looking at Him with his mustache reminds me very much of Semenya and the other 2 men who are racing in the 800m beating the real girls. It is extremely sad that Kate Hall and the other girls are subjected to this crap they are forced to keep their comments PC or face vicious backlash while he is celebrated for cheating, the fact he is a negro makes it even easier for him to cheat. Question: does this negro boy have parents? If so they should be put themselves out of their misery....

Some good news out of California....Shae Anderson and Zack Shinnick won the girls and boys 400m respectively, at the California State HS Championships.
Shinnick ran an amazing 46.12!

Shae Anderson also won the Girls 300m Hurdles; and sophomore Karson Lippert came 2nd in the Boys 400m with a time of 46.91.
Can't wait to see the video online!

Here's Shinnick and Lippert going 1-2 in the Calif. State 400m Championships.
Looks like there were 4 white kids in the race.
Lippert looks to be the favorite for next year. He's just a sophomore.

thought this race was worth posting as the winner Mellissa Brewer won in 2:07.04 #4 in the US, this was a very exciting race to watch. The girl who came in second finished like a hurricane....

Football recruit, Coleton Beck came 2nd today at the New Balance Nationals (High School) with a great time of 10.41.
He had a terrible start, but came back on the whole field, save one guy.
He has serious wheels!

Shae Anderson is even more impressive than we realized. Turns out she caught an infection, got terribly bronchitis, could hardly breathe, and couldn't even jog for 2 weeks--and still dominated the California championships:

“Three days before CIF prelims, she was gone,” her father and coach Mark Anderson said of her illness. “She ran that meet. She literally was near death the next day. She couldn’t catch her breath.”

“I can barely get any air out or in,” she said later, explaining how it affects her. “If I didn’t have asthma, it wouldn’t be as terrible. Just having that is making it worse.”

A visit to a pulmonary doctor diagnosed the bronchitis, an infection of the tubes in the lungs which were already restricted by the asthma.

“You’ve got to shut everything down,” Mark Anderson said the doctor told them. “You can’t do anything.”

From CIF prelims through the CIF Finals and Masters, Shae Anderson wasn’t able to train.

“No workouts, no jogging, nothing,” Mark Anderson said. “It was complete shutdown.”

So she rested, studied and went to meets. And continued to win.

While trying to get healthy, Anderson dominated the competition in her signature events through the high school track playoff gauntlet of the CIF-SS Divisional championships, the CIF-SS Masters Meet, the CIF-State prelims, and finally, the State final, walking off with six first place medals and a huge release of emotion.

“It’s like a blur,” she recalled. “I just know I was super happy. I wanted to express my feelings to everybody and tell everybody how happy I was but at the same time I didn’t want to be cocky about it. I know they all wanted to win, too. I was so happy.”

Great Britain seems to be getting deeper and deeper in the sprints as of late. Three guys ( one mentioned before) all under 19 years of age have run wind legal sub 10.4 100 meters. Oliver Bromby has gone from a personal best in the 10.4 range last year to 10.31. He is really improving and is still young enough to see his stock possibly soar.
Cameron Tindle is another 18 year old to watch as he has got that young Kilty build and really runs smoothly.
Dominic Ashwell as of two years ago had a personal best of 11.2 in the 100. Now barely at age 18 he has hit 10.38.
This reminds me of a post about Australian youth sprinters that looked so deep and promising has not panned out. Jack hale and Trae Williams and company are not making any real gains from their success of a few years ago. I hope this is not the same with the British sprinters.
With Kilty, Talbot ( maybe white) Sommers, Gemilli and company it is arguable England has the most depth of white sprinters of any country in the world right now. I was hoping Germany would put out a bunch but all they have is Thomas Bartel at age 19 running in the 10.3 range.

I hope so too. The young Aussies seem to have stagnated - their overseas experience remains minimal (as does that of 10.18 sprinter from NZ, Joseph Millar) and I see two reasons: 1) we have no confidence they'll make it on the world stage and we are so far from the action in geographical terms so we won't plonk money down for further development or experience entailing OS travel. 2) Other sports will be tempting them with big money where their speed will be vital but they won't have to be on that fine line of running PBs or breaking down (e.g, both guys you mentioned will be able to drop 10.7/10.8 without concentrating on sprint training simply through natural ability, making them hard to catch on a football field).

Hey . . . Big news!!!
Zack Shinnick is US Jr Champion in the 400m!
His time was 45.20.
He beat the best juniors, which includes college kids.
And he destroyed the field. 2nd place was 45.74.
Congratulations to Zack! We may have our next Jeremy Wariner.

Shae Anderson finished 7th in 52.82, not a good day for her, possibly still fighting bronchial infection...

That time is phenomanal. It's like a professional sprinters 400 time for many of them. How many pro
400 meters runners go sub 44 that often? This kid is sensational. I hope he sticks with track!

I'm still bummed about Curtis Godin giving up track. He could have been an olympic level sprinter.

Screw Curtis Godin. He quit and was never close the top national guys. Schinnick, on the other hand...Jack said he could be our next Jeremy Wariner. Well, he just CRUSHED JEREMY WARINER'S BEST HIGH SCHOOL TIME.

In hs, Wariner ran a sensational 45.57. Half the time, no one in the country even runs below 46. When someone does run below 46, the best time is often around 45.9. Since 2009, only twice has a runner gone below 45.20 (Shinnick's time), and both times it was 45.19. So Shinnick came within 1/100 of a second of the best time since 2009. The site I was using didn't go any earlier than that.

And remember Shinnick had injuries the last two years. I've been beating the drum on this kid for a while. He's a blazer. Probably could have won California's 100, 200, AND 400, if he'd stuck with the shorter distances and been able to handle all the rounds.

First off we don't know the whole story about Godin? He was the only white sprinter other than Matt Bruno in the last 4 or 5 decades to double at the California State Champs over 100 & 200 meters! That is an amazing accomplishment. He is a great baseball player and my guess is his parents talked him into to giving up track to have a far better chance to become a millionaire in the major leagues which I believe he will. It still doesn't take away the fact that he might have become an elite talent. To double at the Cali State Champs is simply amazing.

Now back to Schinnick. I'm as excited as anyone here about this kid. I thought Wariner would change the event more on a world wide level. He was such an incredible elite talent that I thought we would see a wave of white kids in the U.S. and around the world take more interest in running the 400 meters. That never happened to the level we thought but what a career he had. No one can take away what he accomplished at the olympics and world champs along with other meets.

Schinnick has the potential to be as good and possibly even better. I sure hope so. It would be a breath of fresh air for american track. I was very sad to see Prandini and Cunliffe not make the individual team for the world champs. I want to personally congratulate Schinnick on a performance we will be talking about decades from now. So happy for the kid. I hope he continues to kick ass in college and goes pro after 1 or 2 years.

One of those 45.19 times was from Michael Norman who placed 5th at 2016 Olympic trials and yesterday finished 6th or 7th in the USA Finals. Not that I am promoting the half breed just that is how close Shinnick is now. He has a gift for the 400m and I truly hope in the next year or so he is running mid to low 44's...

Interestingly enough Shinnick and Norman will be teammates next year....

Curtis Godin is playing baseball at UCLA now after an injury ridden freshman year on the track team, which he redshirted.

With Schinnick and Sourapas at USC next year, I must be hallucinating. I can't remember the last time USC had a white sprinter, let alone two who will be among (if not the best) on the team...
