Incredible run by Jack Hale. He needed a p.b. so bad as he has trained so hard and has not seen enough results for the hard work he put in until now. This 21 year old wonder
child nick named "The HaleStorm" is a force to be reckoned with. So pumped right now.

Question for you mastermulti? Will he still race in the finals right? I sure hope so as he may go sub 10.10! If not then next weekend will be special for sure. Hope the weather
is warm to hot with a legal tail wind and that we see personal bests from many of the men and women competeting there! :)

Also how come I can't find results for this meet anywhere? So frustrating. Thanks mastermulti.

that was the final - there are several sub 10.20 guys still to race against him next week.
yes, it was around 30C (86F) and winds were almost still, elevation 600m (nearly 2000 ft). Very nice sprinting conditions

Thanks mastermulti. I must of heard the announcers wrong. Still so pumped and excited. I found a link to the race. Wish it was a better camera angle but it's still good.
So here is Jack "the hailstorm" Hale running a new personal best time of 10.14 with almost no wind. Simply amazing!

It is interesting to see that Hale's races usually play out very similarly to Lemaitre's style of racing(when he was competitive), not particularly good out of the blocks but is really motoring when he is hitting his top end around the 60m mark and starts to pull away. The rest of the guys looked like high schoolers in this race. A 10.14 legal wind race is nothing to sneeze at!

Julian Reus starts the indoor season quickly

Pamela Lechner

Germany's fastest sprinter Julian Reus successfully entered the indoor season at the Open Indoor Championships in Saxony in Chemnitz on Saturday. The 31-year-old achieved the best daily time of 6.68 seconds in the lead. Keshia Kwadwo and Rebekka Haase came back in the women's race.

Julian Reus (LAC Erfurt Top Team) chose the Open Indoor Championships of Saxony in Chemnitz to start the indoor season in the Olympic year. In the run-up, the 31-year-old was able to complete the 60 meters for the start in 6.68 seconds. In the final, the German record holder over this distance then sat in 6.70 seconds against Deniz Almas (6.75 sec; VL: 6.72 sec) and the simultaneous Niels Torben Giese (SC DHfK Leipzig) and Julian Wagner (LAC Erfurt; both 6.76 sec).

With his appearance, Julian Reus continued his season entry a year ago. The three-time German 60 meter champion also ran 6.68 seconds on January 25, 2019 in his second competition of the season. The standard for the World Indoor Championships in Nanjing (China; March 13-15) is not far away at 6.63 seconds.

I expect this young man to have a monster season sprinting. We all had such high hopes for him 3 or 4 years ago. He is still a baby in sprinting terms. Mark my works.
Samuel Purola is gonna break his personal bests over all 3 distances of 60, 100 & 200 meters! :)

So sad to see this legend continue to regress. He is older and his best years have probably passed him by a long time ago. Hope he still enjoys it.

He didn't catch the leaders till 60m then put 2 metres on them in the next 40.
So I assume he might have posted a 6.70 second 60m then a 3.44 for the final 40 ....... and that's world class 0.86 sec/10m splits .
Can a slight 21 year old improve his initial acceleration and transition stages to reduce his 60 time by .15 ?

to tell the truth it may feel like a weight lifted from his shoulders when he is no longer considered for selection for the national team. I think he likes running club and it may well remain his hobby. There are no expectations of him in that scenario - and, let's face it, what average/good club sprinter is ever going to worry him in a meeting.

I hate to post this but I know he is not as good a 60 meters runner as he will be in the future. Losing will drive Matthew Boling insane. He is such a competetor. This will help ignite the fire!

Men
60m OD (24) 1 Maurice Eaddy 6.65; 2 Jeremy Bascom (guy) 6.78
60m (24) 1 Christopher Grant (jam) 6.66; 2 Taylor Banks 6.66; 3 Matthew Boling 6.74; 4 Marcus Parker 6.76

I still wouldn’t sweat this at all. They’re in training mode. He did another 6 long jumps before the heats. The 4x400 team took the better part of a second off their time from last week and Boling ran a 45.82 anchor! All is good so far.

Phillip Corucle 6.64, Gaston Bouchereau 6.64, Zdenek Stromsik 6.64, Luca Lai 6.65 and Jan Veleba 6.67 have all posted good early season times in the 60 meters.

For boiling to run legit sub 10 he needs to get his 60 time at minimum 6.55
He has the top end speed like lemaitre but if he can't under 6.6 he won't be running legal sub 10, the 200 and 400 is his strength in my opinion .

Top Australian Sprinters Sub 10 Watch:

Rohan Browning (22 years old) 10.08 p.b.

Jack Hale (21 years old) 10.14 p.b.

Jake Doran (19 years old) 10.15 p.b.

All three of these young sprinters will race against each other over the nextr month or two. We should see some fireworks!

Could we see a sub from one of them in an Olympic Year? It's possible. You just never know but it sure would be great. They
all have time on their side to continue to improve as they are all very young!

Speaking of Jake Doran here is a great video about him. He may just end up being the best of all three of these guys yet gets the least attention. Time will tell but he is only 19 years of age.

That time is Matthew Boling like, I wonder why he hasn't been discussed before? Also the Aussie Sports Institute can stick it where the sun don't shine.......

Jake Doran has been discussed here for the last few seasons. It's Boling who really wasn't discussed previously, before exploding on to the scene this past year.

Jan Volko ran a 6.67 today. I expect him to have a very good season. His form was not too good last season. They have made a few minor changes and I hope he gets back to chasing those
sub 10 times this summer. When he is on form he is a mid to high 6.50's guy and sub 10.20 in the 100. Hoping for a big year for the kid.

Another guy I can't wait to hear from is Bruno Hortelano. He has elite talent and is finally healthy after battling serious injuries to due a car accident. I expect huge things this summer! :)

Doran seems to have his head on straight unlike 99% of the negro sprinters world wide. Thanks for the upload WL

Umat Uysal of Turkey has a 6.72 60m this season, which is a Turkish Jr Record.
He is 17 yrs old, and will turn 18 in March.
