Austin shouldn't be much of a threat to Taylor. Kendrick Bourne and Jalen Hurd are his two biggest competitors for snaps at the present time. Being trained by Wes Welker and having good rapport with Garoppolo are in Trent's favor. The key is his ability to stay healthy.

Following in the position record breaking contracts for RB Christian McCaffrey and DE Joey Bosa, news today reveals the two top NFL tight ends George Kittle and Travis Kelce are signing record breaking contracts for their position.

Kittle signed a 5 year 75 million dollar extension which is a new high for tight ends. Kelce is signing a 4 year extension that will keep Travis in KC through 2025. Details of his contract are eminent and it has been reported it will be in the same stratosphere of Kittle's.

As many here know we are in the midst of a golden era of White tight ends and Kelce and Kittle, following the rein of Gronkowski, The K brothers are a revelation. Different styles but prodigiously talented. Kittle plays like an animal and reminds me of an updated version of the Raiders Dave Casper. Kelce is wonderfully smooth. Both are very athletic and have great speed for the position.

So the best RB in the NFL is CM and no one will argue with that. In my mind Joey Bosa is the best DE in the NFL And now the two best TEs in the NFL are receiving top compensation as well. Not a bad summer at the office. All well deserved too.

The NFL has not yet played a game, but if the first episode of the fan’s first look at the league this season in any indication, fans are not anxiously anticipating its return.

HBO’s Hard Knocks, has been the show that has given fans the first real glimpse of NFL action for years. However, ratings for this year’s debut drew a mere 273,000 viewers, a massive drop from the 705,000 viewers who tuned-in for last year’s season premier.

While fan disgust at the NFL’s social justice stances likely play a major role in that number, there are probably other factors as well. Such as perhaps too much of a Los Angeles focus as the show opted to feature the Chargers and Rams. Or, maybe people are just getting sick of the show?

Whatever the reason, those are not the numbers that one would expect from a sports-starved country.

The ratings story will be interesting to follow. I believe the MLB and NBA are having ratings issues too. Here is an article discussing the rating drop for the NBA:

https://itsgame7.com/nba-ratings-continue-to-be-inexplicably-low/

I think this all has more to do with the BS BLM narrative than Covid. I honestly do think more and more white people are just over sports all together and sick of black millionaires speaking down to them. The past few months have really helped to wake up alot more sleeping white people to what is going on and we are slowly creeping towards a showdown.

Pro and college sports were put in their place as “non-essential” businesses. They all folded like cheap suits in response to the alleged pandemic. They say it takes 3 weeks to break a habit. Well, we went 3 months with no live sports. Habit broken. Now, these **** come back with these half-assed, fanless, gutless, bubble, masked seasons, full of BLM, and Pandemic propaganda. **** em, let them rot in hell.

I am sure I have said this before but I was just scanning over some of the NFL news with teams bringing in players for workouts. It amazes me how many mediocre black scrub players there are that teams will "kick the tires" on. That's not even mentioning the mediocre black scrub players that comprise most NFL rosters.

Also instead of giving PFT, SI, BSPN, Weenieworld site traffic go to alternate sites such as:

https://www.profootballrumors.com/

https://nfltraderumors.co/

They just give the straight forward information with out the incoherent caste babble. It's amazing to see how the caste double speak in sports mirrors the double speak that occurs in society as a whole. I feel the most important thing in combating the caste system is getting more red pilled folks to make the connection. Granted with the current political climate in this country sports are very much on the periphery and seem to be losing traction with the population.

Need more proof there will be an NFL season this fall? An undrafted Seattle free agent CB tried to sneak a woman into the team's hotel room. The fool was immediately booted off the team.

They are keeping things very tight in the NFL. There is too much money involved when it comes to playing this fall so the NFL is going to make damn sure everybody tows the line.

And remember if there is no college football the NFL will schedule Saturday TV games.

In today's edition of As the black scrub turns - 49ers signed 1st round bust Tavon Austin and another mediocre black WR JJ Nelson. I also saw that Rodent Nagy has added Cordarrelle Patterson to the running back room - I guess having one gimmick RB in Cohen wasn't enough - he needs another. Just stacking that position with mediocrity and not giving Nall a chance.

Jets sign Hogan and Bills resign Justin Zimmer. Let's hope both stick around.

Bruce Miller is back after beating up an old man..Jags signed him but released Slomka.

Bengals picked up Edge Bryce Sterk from The Fins.

While Chris Hogan never became the star many of us thought was in the cards, after he led the league in yards per catch in his first year with New England back in 2016, it would be nice to see him settle in a bit and contribute to the Jets the next couple of seasons. Hogan of course had some huge playoff games and his performance in their loss to the eagles in the Super Bowl was tremendous. If the deserving Braxton Berrios starts making some noise and with Hogan contributing the Jets might be tolerable for a change? Hogan is from the NYC area.

Also of note Washington QB Alex Smith is back in the fold after one of the most gruesome injuries imaginable. I happened to catch the ESPN film on his rehab and I wish I hadn't. His leg looked like a shark gnawed on it I thought I was watching one of those "Saw" movies. It was nip and tuck whether he would even keep the leg. But with his pretty wife at his side Alex persevered where lesser men would have folded.

I have always been a big fan of Smith and felt the media has mistreated him through the years. He is one tough cookie and a nice guy to boot. Not to mention very intelligent. Maybe he can reclaim his starter role? Would be a true miracle.

Interesting that Joe Theisman chipped in that he thought Smith's injury was much worse than his own famous broken leg.

Zimmer is an athletic freak but came from a small school. He needs regular reps to develop. A smart NFL lower echelon team should take a chance and start him and let him play and develop.

A black player with his athletic profile would have been given more of a chance than Zimmer has been.

Very much agree. We've been beating the war drum for years now, he deserves a shot. Put him in The DL rotation and go from there.

The signing of Bruce Miller is a weird one, he hasn't suited up for an NFL team in 4 years and is now 33 years old. I'm not going to belittle any player especially fullbacks who are the proverbial dog without a home, but you would think one of the many recently cut younger fullbacks who if the are in game shape should on paper be a better fit than Miller?

The Jags had Bohanon who is a good few years younger than Miller just 2 year ago.....

Hogan was "inexplicably" phased out at the end of his stay in New England, and of course was treated with no respect by Carolina last season. Even in New England, White receivers can be dissed. Hogan even showed his anger on the sideline at being ignored during a game, rare for a White football player and particularly so for him. Like Cooper Kupp and many other very quick overachievers, Hogan gets open with ease. His leading the league in yards per catch in '16 certainly wasn't a fluke.

I'll be surprised if Hogan, who will turn 33 in October, gets a lot of play this season even though the Jets have no depth at receiver It will still take continued injuries to make him a factor. As for Berrios, he seems destined to play the Marc Mariani kick returner role almost exclusively despite having obvious talent at receiver. It would likely take an injury to Jamison Crowder, the Jets' slot guy and best receiver, for Braxton to get regular snaps.

A fun fact: Hogan has now been employed by all four AFC East teams. White receivers used to bounce around to an absurd extent but not as much in recent years after gaining a small modicum of respect, but Hogan is a "throwback" when it comes to being well traveled.

In a fair world, Chris Hogan would have been a solid starting outside receiver for a team long-term. He has good size, is fast and quick and smart. But compared to most capable White receivers he's had a decent career; most never get any kind of opportunity. And Hogan had to overcome even more barriers than most considering he was a lacrosse player at Monmouth College and yet eventually became a weapon on the best team in the NFL.

I'm sure you're right (it is the Jets after all) but I'll still keep my fingers crossed about Berrios.

Well put. It is incumbent on us to look at things with clear heads. Sobering at times but we should also celebrate players like Hogan who never was an all star or sported a 1,000 yard season but has had a pretty darn good career despite the great odds against him.

What also adds to Hogan's value is he was a key player in three Patriots Super Bowl teams having won two of them. He got off to a terribly late start not blossoming at all until he was 27 with Buffalo where he had a 41-424-4 stat line in 2014. Sadly late starts for talented White wide receivers isn't an anomaly. He put up similar stats the following year but his shining season of course was his debut with the Patriots in 2016 where he finished with a 38-680-4 stat line leading the league in yards per catch. In three playoff games he sported a fantastic 17-332-2 stat line topped off with the greatest comeback Super Bowl victory of all time as the Pats turned the Falcons into mush.

In his final two seasons with the Pats he still put up solid if not spectacular numbers. I think most of us were disappointed Chris wasn't re signed by the Pats and in retrospect that was a grave error which left them with only Edelman as their only viable WR option last year. Carolina showed no interest in him last season.

As for Berrios I too am keeping my fingers crossed that he will see more time on offense.

Things are looking pretty good in Tampa for Miller and/or Watson. Brady won't hesitate to throw to either if they're on the field.

Bucs' Tyler Johnson sitting out with soft tissue injury
Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reports that fifth-round rookie receiver Tyler Johnson is dealing with a soft tissue injury. It's more bad news for Johnson, who had one of the more disappointing pre-draft processes and is now missing time in camp. Johnson was dominant at Minnesota but was strangely not extended an invitation to the NFL Combine. Concerns about his athleticism caused him to drop down draft boards despite a top-notch collegiate resume, and he landed on a crowded Bucs receiver depth chart from there. Missing time will make it that much harder for the rookie to find playing time behind Scotty Miller and Justin Watson. Our projections have Johnson's steep uphill battle baked in. We project him to see just 18.3 targets in his rookie season and to catch 10.7 of those passes for 115.7 yards and 0.7 touchdowns. He can be safely ignore in redraft leagues and should be viewed as a long-term stash in dynasty leagues.

Apparently there were also concerns about Tyler Johnson's football character as well. He inexplicably dropped out of an all-star game, for example.

It is official. The MNF team has been announced. In what looks like a cost saving move Steve Levy will handle the play by play and Brian Griese plus Louis Riddick will provide color commentary.

The dynamic duo ( insert joke here) of Fowler and Herbstreit will announce an NFL nighttime doubleheader game. They will of course be the front liners if college football is played this fall.

I am not especially optimistic because Levy and Griese don't strike me as being anti caste. I have heard Riddick doing a couple of games last year and was not impressed.

Levy is at least polished. And since this is the big prime time game I suspect their caste tendencies might recede some but only time will tell. For now I will give the group the benefit of doubt and judge them with a fresh look once they kickoff.

Perhaps other members could fill me in more on Griese. I am having trouble remembering exactly where he falls on the "caste meter."

This sounds more realistic, rather than the hype of late about Renfro already being surpassed and replaced in the slot by rookies:

Raiders' Hunter Renfrow: Still the slot man
Though the Raiders added a pair of wide receivers in the 2020 draft, Tashan Reed of the Athletic believes that Renfrow still will man the slot in the team's offense this season. The Raiders selected Henry Ruggs the first round and Bryan Edwards in Round 3 of this past April's draft with an eye toward adding offensive playmakers to complement returnees like Renfrow, Tyrell Williams and Zay Jones, as well as free-agent addition Nelson Agholor. Renfrow, who finished the 2019 season with 49 catches for 605 yards and four TDs in 13 games, will have plenty of competition for targets this year, but as long as he's the team's preferred slot option, he should be able to retain a decent floor in PPR formats.
