Another unwatchable (literally because I don't have the NFL Network) Thursday night game. Ravens beat the Browns 28-7. Apparently Hue Jackson pulled Kessler and brought in Josh McCown. That makes no sense on any level. And, McCown promptly lost a fumble and threw two picks. I have to declare Hue Jackson the worst coach in the NFL. I watched the Browns/Cowboys last week and saw 3 touchdowns where the Cowboys' players were completely uncovered, just standing the in endzone waiting for the ball.

Thursday night football has to go. IMO there are only so many teams that should be put on national TV the rest taint the whole container. Back in the 70s in the Chicago area we had the Bears (I hate) and basically on NBC the Raiders or Pittsburgh and the occasional odd team on a hot streak would be scheduled to play either the Raiders or Steelers. And of course Monday night football who went years without scheduling the dreadful Packers (my team). College football was Ohio State, Michigan and Notre Dame with some SEC powerhouse Bama usually thrown in for good measure. Plus with Goodells comments about Trump's win and how to explain it to his daughters we have an elite with no self awareness that they are liars or idiots and most likely probably both.

A wonderful caste article in the Washington Compost this morning about Redkins LB Will Compton.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/spor...ad08e6-a81d-11e6-8fc0-7be8f848c492_story.html

I say "wonderful" semi-sarcastically. This is one of those articles that praise a white player back-handedly. He is credited for being a good player, but of course it is in the usual caste manner. The castespeak is so over the top it will be amusing to CFers.
The authors' name is "Master Tesfatsion", so that will give you an idea right away what the spin will be. Some excerpts:

"Compton, a scrappy undrafted free agent..."

"He climbed the depth chart because of his goal-oriented mentality, his work ethic, his unmistakable enthusiasm and his natural leadership." (Not of course because of athleticism or natural ability)

"For an NFL player with an ordinary physique — Compton is 6 foot 1 and 238 pounds — praise for intelligence can be code for limited ceiling."

This part shows that Compton gets it: “No matter what, I’m going to battle the criticisms of an undrafted, Caucasian white guy playing and I’m good because of my work ethic, IQ and things like that,” Compton said. “It goes really deep, and it starts with the mind because I’m not the biggest, the strongest, the fastest — none of that. I’m pretty exceptional at all of it, but that will never be at the surface of what my résumé is. It will always be an ‘effort’ guy and this and that.

"The perception angers Compton, who ranks 14th in the league with 70 combined tackles and recorded his second career interception two weeks ago against the Cincinnati Bengals. He has often exchanged comments on social media with fans who have criticized his play."

"“Every year I feel like I’ve went over the top on some barrier,” Compton said. “But it’s never been nothing that I haven’t thought about on a daily basis to where I’ve made it a mission of mine — not against naysayers — but just for myself to know whenever I’m done, I know I put everything I had to max out my ability.”

Overall the article is positive towards Compton but in the expected total caste way.

Jags playing Ben Koyack at TE. Just made a nice catch helping Bortles out.

Good on Taylor. He was talked up a lot by Peyton Manning, even getting a mention post Super Bowl win. He's got the size and speed to be the next Jordy Nelson. Will he ever be granted the opportunity to truly shine?

Taylor is on one of the better teams he could have landed with. Gary Kubiak traditionally has a White receiver on his team, Kevin Walter the most notable. Taylor needs to wait for Sanders or Thomas to get injured or sign with a different team. Hopefully his racial apprenticeship ends in a starting role.

Bryce Petty just led the Jets on a 9 play 99 yard touchdown drive.

Petty looks good so far. Huge arm as advertised and stretching the field. Hoping he can establish himself as the viable starter for the Jets (or at least be a 2-3 year stop gap until they have to make a decision on Hackenberg).

Jordy with a TD catch, 8th on the year! Packers down 21-7, if they don't start winning McCarthy may be on the way out!

Time for the Packers to get Janis involved. All of the guys Rodgers "trusts" aren't getting it done.

Chickillo keeps making plays, if he becomes an "official" starter on the Rooney Rule Steelers, with their array of highly drafted underachieving black LBs, it'll be quite the Caste victory for the good guys

Pat Tillman would have turned 40 last Sunday. He is one of the very few White men in Amerika 2.0 (hopefully about to be dismantled) that I have ultimate respect for. Pat Tillman was a role model and a hero. RIP always

If the Dolphins were smart, they would put in Vigil at slb from here on out. Jenkins and Butler are killing them. Shying away from contact, misdiagnosing plays and leaving their areas exposed, missing tackles ... not good.

Hunter Henry with another TD catch. The TD pass moved the great Philip Rivers into 8th all-time in that category.

Gase's belief in Tannehill is paying off. I'd love to see Jake Butt in Miami next year to give Tannehill a quality TE.
