White friendly Philadelphia with McConnell, Saric, Ilyasova, and Stauskas put it on the Clippers, 121-110. Redick had 22 for LA.

Kind of interesting last night in the NBA. As mentioned Philadelphia which starts 3 white players and plays 4 quiet regularly beat up the Clippers. Denver and Nikola Jokic can play as many as 4 whites handled Hayward and Utah 103-93. Hayward had an off night scoring only 9 points, shooting 2 -10!
Meanwhile, Jokic continues to be a monster at PF, with 23 points/11 rebounds,6 assists, 3 blocks, and 2 steals for good measure. Gallinari usually scores more chipped in 11 points.

other stats:
Redick, LAC. 22
Vucevic, ORL. 20/8
Saric, PHI. 16/8
Gortat. WAS. 16/8
Rubio, MIN. 14/10 ast.
Len, PHX. 11/10
McDermott, CHI. 12
Lee, SAS. 11/5
Valanciunas, TOR. 13 boards
McConnell, PHI. 10 ast.

Although I like Ryan Anderson, it stinks that Sam Dekker has to come off the bench and play behind him. Dekker off the bench again after scoring 31 a couple of night ago in a rare start, has 11 points in about 8 minutes! How long will Dekker have to share minutes with Anderson?

Good grief! After averaging 24/12 over the last 10 games or so, and emerging as a star at 21 years old, Nikola Jokic goes down with a hip injury!! Hopefully it's not serious, but he could be out for a while. Only a few games from last night, but our guys did well. After scoring 19 the other night Nowitzki sat out?

JOKIC, Den. 29/14
Gallinari, Den. 25/7
Hayward, UTA. 24
Adams, OKC. 15/7
Sabonis, OKC. 10/5
Rubio, MIN. 12 assists

19 year old Ivika Zubac has had a couple of good games, had 16 points and 10 boards for the LA Lakers.

Three Whites made the allstar team this year: Love, M. Gasol and Hayward. There was only one last year (P. Gasol). I haven't watched the NBA allstar game in several years and have no interest.

The single biggest disappointment for me this year is Mario Hezonja of the Magic. Barely playing although I see he is getting a few more minutes of late this athletic high flying guard has taken a step backward this season for whatever reason. Here we have an athletic Euro player and he is not fitting in. Would not be the first time. Too early to say whether his career is dead in the water but he has to get going soon or he will fall by the wayside.
Shaq on NBA TV wasn't the biggest Gordon Hayward fan but he gave him his due today and admitted he hadn't seen Utah play much this year. But he did crack me up with this bit. The panel were discussing their own lists of top players and Shaq bristled at the idea that the Clippers Deandre Jordan was listed so high on Barkley or Kenny Smith's ( I didn't catch which one) list. Shaq said he plays on a good team and if you put him with say the "Bucks" you would never hear from him again". Even the panel laughed at that one.

Ilyasova is having a really good bounce back year. I thought he was done in the league just a few years ago, happy to see him thrive with the 76ers!

This happened two days ago but it deserves mentioning. Charles Oakley was always an azz clown off the court and mused about poisoning the owner on a social media site so seeing him getting thrown out of MSG for trespassing gets little sympathy from me.

TJ McConnell, an undrafted sophomore point guard, hit his second game-winning shot of the calendar year last night as Philadelphia edged Orlando, 112-111. Five white players accounted for 73 points overall on the night.

Regarding Charles Oakley, I was shocked to see how much positive spin (let alone leeway) he has received from sports media over his temper tantrum. Oakley attempted to confront the Knicks' owner, James Dolan, bombarding him with expletives during a game and eventually brawling his way out the door with a fleet of security guards wrangling him like a wild bull. When the two opposing sides are a white billionaire heir and a beloved black ex-player, the story arc is set before the second act, and Dolan will always be the bad guy while Oakley "fights da power."

YOakley was always made out to be some kind of bad@$$ but basically was a high paid 'wanna be' tough guy. He may had been able to whip some skinny ball players, but he'd have been utterly obliterated by true bad@$$es (like MMA & K1 fighters & old school wrasslers ala Harley Race).

In the "pre-Jordan" era of refereeing, players like Bill Laimbeer already existed to police each other. I'd prefer Laimbeer to be using his coaching 'aesthetics' in the NBA, but he's not really congruent with the (white) players in the league these days. A bit more of a travesty that his toughness is being translated to big n tall lesbians with a size-4 ball. What a tragic neutering!
