Espn still has Zenner listed as a Full-back. Despite numerous articles from other sports media sites stating that he only wants to be a Running Back.

Figures. BSPN is pure refuse & champions of the caste system. Zenner should (easily) be a starting RB.

Zenner with the impressive 3 yard TD run...stood up by two defenders at the goal-line...he was not to be denied! Announcers saying he's a pleasant surprise & said he will be on some teams 53-man roster

ZZ Top now has 85 yards rushing on just 8 carries...as in above post hope there is a GIF of the 41 yd run i missed.

WR Bryan Walters scored a TD earlier...but it was called back because of penalty

What a game by Zenner! Even the announcers said that he deserves to be on an nfl team even if he is cut by the Lions. He scored in every preseason game this year. The only rb for the Lions to do that. The kid is electric. Almost 100 yards on 8 rush attempts. Phenomanal talent.

Here is the Zenner highlight from NFL.com. It was in the 2nd quarter vs the Jags first team defense.

Zenner is considered the "camp darling" by the Detroit media. They call him ZZ Top as a play on his initials. His play has been stellar but the caveat is always that he racks up his yardage against back up defenders. He's got a good chance to make the team but as a 4th RB playing mostly on special teams. Some are saying that he'd be better off getting cut so another team would grab him and his potential but as a white guy that option is not realistic.

Abullah had one good carry in the first preseason game and they have been raving about him since then.

The local media asked head coach Caldwell why there aren't more white running backs and he replied "that's a funny question".

Ain't it the truth? Yeah, he is quick but he's also too small to be an NFL feature back.

Zenner has been the best running back in the league in the pre-season. He has a natural gift for the position to go with his size, speed and intelligence, but based on the past 30+ years there's a near one hundred percent certainty he'll be screwed over by the NFL.

Blake Bortles reminds me of Ben Roethlisberger, both physically and in style of play. I hope he becomes a mega-star over the next few seasons.

Bryan Walters looked very good as always, but that doesn't mean anything. His only hope is to become the extreme rarity like Kevin Walter who isn't super athletic but eventually gets to play a lot.

Jacksonville has a lot of second and third string Whites at TE and WR, and most of the o-linemen on the team look to be White. If Gerhart can stay healthy and gets to play a lot, and Walters makes the team and is used some, the Jags won't be as nauseating to watch as most teams this year.

T. J. Yeldon finally played and barely averaged one yard per carry.

What a good game and never in my life thought i would say that about a Det vs Jac game.Bortles does look alot like a more athletic version of big Ben as Don pointed out and ZZ looked great out there. Its amazing that so far thru the preseason we have the 2 best RBs be white players in ZZ and Wegher even tho he didn't play much tonight.

The bad thing however is we have seen good white RBs do this in previous preseason games and still not make the team or be stuck at WSTD/FB even if that wasn't their calling in football.Anybody remember Nate Eachus a few years ago in KC?He had several 100 yrd games in preseason and averaged 9+ YPC but was stuck at FB during the season even tho he was only 215 LBS and hasn't played after that 1 season.Zack Line also looked great in preseason games but has never had a shot during the season in his career.

Really hope to see ZZ & Wegher get a chance to play RB during the regular season but i'm not gonna hold my breath. In a fair world ZZ & Abullah would share 90% of the carries this year but doubt that happens.

Zener looks like the best rb in the nfl. Jacksonvilles rbs looked terrible - good news for Toby. Detroits darling, abo as I call him, is a small flashy runner with poor instincts. He looks like he runs strictly for style points. His flame is sure to flicker by mid season. Zener and Gerard are actually sitting in good spots right now. Two teams with offensive potential and no star running backs on the horizon. I just wish I had listened to my gut and drafted Zener in the lambert league. Damn you Don!

Guys I think Zenner has a social media account. He should get our praise and support. The guy is hands down the best back on the Lions roster.

Caste bum Dan Fouts: "Surprising speed by Zenner."

F*** all these announcers and commentators.

Zenner is a lot faster and shiftier than the 2 fat,out of shape, plodding cokehead afrolete running backs he handed off to(Chuck Muncie & Pete Johnson)for a large bulk of the prime of his career.

Cousins is getting the start today for the Redskins. Let's hope he has a strong performance to stake a claim for the starting job.

I watched a little of the Steelers - Bills game. I am assuming it was the Bills local broadcast team. They were pathetic heaping there praise on Ebony Jenkum and Idler Arm Taylor while doing their best to damage Cassel's chances and perception with the drunk white fanbase in buffalo. I can see why Italian Stallion is so sick of the current state of the team and regime in place.

Encouraging article and positive "buzz" around Zenner. I'll be honest, after the draft I thought he was going to just go to med school so I have been pleasantly surprised he signed with the Lions and decided to pursue the NFL, I'm not surprised he has shown himself to be the best RB on the roster though. Really rooting for Zenner, I hope he makes the team and gets a chance to make an impact during the season.

Did you read the usual caste speak from his coach though? "He is faster than you think and stronger than you think".

Yeah the same old talking down about white football players. It never ends despite him showing equal or better speed to their beloved athletes.

Lets hope he makes the team. Remember Woodhead and his fantastic preseason some years back. He will be buried on the depth chart behind inferior backs and the Lions have a black coach. That says alot.

I hate to be too optimistic but let's make no mistake about it.. ZZ is the juggernaut that we have been eagerly anticipating. He is accomplished, smart enough to go to a team where his running back coach, who was black, praised his abilities and had a good existing relationship with Detroit. He signed with an agent that understands the challenges that white running backs face and more importantly he is capitalizing on opportunities when given a chance. He is for real. In Detroit's defense, Caldwell has continuously given appropriate praise despite some standard caste speak. The Ford's , by nature , are a marketing family franchise. Should they not think he can add a level of excitement and buzz, a marketing dream, for their team I would be quite shocked.

Let's hope you are right! Also, Tannehill has been sharp this preseason - he seems poised to take the leap to the top tier of QBs in this league. Looking back to the 2012 draft the Redskins could of had Tannehill and probably acquired picks to trade out of the 2nd pick rather than invest all of that into the Gremlin who has been a bust.

The Redskins traded three first round picks and a second round pick to trade up from the number six spot to the number two spot. Tannehill was taken at eight.

The Redskins could have had a superior quarterback in Tannehill and been two first round picks and one second round pick to the good if they had stood pat.

Don't be too optimistic. If Zenner makes the team, and it's still a big if, he will be 4th on the chart and spend most of his time making tackles on special teams. His only hope is for his personal version of the "Hillis curse" a series of fortunate injuries to players ahead of him on the depth chart. And for him to take advantage of it.

The situation is very similar to Danny Woodheads a few years ago when he wowed people in NY during the preseason and yet they still cut him. Woodhead, was like Zenner, an undrafted RB that had excelled at a non major program. Woodhead would have been long forgotten if not for Bill Belichick picking him up and using him as a weapon for the Patriots. I maintain the only reason that happened is because Belichick hates the Jets and just wanted a chance to take someone they scrapped and make them look bad by using them effectively. Zenner has no savior waiting to help him so it's now or never.
