K-State has started 11, 11, 10, 5, 11, 8, 8, 5, 10, 12, 12, 10 and 12 since 2005. According to the first depth chart they are expected to start 12 white athletes in 2018 if Skylar Thompson wins the position battle.

It is disappointing not to see more white starters on the defense although the two deep has some good depth on it. The composition of this big 12 team compared to the rest of them is quite stark.

Players to look out for include WR Landry Weber, DE Wyatt Hubert, DT Drew Wiley, DT Jordan Mittie, DB Johnny Durham

QB Skylar Thompson** list as an or with a black quarterback
FB Adam Harter
WR Dalton Schoen
WR Zach Reuter
TE Nick Lenners
LT Scott Franz
LG Tyler Mithcell
C Adam Holtorf
RT Dalton Risner

DEFENSE
DT Trey Dishon
DE Kyle Ball
LB Sam Sizelove

KST. Always reliable under Snyder.

With Thompson running the show, Wildcats could be a sleeper in the Big 12.

Schoen can fly!!

Thanks Leofan.

Right Bucky this is a solid Big 12 program that is preferable to most all of the others in that conference.

WR Schoen got injured late last season. Hopefully he can build on his exciting last season. I think he is much better having Thompson as the starting QB.

Durham I believe is a CB and has been discussed here in the past. Want to see some white CBs play this year.

Bill Snyder made it a requirement that at least 50% of his recruits on the roster are actually from the State of Kansas. It has proved to be beneficial! The Kansas Jayhawks refuse to do this yet remain the worst team in the Power 5 conferences.

Imagine border states like Nebraska & Oklahoma implementing the 50% in-state rule?

Great policy imo. Nebraska when they were winning had same mindset going. Alvarez carried that over to Wisconsin as well. Recruiting local guys ensures local support. Not to mention many aren't pursued by out of state programs. So programs like the above mentioned will have their pick of the litter. Disciplined and physical teams are a rarity in CFB. It can carry you a long way.

Unfortunately, Snyder's last recruiting class was 100% "diverse".

But it was one of his “highest rated” recruiting classes ever. Doubtless resulting in bonuses for him and his staff, and accolades from alumni, boosters, administration and fans.

That’s how it all starts.

Yep...Wow! Things changed since two years ago when they said that...they must have given the ageing Snyder an ultimatum after the 17' season....see that only 7 of the 24 recruits were from Kansas in Class of 18'.

They just eeked out a hard fought win vs. FCS South Dakota yesterday.

Yep Football Dad....BYU's new early list had many white players that had Committed & Recruiting Services punished them for it with some low numbers. But Wisconsin still proves it can be done successfully with largely ignored 2 & 3 star recruits.

Still reminded of Spurrier at South Carolina saying "we got to lower our academic standards to get more of our athlete's in"

Sounds like Snyder is going to retire. Hopefully it won't be another Ron Prince era at Kansas st as Snyder fielded solid teams that also hovered around 50% white.

Be interesting to see if his son takes over like many have speculated.
