Or the punchers choices "Reyes Gloves."

Grants are even thinner in the front with a heavier leather that tears the skin more. Maybe Sergei wanted bigger for better defense? Only he knows. But he was deadlier when he wore Grants.

Round ten was indeed the perfect example. The three of them must have gotten their muzzles together and decided on the that one. Even Little Bug Eyes said that Kovalev won round ten.

Hey if the American boxing gangsters want to hold their boxing matches in Las Vegas the Russians should hold their boxing matches in Grozny!

Can you believe Duva? Rematch must be in neutral territory anywhere outside Russia or California. I didn't know California was a country.

There is no way that Ward won round 10. Kovalev dominated that round.

He toyed with him; battered him around while in complete control. I think Ward landed 3 body shots from 3 different clinches.

After watching and truly enjoying the fight, I felt is was obvious Kovalev had won. Even when I heard all three scores were 114-113, I expected to hear and still! Decided to look at compubox numbers and score it. First with power punches what I believe to be the most accurate method. With power punches Kovalev wins rounds 1,4,6,7,10 and 11 with 10-9s and of course round 2 10-8. This makes the fight 115-112 Kovalev. Next I did only total punches (which is of course totally biased for Ward with all his clenching) I got rounds 1,4,6,10 and 12 for Kovalev 10-9 and of course round 2 10-8. This makes the fight 114-113 Kovalev. SO EVEN WHEN I give all the holding and tapping punches to Ward, I still have Kovalev winning. UNBELIEVABLE

At any rate, the champion not the challenger, should get the benefit of the doubt. The challenger MUST convincingly beat the champion in order to dethrone him of his titles.

I didn't see the fight but I trust everyone here. I have been on plenty of boxing websites and the only ones who say Ward won are the American blacks. Blacks from other countries are saying Kovalev won as are the white Ward supporters. That tells me all I need to know.

Hi everyone, english isn't my native language but I really would like to express my thought about this fight.
I'm very sad because I think Kovalev won but sadly the narrative one year from now will be that Ward overcome adversity and win the fight, which is not true but nobody will watch the full fight. You know that highlights can be very biased. Same case with Kessler fight, where nobody remember the dirty headbutts from Ward that almost cost Kessler's carrer.

No, Teddy Atlas scored it for Ward.

Others like Al Bernstein, Steve Kim, Doug Fischer, Roy Jones, Harold Lederman and Dan Rafael scored it for Kovalev though.

Ward could be in the hospital and Teddy would say he won.

Doug Fischer, in particular is giving the judges and any "fans" that scored it for Ward, hell. Rafael scored it for Kovalev but he can't really say much about boxing being crooked because he works for a mainstream site.

@dougiefischer @CoachJonJackson Ward got a gift. That's the only way to put it.

Who is the real loser of this fight? Lets take stock for a moment. The Hock makes a good point.

Ward went 12 rounds with one of the hardest punchers in the sport. Perhaps half of the punches landed on him went to his head. I recall Tyson Fury, who took little from Wladimir in their fight, saying he had a headache for 3 or 4 days afterwards. Ward is in hiding right now. Ward has never taken this much damage in a fight. Fact is, he's so defensive oriented and so careful who he fights because of apprehension to take blows to the head. Can't fault him there. Who does? Fact is, Kovalev has ruined the careers of everyone he's faced. They all perform worse. So many examples, look at Pascal: he's shot; Chilemba: shot; Agnew: shot; Sillah: shot, Cleverly: shot, etc. The list is long. After 12 rounds of Kovalev banging on his head, how can Ward possibly be better? Most certainly he has suffered some damage. I think we've seen the best he can do.

Good points and I bet Ward will do everything he can to get out of a rematch. I bet Ward fans claiming Ward really won don't want to see it. They'll probably claim Kovalev doesn't deserve it. :D

Coming from that source its a compliment, though the article starts by writing "Andre Ward handed Sergey Kovalev the first loss..." which is false as three crooked judges wrote Kovalev a loss.

Exactly. Kovalev is still unbeaten. But what is surprising is, as you say, it is coming from that source.
