Yes, but Mayweather waited till Manny was significantly older and slower. I think Pacquaio from five years ago would have been a very, very close fight.

I don't like this match-up at all, pitting high-level, White warriors against each another so that they chew themselves to pieces.

When two top tier Whites fight each other, it seems the "winner" invariably looses a bit of himself in exchange for the victory.

The menorah mongers wait for signs of weakness in White fighters, brought on by brutal ring wars before they finally allow him a significant fight with one of their next negros.

Why not Ward or Stevenson for Kovalev? Those are bouts that make more sense, as Kovalev has nothing else to prove and would gain far more prestige (at least in the eyes of the DWF's and SHW's) fighting one of the two mentioned above.

I'd sooner Beterbiev vs. Kovalev happen in two years, not now. Let it build into a bigger fight. Beterbiev isn't well-known yet outside Russia.

There are many other opponents for both: Stevenson, Ward, E Alvarez, etc.

It was announced today that Stevenson is fighting the white American Karpency.

If Kovalev fights Beterbiev now his aura of invincibility will skyrocket and I truly doubt Ward or Stevenson will ever fight him after that. Those two will decide they can make the same money in three safe fights instead of risking it all against Kovalev.
