After foregoing the tournament in 2020, March Madness is back this year in a subdued form. The city of Indianapolis is hosting the entire tournament in up to four different venues with limited crowds determined by an arbitrary percentage of capacity. Instead of “Tourney Thursday,” the games will be played between Friday and Monday. As of this morning, the locations and tip-off times are still TBD.

The selection show was surreal in its own way. There are always camera feeds of teams watching together to see where they are placed. This time around, these teammates who sweat and rub up against each other every day of the week were consigned to sit on socially distanced folding chairs, all wearing masks, of course. No hugs or huddles from the bubble teams. Ohio State finished its conference tournament game just minutes before the show started; while the players were not yet wearing masks, someone still thought to set up chairs in their locker room six feet apart. The spectacle is the point.

While the power conferences have played through the season with the semblance of a normal bench setup, the smaller conferences have spread out their benches with several well-spaced rows. I imagine that “the science” will allow them to sit regularly for their NCAA Tournament games. You will observe that all coaches will be wearing masks, but all of them also frequently pull them down when they want to yell. This scientific compromise has not been officially approved, but it is tolerated and will not avoided by the cameramen. The cameras certainly will, however, avoid panning through any section of the crowd that is maskless (surely in the process of “eating and drinking”) so that we viewers at home don’t get the wrong idea.

These blurbs are fairly easy to write because most colleges have adopted a very uniform website template that shows a player picture next to the names on the roster. I think it’s a little off-putting that within the past two years, 80+% of schools have adopted this template. Literally, they even use the same font.

Anyway, here are the regional breakdowns in terms of white rooting interests. I've started with the West, and will hopefully knock out the others in due time. If anyone wants to volunteer to pick one up, please feel free. Otherwise, I'll do my best to help us all fill out informed brackets. Do please chime in with any corrections or key points I may have missed, or to add some emphasis and enthusiam!

1. Gonzaga
The Zags finished the regular season as the sole undefeated team in the country. They steamrolled a handful of power conference opponents (including Iowa) before completing their schedule in the mid-major WCC. Head coach Mark Few is elite, initially having built up his small school program over the years with a “moneyball” approach of recruiting foreign nationals (Aussies and Eastern Euros) rather than competing for the American blacks on the AAU circuit. He’s one of the best active coaches without a championship, and this could be the year to change that.

Gonzaga has three legitimate All-American candidates, and two are white. Senior Corey Kispert is the team leader - a 6’7 wing with an incredible three point shot. He’s projected to drafted as high as a late lottery pick, but knowing the NBA, I’d guess more late first-early second round. Drew Timme is a dominant big man, extremely mobile with impressive ball-handling. He doesn’t have outside range and is not an elite shot blocker, so I’m unclear of his NBA translation. Timme could easily be a Luka Garza-style PoY in a year or two with the way he fills up the stat sheet. I’ll add that he’s my favorite player to watch right now.

Apart from Kispert and Timme, the Zags play no other whites in the 8 man rotation. Point guard Jalen Suggs is the third star and slotted as a top 3-5 NBA pick this year. They have a bench full of European underclassmen, so we’ll wait and see how Mark Few fills out his rotation next year.

16. Appalachian State vs Norfolk State (play-in game)
Appalachian State has had 16 players log minutes this season. The top 12 players in minutes are black, the bottom 4 in minutes are white. This team is a caricature of the caste system manifested in college basketball.

Norfolk State is an HCBU with an obligatory all-black coaching staff. They have a Greek center who plays a handful of minutes at the very bottom of the rotation. This makes them a more fair team to white athletes than App State - amazing!

8. Oklahoma
Oklahoma rosters six whites, including two starters and three walk-ons who don’t play. The team’s far-and-away best player is senior guard Austin Reaves, who leads the team in all categories with 17.7 ppg, 5.7 rpg, and 4.7 apg. What an incredibly well-rounded player! Bradley Manek is a beefy 6’9 forward averaging 11 and 5 himself. Both are seniors, however, so this team will look different next year. Freshman PG Trey Phipps is unlikely to get off the bench.

9. Missouri
Missouri is an all-black team save for walk-on sophomore forward Parker Braun, who is chipping away at the back end of the rotation. You may remember black supremacist coach Cuonzo Martin from his previous stints at Tennessee and Cal.

5. Creighton
The Blue Jays field a very white-friendly roster, but their black players do log a lot of minutes. The top player is junior guard Marcus Zegarowski, who prior to five minutes ago I was ready to fill the paragraph with a glowing review. Apparently he is a very fair-skinned mulatto with a white father. Apart from him, senior guard Mitch Ballock starts and averages double digits. Freshman center Ryan Kalkbrenner is the first man off the bench and will be a key piece going forward. Duke fans will recognize Alex O’Connell, who is eligible this year after his transfer but still hasn’t found tons of playing time. He rounds out the rotation.

Coach Greg McDermott, father of NBA star Doug, was suspended earlier this month for a racial faux-pas. In a post-loss pep talk, he told the team that he needed them to not stray off the plantation. He surely meant to say “reservation”, but a racist word popped out instead. He prostrated himself and offered to resign, and eventually the university suspended him indefinitely (I believe he missed two days and zero games) before quickly reinstating him. Weird, cringe-inducing stuff all around.

12. UC Santa Barbara
UCSB trots out an all-black team, but stashes a few whities at the end of their bench to swing the towels over their heads and do the other players’ homework. Hard pass.

4. Virginia
Last year’s champs are traditionally white-friendly under coach Tony Bennett, and this year is no exception. Marquette transfer Sam Hauser, a 6’8 forward, leads the team with 16 ppg and grabs 5.7 rpg. Interior giant Jay Huff averages 13.1 and 7.1 himself. Both are seniors, and their poise and experience bode well to carry the Cavaliers. Backup center Francisco Caffaro might spell Huff if needed, and then a few whites are stocked at the end of the bench.

13. Ohio
Forward Ben Vander Plas starts and is the second option on the team, averaging 10.6 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per contest. Freshman big Colin Granger plays a few minutes each half as a backup. There are also a few whites at the end of the bench.

6. USC
The Trojans start 6’8 junior wing Drew Peterson, a Rice transfer, who averages an ample 10 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists each night. Junior guard Noah Baumann plays about 12 minutes per game. That’s all for white players though. Announcers will surely spend their air time fawning over Evan Mobley, a projected top 3 pick as a freshman, making USC more grating than a normal team to watch.

11. Wichita State vs. Drake (play-in game)
The Drake Bulldogs went 25-4 in the Missouri Valley Conference to secure an at-large bid. They start five blacks, but guard Garrett Sturtz adds 8 and 6 as the sixth man. Freshman forward Nate Ferguson plays about ten minutes off the bench.

The Wichita State Shockers are an all-black team. Their three white upperclassmen have logged the fewest minutes on team this season. You might find it surprising that a public school in 6% black Kansas would have such shocking team demographics.

3. Kansas
The Jayhawks start one white player, sophomore off-guard Christian Braun, who is solid but statistically the fifth wheel. Senior forward Mitch Lightfoot gets ten minutes per game. Kansas forfeited in the Big 12 tourney due to a positive COVID test: there’s some question if they’ll be at full strength going forward.

14. Eastern Washington
Now here is a team to root for! The Eagles start three white players and play EIGHT whites in their ten man rotation. Leading scorer and rebounder, big man Tanner Groves, has a younger brother Jacob coming off the bench. EWU is a young team overall and won the Big Sky with an underwhelming 16-7 record. They’re undersized like a typical small conference squad, and they prefer to run and score in bunches. Amazingly, they are coached by a young black man, 39 yr old Shantay Legans. Can he show up Bill Self?

7. Oregon
The Ducks are now an all-black team. They have three whites on the end of their bench, all at the bottom of total minutes played this season. Great job, Dana Altman!

10. VCU
The Rams play in the Atlantic Ten but are always an honorary HCBU. They have zero whites on the entire roster. Truly dedicated work by white head coach Mike Rhoades.

2. Iowa
The Hawkeyes require no introduction and should be near the top of all readers’ rooting interests. They start five white players and have weathered a superlative schedule to land on the 2 line. Iowa runs through its star center Luka Garza, the preseason Player of the Year who has mostly lived up to his immense hype. Garza has an incredible array of post moves, yielding him 23.7 ppg to go along with 8.8 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 1.7 blocks per game. His second in command is wing guard Joe Weiskamp, who tallied a remarkable 47.3% from 3 pt range on 146 attempts. Jordan Bohanon is perhaps overlooked as a point guard.

Head coach Fran McCaffery has been around forever without a national title, and this is by far his best team yet. His sons Patrick and Connor both play key roles each night as well, in defiance of the usual “coach’s son” archetype on the end of the bench. Iowa’s offense averages 83.8 points per game and gives them a chance to beat any team in the field, more than making up for their unremarkable team defense. One big blow against them is the loss to injury of backup center Jack Nunge, who provided rim protection and physicality that are not otherwise team strengths. Hopefully, Iowa has enough firepower to overcome. Go Hawkeyes!

15. Grand Canyon
The Antelopes won the WAC with a 17-6 record and start two white players. Their lead dog is Danish skyscraper Asbjorn Midtgaard, a 7’1 transfer from Wichita State who left there for playing time. He averages a double-double with 14 and 10 each game. Fellow big Allesandro Lever is the second leading scorer and rebounder. There are a few other whites on the roster, but only one sniffs the court occasionally. Grand Canyon is coached by 1998 tournament darling Bryce Drew, who is on his third head coaching gig at age 46. The Antelopes have a lot of height on their roster, unique for a small school, which could cause some concerns for an Iowa team missing its backup center.

1. Michigan

The Wolverines secured the final #1 seed despite losing three of their last five games. Their two best players are white, so this is an appealing team to cheer for. Head coach Juwan Howard, now in his second year, was already a celebrity from his Fab Five days. This has translated into “elite recruiting,” meaning that once the players he inherited from John Beilein graduate, we shouldn’t expect to see many whites on the court going forward.

Sophomore and German international Franz Wagner is the Big Ten’s best NBA prospect, projected to be drafted at the end of the lottery. The brother of ex-Wolverine Moe, Franz is a 6’10 wing with a quick shot release and excellent range. Although he’s often the leading scorer, Franz’ best trait is his defense, and he was probably robbed of the DPoY conference award considering his steal and block rates. Wagner will need a big tourney for the Wolverines to make the final weekend.

Hunter Dickinson ranks as a top-5 freshman nationally after a dominant first season. The 7’1 oak tree has been marvelous with his rim protection, strength in the paint, and ability to stay on the court through fitness and lack of foul trouble. Dickinson’s stats have tapered off once teams started to automatically double him, but he is virtually unstoppable against undersized centers and can shut down the very best of them on defense. Without a three-point game, he’s likely to return to college next year and make waves for some national awards. Interesting tidbit: his commitment to the Wolverines was somewhat of a consolation prize after they lost a recruiting battle with North Carolina for the higher-rated Walker Kessler, who has struggled to get minutes this season.

Michigan also plays backup center Austin Davis to spell Dickinson. Davis is a hustle guy with his own set of crafty post moves. He can be an offensive spark plug but is limited defensively. To his credit, Howard invited Davis back for a fifth year and coached the big man up to the top of his potential.

The Wolverines are white-friendly for the time being, but will also miss senior leader Isaiah Livers with a foot injury. Livers is the only player on the team who kneels for the national anthem, so I will not miss rooting for him.

16. Mount St. Mary’s vs. Texas Southern (play-in game)

The Mountaineers have an Albanian and a Czech on their roster. The Czech plays 10 minutes a game; otherwise, this team is all-black.

The Texas Southern Tigers are an HCBU with nary a paleface to be found. They do employ two white assistant coaches and a video coordinator from southeast Asia.

8. LSU

The Tigers are all-black save for two white walk-ons. I find it incredulous that this program is allowed to participate in basketball after coach Will Wade was taped complaining that his bribes to the Adidas bag man were not enough to secure some 3-star recruit. “We made a competitive offer!” The audio is in the public domain, but Wade was not fired and LSU was not punished. Tune in to see which fine specimens LSU did purchase from the auction house.

9. St. Bonaventure

The Bonnies tout an all-black roster for their white head coach, Mark Schmidt, who wins a gold star for his diversity initiative.

5. Colorado

The Buffalos are an extremely segregated squad if you sort the “minutes played” stat on the team page. The seven white players are at the bottom of the list, and the nine black players are on the top. There is a Brazilian player who serves as the dividing line - more worthy of minutes than the whites, but not able to outpace any of the blacks. White coach Tad Boyle oversees this robust walk-on program.

12. Georgetown

Do you even need to ask? Georgetown has an all-black roster and an all-black coaching staff. Georghe Muresan’s son is apparently a practice squad walk-on, but has not logged a minute yet. Coach Patrick Ewing got a miracle run out of this team at Madison Square Garden to win the Big East tournament. Mac McClung did well to get the hell out of there.

4. Florida State

Seminoles coach Leonard Hamilton will never be confused with being racially-neutral. The team starts a white center from Serbia, Balsa Koprivica, who has been coming on strong late in the season. Hamilton also stocks a bloc of white walk-ons at the end of his bench to bolster the team GPA. FSU always gives opponents trouble with their height, but doesn’t really possess much “basketball IQ.”

13. UNC Greensboro

The Spartans bring in 7’1 center Hayden Koval as their sixth man and play 6’10 reserve forward Bas Leyte sparingly. Not a team to get excited about.

6. BYU

With the recent racial overhaul of its football team, I was very pleasantly surprised to see that the Cougars’ team composition reflects what one might expect from a Mormon university in Utah. BYU starts four white players and features eight whites overall in their ten man rotation. Head coach Mark Pope, a former Cougar himself in his second year at the helm, has the team trending up, again finishing behind only Gonzaga in the WCC. At 20-6 on the season, BYU endured 3 of those losses to the Zags. Thus far, Pope has shown no propensity toward using LDS missionaries in the third world as talent scouts.

BYU is led by senior guard Alex Barcello, who averages 15.9 points, 4.7 rebounds, 4.5 assists and one steal per contest while shooting a deadly 48.6% from downtown. Dutch big man Matt Haarms may be a familiar name after transferring from Purdue last year: he contributes averages of 11 points, 5 boards, and 2 blocks(!) each night. Freshman forward Caleb Lohner flexes his muscle in the paint for a 7 rpg average. The Cougars play fast using a deep bench, and potent offense is often the key to tournament upsets.

11. Michigan State vs UCLA (play-in game)

Spartan fans have plenty to say about Tom Izzo’s mediocre season. But this isn’t some mealy-mouthed DWF message board - this is Caste Football! Izzo has played three white players amongst his ensemble cast this year, trying many different starting lineups and position shifts. Joey Hauser is the most prolific and can be penciled in as a starter. After transferring from Marquette last year, Hauser has not performed up to his star ranking and is not having nearly as much success as his twin brother Sam at Virginia. Thomas Kithier has started half the games at power forward but ultimately only averages 10 minutes per game. Diminutive point guard Foster Loyer has also bounced into the starting lineup at times at averages 16 minutes.

Unfortunately, several of Michigan State’s big wins came late in the season after Loyer went down with a shoulder injury. His timetable is still uncertain, he hasn’t played since mid February, and given the recent run of success, there’s no guarantee he’s pushed back into the lineup at all. The Spartans backed into the tournament this year to keep their streak alive, but they are a poor offensive team that takes too many mid-range jumpers via ‘hero ball’ offense. On any night, they could lock down a powerhouse and squeak by, or succumb to a middling opponent.

In his second season with the UCLA Bruins, head coach Mick Cronin has the team resembling his squads back at Cincinnati. Gone are the white-friendly days of Steve Alford. The Bruins do start a Mexican wing, junior Jaime Jaquez Jr., who would surely be cataloged as ‘white’ if he committed a crime. Shooting guard Jake Kyman also gets 11 minutes off the bench, and there are two white walk-ons riding the pine.

3. Texas

The Longhorns are led by black supremacist coach Shaka Smart, who now looks like a jewish substitute teacher after growing his hair out a bit. Texas only plays backup forward Brock Cunningham 15 minutes per game, and he averages more rebounds than points.

14. Abilene Christian

The Wildcats start center Kolton Kohl and play three white backups in their ten man rotation. Kohl leads the team with 12.3 ppg despite averaging shy of 19 minutes of floor time. At 7’1, 240 lbs, he is a load in the middle. Backup wing Clay Gayman chips in 8.5 points as well.

7. UConn

The Huskies are a black supremacist team led by caste stooge Dan Hurley. The Hurleys are a large, wealthy white family and basketball royalty in the northeast. Despite their lineage of sporting success, they refuse to recruit white athletes. There are two white walk-ons at UConn who will never, ever play, including Dan’s own son, Andrew.

10. Maryland

The Terrapins play zero white players. They have three white walk-ons at the end of their bench. Coach Mark Turgeon is an enigma, infamous with his fanbase for refusing to pay homage to the AAU power brokers in the DC area, thus disqualifying him from recruiting many of the region’s top-rated black athletes. Maryland is also sponsored by Under Armour, who can write the athletic department a big check but does not have the sneaker infrastructure to steer high school players into certain schools, as Adidas and Nike famously do. Despite supposedly bucking this popular trend, Turgeon struggles to locate any white players to recruit.

2. Alabama

Second year coach Nate Oats has done a fantastic job elevating Alabama up the SEC pecking order. He’s an analytics-minded coach that preaches a maximally-efficient offense of three pointers and layups/dunks only. Unfortunately, he does this without any white players. Three white walk-ons use the games to practice their cheerleading routines for football season.

15. Iona

Basketball bad boy Rick Pitino has the Gaels dancing in his first season back amongst polite company. Senior big Dylan Van Eyck starts and chips in about 7 points and 6 boards. He’s the only white player who sees the floor. Iona also keeps four whites stashed at the end of the bench in case they are challenged to a spelling contest.

Agreed nice job @Phall Very much looking forward to our juggernaut teams Iowa, Virginia, Gonzaga, Michigan. Ready to see this Eastern Washington squad and Winthrop with Vaudrin. Along with some of the small schools that play Whitey.

BYU is also very intriguing!

** Also Pitino is a sleazeball but even he had some gym rats star for him throughout his career. He's got KYs All Time Leading Shot Blocker headed there next season is 6'10 230lb Trey James.

Oklahoma's second-leading scorer is out for the first weekend with covid, so Reaves and Manek will be running the show even moreso than usual for the Sooners.

Kansas will be missing a star black with covid also, making Eastern Washington's upset bid that much easier.

1. Baylor

The Bears are a fast-paced, high-scoring team that rebounds well and shoots almost 42% from outside. Junior 6’9 swingman Matthew Mayer is 5th on the team in scoring despite entering the rotation as a 7th or 8th man. He’s the only white athlete who plays. There are two white walk-ons at the end of the bench. Frankly, it’s hard to parse the basketball team brand from the stigma of the football team’s institutionalized white coed rapes.

16. Hartford

The Hawks start two whites in their frontcourt, forward Hunter Marks and center Miroslav Stafl. They play two others in their nine man rotation, and keep a cadre of white reserves on the bench.

8. North Carolina

Coach Roy Williams is a familiar face at the tournament, having hung 9 Final Four banners and 3 national championships throughout his career. He occasionally recruits white players, but this year’s team doesn’t have much to speak of. Freshman center Walker Kessler was highly regarded out of high school but has struggled to make an impact. Senior off-guard Andrew Platek spells the backcourt starters. Both usually play about 10 minutes per game. Three white ornaments adorn the end of the pine.

9. Wisconsin

This has been an admittedly disappointing season for Greg Gard’s Badgers. Wisconsin finished in 6th place in a loaded Big Ten and tallied a pedestrian 17-12 record overall. Still, they are a disciplined and experienced squad overall, and their deliberate pace of play can take the wind out of opponents’ sails. The Badgers start three whites and play two more off the bench in their 8 man rotation, making them a definite CF favorite.

Gard hasn’t figured out how to optimize his two strong big men, Micah Potter and Nate Reuvers. Reuvers, a dominant shot blocker, has regressed statistically this year while taking minutes from the more prolific Potter, who leads the team in rebounds and is 2nd in scoring average. They are both nominal starters but only play together a few minutes per game.

Tyler Wahl joins them in the frontcourt rotation, adding steady rebounding and defense. Legend has it that senior guard Brad Davison, the much-maligned “Great White Villain,” once drew six charges in a single game. He is 3rd in team scoring and shoots better outside the arc than from within it. Expect him to guard his opponents’ top wing.

5. Villanova

The Wildcats are reeling after losing their top player, senior point guard Collin Gillespie, for the season with a knee injury. Truly unfortunate for Collin and fans. His replacement is Chris Arcidiacono, the younger brother of former national champion Ryan, who is currently on the fringes of the NBA. Chris was thrust into the starting role after logging only about 30 regular season minutes before Gillespie’s injury. While I have high hopes for his career, stepping in here will be a tough task. Cheers to coach Jay Wright for recruiting white athletes at point guard despite lesser “star ratings.” Junior power forward Cole Swider comes in off the bench as the sixth man.

12. Winthrop

At 24-1, the Eagles are a popular upset pick. They start two white players including superstar Chandler Vaudrin, a towering 6’7 point guard averaging 12.2 points and 6.7 assists. Vaudrin is a rare D2-to-D1 transfer, adding to his appeal. The announcers will mention it as feel-good fluff, but they definitely won’t discuss how many such whites are under-recruited and automatically relegated out of the top flight. Off-guard Kyle Zunic joins Vaudrin in the starting lineup. Winthrop also stocks two upperclassmen walk-ons.

4. Purdue

The Boilermakers have overachieved this year with somewhat of a piecemeal squad. They start junior wing Sasha Stefanovic, a steady 3-and-D player. Gargantuan freshman Zach Edey shows a lot of promise, averaging 9 points, 4.5 rebounds, and a block per game in just fifteen minutes. At 7’4, he’ll want to improve his conditioning to join the ranks of the Big Ten’s dominant big men. Backup swingman Ethan Morton plays 8-10 minutes per contest but doesn’t register much of a stat line. Head coach Matt Painter is well-regarded and has the experience to coach his team up.

13. North Texas

The Mean Green are one of 27 teams in Division 1 athletics without an ’S’ at the end of their nickname. Only 7.5% of schools share this distinction. North Texas has an all-black basketball roster with a white head coach. I wonder what percentage of D1 schools say the same.

6. Texas Tech

The Red Raiders floundered a bit at the end of the season, losing 5 of their final 8 games. CF readers will recognize this team immediately for star guard Mac McClung, the high-flying Georgetown transfer. McClung is an adept slasher who can create his own shot and is not afraid to hog the ball in crunch time. His black teammates seem to have deferred to him as the top dog. He is the only reason to watch, as TTU has no other white players save two walk-on reserves. Still, McClung is fun enough to tune in for on his own and will have the ball in his hands at the end of the game.

11. Utah State

The Aggies are extremely white-friendly, rostering only three blacks overall. Their best player, though, is an African center from Portugal, Neemias Queta. In fact, the Aggies start two black players and bring the third in as their sixth man. Forward Justin Bean averages 11.3 points and 7.7 rebounds, and freshman point guard Rollie Worster has a bright future, currently running the offensive sets and averaging 9.2 ppg, 3.8 rpg, and 3.6 apg. Utah State tied for first place in the Mountain West, but hasn’t beaten anyone of note save conference co-champion San Diego State.

3. Arkansas

The Razorbacks have been thriving in the SEC in coach Eric Musselman’s second season. The handsome, fit Musselman and his frizzy-haired black wife are sure to be magnets for the TV cameras throughout the duration of their tournament run. Arkansas plays one white substitute, 7’3 sophomore center Connor Vanover, about 17 minutes per game. They also give one white walk-on the Rosa Parks treatment, stashing him at the very back of the bench.

14. Colgate

This Raiders outfit starts 3 white players and keeps a bench completely deficient of melanin. Senior sixth man Jack Ferguson is actually the 2nd leading scorer and most proficient sharpshooter. Sophomore Ryan Moffatt had a strong conference tournament in winning the Patriot League’s auto-bid. Head coach Matt Langel will bring a calculated gameplan to go up against the Razorbacks’ size. Colgate had an anomaly of a schedule: their conference was split into three pods for covid safety. They amassed a 14-1 record playing only 3 other teams before cruising through the conference tournament.

7. Florida

The Gators start a white center, Michigan transfer Colin Castleton. Castleton has terrific leaping ability and tallies 2.2 blocks per contest in addition to 9 boards and 12 points. He’s a fun watch and a solid contributor for the ensemble cast. Florida also plays backup forward Samson Ruzhentsev about 8 minutes off the bench. Nothing too special here.

10. Virginia Tech

The Hokies are one of just two lower seeds to open as betting line favorites. Sixth man Hunter Cattoor shoots 45% from 3-pt range. The 6’3 sophomore is the only white who plays, though two white walk-ons gaze longingly from the end of the bench.

2. Ohio State

Coach Chris Holtmann has done a bang-up job overachieving with the pedestrian-on-paper Buckeyes. Without a true center, 6’8 forward Kyle Young is their tallest player on the court, tasked solely with boxing out and grabbing rebounds. He averages 8.6 and 5.5. Justin Ahrens is a pure shooter (and nothing else). For the season, he is 3-6 from inside the arc and 53-123 (43%) from beyond it. Ahrens flips between an erstwhile starter and a sixth man, and his marksmanship stretches opposing defenses and creates space inside. Kyle Young missed a few games with a concussion at the end of the season and Is still day-to-day.

15. Oral Roberts

The Golden Eagles play a short seven-man rotation that includes two white starters. Both are foreigners, Latvian forward Francis Lacis and Estonian guard Carlos Jurgens. Jurgens played his way into the starting lineup over the course of the year, but both palefaces are bit players on the floor who are not invited to shoot. Oral Roberts finished 4th in the Summit League and won their tournament final by a single bucket. They have one American walk-on earning his MBA.

1. Illinois

The Illini come into the tournament hot on the backs of a couple of All-American finalists. Unfortunately, center Giorgi Bezhanishvili, has regressed statistically this year in a smaller role. The Georgian plays about fifteen minutes per game, and that’s all you’ll see from white players on this team. Coach Brad Underwood keeps four white walk-ons at the end of his bench, including his son Tyler. As recently as 2016, Underwood was coaching a very white Stephen F. Austin team to its third straight Southland Conference title. He’s still new at Illinois but has shown no interest in recruiting the types of players who brought him to this level.

16. Drexel

The Dragons will probably start two white players and bring another off the bench for big minutes. Grad student forward James Butler leads the team in rebounding with 9.2 per contest to go along with 12.9 ppg. Hungarian swingman Mate Okros chips in 7 ppg and 5’11 guard Matey Juric leads the team in steals off the bench.

8. Loyola Chicago

The Ramblers are a tournament darling after reaching the Final Four in 2018 as an 11 seed. They are probably underseeded on the 8 line after winning the Mountain Valley Conference and logging a 24-4 record. Loyola is led by third-team All American center Cameron Krutwig, a holdover from that Cinderella squad. He leads the team in most categories: 15 ppg, 6.7 rpg, 3 apg, and 1.2 bpg. Krutwig has a toolbox full of clever post moves and draws a close comparison to Luka Garza in many respects. The offense flows through him, making this team fun to watch. The Ramblers also start sharpshooter Braden Norris and are currently bringing forward Tate Hall off the bench as a sixth man. They play several other white players in limited minutes to spell their tight main rotation and have ten white players overall on the active roster. A solid, fun team to support here.

9. Georgia Tech

Jewish head coach Josh Pastner has assembled a black-centric roster with four white scrubs who never play. The Yellow Jackets will be missing their top player this weekend, making a demolition at the hands of Krutwig all the more likely (but no less sweet).

5. Tennessee

The Volunteers are incredibly white-friendly for an SEC outfit, starting forward John Fulkerson and guard Santiago Vescovi. The latter is the team’s most prolific outside shooter and leads in assists. Tennessee usually plays a short 7-man bench but has a reserve forward available in a pinch to go along with a few white walk-ons.

12. Oregon State

The Beavers also start two whites in seniors Roman Silva and Zach Reichle. At 6’5, Reichle is the top assist man and overall glue guy. Silva is a load in the paint at 7’1, but only averages 15 minutes per game. Oregon State won the Pac 10 tournament and 7 of their last 9 games overall.

4. Oklahoma State

The Cowboys have a black coach and an all-black roster, accentuated by three white walk-ons who have not logged a single minute all year. This team includes the presumed #1 pick in the NBA draft, Cade Cunningham, who is admittedly quite capable. No reason to cheer for them, though.

13. Liberty

The unfortunately-named Liberty Flames start two whites, forwards Kyle Rode and Blake Preston. At 6’9, Rode usually winds up drawing the opponents’ center on defense and averages 3 assists per game passing out of the block. Preston leads the team in rebounding with 6.4 per night. Forward Keegan McDowell and freshman guard Drake Dobbs are both in the regular rotation.

6. San Diego State

The Aztecs are a very black team with no whites in their ten-man rotation. Jordan Schakel is a colossal three-point shooter but wears his hair in braids so we are not misled by his pale complexion.

11. Syracuse

The Orange and their ageless coach Jim Boeheim are fielding their whitest squad in ages. The team leader is Jim’s son Buddy Boeheim, who averages 17.1 points while taking nearly 8 three-pointers per game. Slovakian forward Marek Dolezaj chips in a balanced 10, 5, and 3 line. Perhaps the most intriguing player is sophomore dynamo Joseph Girard III. Girard was New York State’s Mr. Basketball and set just about every scoring record in high school, but he was under-recruited due to his 6’1 height, considered too short for a collegiate shooting guard. Girard has not really found his stroke this season but still averages 9.5 ppg and tied the team lead with 3.3 apg. He can go off on the right opponent, having hit a season high six 3-pointers early in the year. In addition to their three white starters, the Orange have a few white bench-riders.

3. West Virginia

The Mountaineers start one white player, shooting guard Sean McNeil, and bring fellow off guard Jordan McCabe in off the bench for eleven minutes per game. McNeil shoots nearly 7 deep balls per game at a respectable 38% clip. Head coach Bob Huggins is not known to be too kind to whitey over his many years(ie lobbying for, and receiving, all-black alternate uniforms), so this probably as even-handed as we can expect from him.

14. Morehead State

The Eagles have twelve blacks and one white on their roster. The sole white player has tallied the least minutes on the season. White head coach Preston Spradlin is part of John Calipari’s coaching tree, which provides some explanation for this putrid roster assembly.

7. Clemson

The Tigers have three white contributors: guard Alex Hemenway and forwards Hunter Tyson and PJ Hall. Hemenway and Tyson are erstwhile starters in a deep eleven-man rotation. None can really be called team standouts.

10. Rutgers

Rutgers is the second of two lower-seeded teams to be slight betting favorites in the opening round. Head coach Steve Pikiell has done a commendable job getting the Scarlet Knights out of the bottom of the Big Ten barrel. They were truly a laughingstock for many years. Sophomore point guard Paul Mulcahy, an NJ native, is the nominal starter and only white rotation player. There are a handful of white underclassmen on the bench who may grow into roles down the road. Or, maybe they’ll pursue graduate degrees. Who knows? I’m happy for Mulcahy and think he’ll step up his game next season. For now, there are too many seniors to share the ball with. As a team, Rutgers doesn’t shoot well but is sometimes capable of lockdown defense.

2. Houston

Black supremacist coach Kelvin Sampson has built an all-black squad. Two token whites sit so far down the bench, they cross over into the Mexican border.

15. Cleveland State

The Cleveland State Vikings finished first in the Horizon League and won the tournament. They play forward Jayson Woodrich for about ten minutes off the bench, and have a short handful of white and/or whiteish reserves. They are laying more than 20 points to Houston as a betting line.

I watched a good amount of the UCLA vs Mich St game last night. I can’t believe I’m actually typing this but I’m glad the Mick Cronin side won! It really came down to enjoying the play of White Hispanic Jaime Jasquez, who is a baller. Great shooter and wonderfully creative off the dribble. He lead all scorers with an efficient 27 points!

Michigan State on the other hand, was a mess this year and Tom Izzo screwed over his White players. Joey Hauser made a mistake transferring there. Easily, one of their most talented and he’s been reduced to a marginal bench player. Screw Izzo who can’t even keep his affletes in line as evidenced by the heated exchange he had with one of his “stars” right before the half. Good riddance to this Caste Squad of goons.

Yep, amazing how this lineup was bungled over the course of the season. Joey is younger than his brother Sam - hopefully he regroups next season, at MSU or elsewhere. Spartans fans want to run assistant Dane Fife out of town because he recruited Thomas Kithier and Foster Loyer, who they don't consider D1 athletes. Both of them didn't leave the bench as the team choked in the playoff game, so you can't pin this loss on the lunchpail workhorses!

What a start! He's above his season average already.

Outstanding job Phall! Excellent breakdown! You should get paid for this!

Yes indeed Bucky! Cattoor ex HS QB! Jack Ferguson is a "sniper" for Colgate! Jumped on Arkansas ; but the Hogs have cut the lead to 5 after trailing by 14

Mac McClung/ Texas Tech this afternoon should be worth the price of admission! Forgot Avery Benson was a walk-on; not the typical walk-on + old school 70's looking head band hippie.

Cant remember the white player that Won Conference Player of the year? A Smaller Conference? Should have posted it when i saw him a few days ago!

Colin Castleton leading the way for Florida with 14, 11, and 3 blocks. Unfortunately, his swarthy teammate clanked both free throws to ice the game and Virginia Tech ties to take the game into OT. Cattoor has gone cold for the Hokies.

Was just going to comment on Castleton's monster game.. He's now up to 19, 13 and 3 blocks!

Cattoor has gone cold as has Colgate and Ferguson.

Illinois not having any trouble with Drexel.

Colin Castleton the player of the day so far!

Justin Bean and Mac McClung were the leading scorers for their respective teams.

The anti-White jewish coach of Georgia Tech looks like a slobbish, buffoon on the sidelines.

Lmao I can see it now. Jonah Hill playing Pastner in a new Blockbuster Film.

I'm glad Loyola Chicago is heating up after a slow start. They are playing better team basketball and showing more hustle. They should be able to grind this one out.
