There are two players taken in the first round of the 2014 NFL draft that are likely to bust, TE Eric Ebron, who was taken at 10 by Detroit and DE/LB Dee Ford, who was taken at 23 by Kansas City. Ebron has suspect hands and Ford is not athletic enough.

Neither of these players should have been taken as highly as they were. What were these teams thinking when they drafted them that high?

Not a real recent bust but Larry English the chargers first round pick in 2009 was released. I think he tallied 11 sacks in 5 seasons

"Supremely athletically gifted with great size" yet was a colossal bust. Does that mean then that his brain is the size of a marble?

49ers waived WR Jon Baldwin. They claimed former Cowboys UDFA WR L'Damian Washington off waivers in a corresponding move. Per beat writer Matt Barrows, Baldwin "had not looked good. At all" in Niners camp. The Chiefs appear to have "won" last year's Baldwin-A.J. Jenkins trade, although we suspect neither player will pan out. Baldwin, 25, is supremely athletically gifted with great size, but has every symptom of a career underachiever, and ultimately a colossal draft bust.

Meanwhile, a quality receiver such as David Douglas doesn't get chance after chance.

A smart team would give Douglas a legitimate chance. Douglas tested out very well athletically and has played well when given a chance.

Unfortunately, most likely Douglas is out of football.

Add Stephen Hill to the list of recent black busts. He was just released by the jets :biggrin1:

I never understood why Hill was such a hot commodity in the 2012 draft. He was longed for on DWF football forums.

Hill caught a total of 49 passes in a three year college career and 28 in his senior year yet he went 43rd overall in the draft.

Superior white receivers from that year such as Tyler Shoemaker and David Douglas went undrafted.

Douglas got royally screwed as he played good in the preseason but was cut twice I believe. That is the caste sytem in a nutshell though. No logic or critical thinking on part of the DWFs or media - they hype up a black and he busts and it is ignored and they just go on to hype up the next one.

Yes, the Dolphins gave up a first and a second to move up in the 2013 draft to get him. What a dumb move.

It seems that teams sometimes fall in love with some overhyped black player and just have to have them. They then overpay to get him. Robert Griffin is an example of this.

Mark Barron - the 1st round 7th overall pic of the bucs in 2012 has been traded to the Rams for a 4th and 6th round pick. Safe to say he is another Saban produced Alabama bust.

Some people thought the Bucs would draft Luke Kuechly. Instead they took this guy. How'd that work out?

Barron wasn't even the best safety prospect in the class, Harrison Smith was but because Smith is white evaluators rated him lower.

Lol and I was called racist by some for saying Harrison Smith was better. Barron can put up tackles but can't cover. I noticed Cassilias is being sent to the Patriots, the Lber with unlimited upside that was supposed to be able to be a long term replacement for Shanle or Fujita, now he will probably jump over a White lber for the pats

Ahh yeah, back when the Saints were fun to watch. Brian Young on the line, with Shanle, Fujita, and Simoneau at LB. That was the Saints' best LB corps in years, yet the DWFs just couldn't handle all 3 being white. They loved Fujita, but Shanle was "too slow and couldn't cover", and Simoneau "couldn't get off blocks." Every bum the Saints brought in the DWFs just knew they were going to take over the position, but never could beat them out; it was great.

So I'm waiting to see tonight's highlights on ESPN. The first 1/2 hour of Sportscenter has been and still is going on The Cleveland Cavaliers opening night lose - complete with an incredibly boring 10 minute post game interview with Lebron James. Talk about over-hyping a completely dead story.

Finally, 40 minutes later - the number 2 sportscenter story. Cam really sucked. Funny how Ingram was "sensational" according to BSPN averaging 3.3 yards per carry on the very potent Saints offense.

Here's a prediction for a future bust. You can't get more recent than that.

Black linebacker Miles Jack is being hyped as a top pick. He's had mediocre production in college and has injury issues.

Any team that spends a high draft pick on Jack will regret it. He has bust written all over him

Nick Fairley getting chance after chance. He is yet another 1st round bust

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports the Patriots are "out" on free agent DT Nick Fairley, and he's expected to sign with the Saints.
Fairley surprisingly drew very little interest on the open market despite showing well in a rotational role with the Rams last season. It didn't do much to rehab his value, however, as he's again settling in the second wave of free agency after inking a one-year pact with the Rams last March. Fairley should give the Saints' interior pass rush a nice jolt. They desperately need it. Mar 25 - 12:29 PM

Nothing is surprising - the guy sucks - he had 29 tackles and half a sack last year - I guess that is considered a good showing??? This bum has 14 careers sacks (been in the league since 2011) and will be on his third team in 3 years this season.
