyweight boxer from Russia. He is 6-0 with 6kos, besides Beterbiev I think he is the hardest puncher in the division. He just needs more experience, he's only started boxing 3 years ago.

Kevin Lerena is moving up to heavyweight.

So South Africa at least have one good fighter at heavyweight now. He seems a bit too small at 6ft 1 but we'll see, he had good wins at cruiser.. was top 5 in the world

It's interesting (but not surprising to me) that all of South Africas former heavyweight world champions were white - Corrie Sanders, Gerrie Coetzee, Frans Botha .. despite whites being a small minority there. Blacks are the vast majority yet theres never been a single black South African heavvyweight world champion, ever.. It's a good fact to point out to these dark turds and SJW nerds. :)

I got a feeling Eddie Hearn is behind this move. Another loss by one of his heavyweights will be a big financial loss to him.
There is a saying in boxing "he who controls the heavyweight champion controls boxing". This old saying while not absolute is still valid as Matchroom promotions exploded on to the scene once Joshua was a unified champion and eeked out a dramatic victory over an aged Wlad.

In recent years Kohl's promotional company went to near bankruptcy after losing both K brothers when they formed their own promotional company and King kept his relevancy for years because he guarded the heavyweight championship and forced every top 10 contender to sign with him, less Cooney, Lewis, Bowe and the K brothers. It's also telling that once the K brothers took over heavyweight boxing that King's promotional company faded into semi obscurity.

Hearn while not going the way of King or Kohl could lose his DAZN contract if he can't deliver world level fights. DAZN isn't paying huge money to televise British level or European level fights during prime time.

Great post Truthman. One of the top fights I ever saw was Dokes vs Coetzee on 9/23/83 when Coetzee koed Dokes for the title. It was on my brother's birthday and we partied all night long. First White man to hold the title in over 20 years. I got to add one more name to your list. Johnny DuPlooy who was a good enough hwt to ko Mike Weaver and give Coetzee a run for his money for a few rounds had him down but walked right into a Coetzee left hook. A good solid heavyweight.

Yeah, South African whites are awesome. I wish we could trade our blacks for them. It could be a win win :) No more whites to exploit them here or there. Let the Chinese have them.

I looked up DuPlooy/Weaver II. It was a relatively quick fight.

Thanks for the video freedom 1. I forgot he had fought Weaver two times. He lost the first time by ko so I guess I wanted to forget that fight. He did fight a lot of good Americans in the 80s and did well against them. I wish the U.S would allow more white South Africans into the U.S. We need them.

The first bridgerweight title fight is going to happen tonight and Afro Colombian Oscar Rivas is facing Polish Canadian Ryan Rozicki who is an untested prospect type. Also this new division was "created to shrink the weight gap between cruiserweight and heavyweight" but in this title fight the weight gap is close to 20 pounds. I hope the referee does his job as this could be a violent early ko for the battle tested Rivas.https://fightnews.com/rivas-rozicki-make-weight/122847

In an entertaining scrap the more polished Rivas had to regroup at the midpoint of the first bridgerweight fight and start boxing from range against the plucky Canadian and won a unanimous decision, but the scores seemed to wide for me and maybe the wrong guy even was awarded the decision as Rivas lost a point in the 12th round so that round was at best even on the scorecards.

I had it a near dead heat going into the last round with Rivas surging by boxing instead of trying to bulldoze the smaller man. In fact at points the Colombian was blowing like a steam ship and appeared on the verge of gassing out.

Jake Paul is fighting Tyson Fury's half brother Tommy on December 18th on PPV via Showtime. Fury was "showcased" on the previous Paul vs Woodley PPV and looked like he dq'd himself when he couldn't knock out or even wobble an opponent who was half a foot shorter and was a novice boxer. But Fury is a British social media darling and the two can bring together two PPV markets so we have this main event.

Normally two undefeated novice prospects fighting each other wouldn't generate any media buzz and the purses wouldn't even be 6 figures a piece but in this fight Paul will get 7 figures and Fury will get north of a million as he initially balked at a flat million dollar fee.

I heard an internet rumour that Fury is half Black but I can't see that maybe he could be a quadroon type or he could be Black Irish but he is much swarthier than any other Fury that is a public figure.

PS, many famous boxers have had mediocre siblings that were pro boxers, Ali's brother was a prospect that never got beyond prospect fights, Tommy Morrison had a brother with a losing record who fought in tank town circuit fights and Tommy Morrison himself fought Jerry Quarry's younger brother who had a 500 record on a comeback fight after breaking his jaw. https://www.espn.com/boxing/story/_...llow-undefeated-boxer-tommy-fury-dec-18-tampa

I didn't catch this I thought it was going to happen this weekend, but Dutch kickboxer and HW champion Rico Verhoeven beats Jamal Ben Saddik in a trilogy, he was supposed to fight Overeem in his retirement tour but Overeem was replaced with a much tougher opponent on short notice.

Yes Tommy Fury is mixed belied by his different appearance compared to the other Furys, the nonwhite is from his mother's Mauritian side.

Alen the Savage Babec badly ko'd Eric Molina and probably showed the faded former fringe contender that he needs to retire. I don't know how far Babec can rise to with his Jack Dempsey style but fighting even a shot Molina in his 8th fight is pretty aggressive match making for a prospect. Here is yesterday's fight....
