There is no doubt, unless Rex comes back and makes a major impact the final 5 weeks of the season, his career will be in serious jeopardy. His exit out the NFL will be the exact same as Toby Gerhart -- will be deemed/dubbed as"unreliable" due to injuries and cut by the Pats. Once they allow him to leave, who else will sign a constantly injured 29 year old white tailback? Keep in mind, teams are only allowed 2 players to return from injured reserve...So if some impact affletes are injured in coming weeks, could be bad news for Rex. Although I believe he will be allowed to return, if healthy.



Some on the site are giddy over the fact that the Dolphins are suddenly "pro white". Yesterday they cut fast tall, young wide out Tanner McAvoy without giving him a chance....Odd, they are seen as "pro white", considering they only have 1 white defender that plays much. And he (Kiko Alonso) is likely helped out by his Cuban heritage. Team in a area with a huge Cuban population, that can't even come close to selling out a old stadium. Kiko's real first name is Christian. If he was not Cuban (say Chris Jones), I doubt he'd get a chance to start for Miami, even with the same talent.



Beat me to it, Don. I wanted to post the CMC to Sehorn anolagy a while back...Don't forget CM appeared in a National commercial with a black teammate for an NFL sponsor last fall...He's the very rare white (like Sehorn) to be deemed "Kosher" at a non white/taboo position.

DS, I don't disagree that he could start for any team in the league...But let's not forget, after his amazing rookie year in Buffalo, he tore his ACL. After he recovered he was traded to Philly in a block buster deal for LeSean McCoy and re-united with Chip Kelly. Yet he still went to the bench for an entire season and Weenie world savaged him due his "lack of coverage skills" when he did play. Things were not looking up for him.

Miami knew they had a two-for: One, he's clearly a starting caliber linebacker, who just needed a shot....Two, Christian Alonso has two full blooded "Hispanic" parents (who are white), which they could use for marketing purposes. Miami has not drawn well for a while and it has a large Cuban population (many are white).

What I'm saying is the Cuban angle probably helped him land a "fair second chance".....And he took it and ran with it. Had Miami not been there to give him that shot, he could've faded away (or been cleansed) like so many touted white linebackers after significant injuries.
