But "This One Counts!" - Bud Selig

It might, actually. Angels have a shot if they can just acquire some pitchers.

I'm hoping Mike Trout can get his 100th career homer this season.

Congratulations to Mike Trout, All-Star Game MVP!

Amen to that! Sometimes right does overcome wrong. There was a sense that Derek Jeter may get the MVP, you know the sentimental favorite, well that would have been the wrong decision.

Trout was clearly the MVP.... here are the numbers compared to Jeter to back it up!

Trout: 2/3; double/triple, 2 RBI., and 1 run scored!

Jeter: 2/2: single/double, a run scored.

Trout at 22 becomes the second youngest All-Star MVP ever! Looking forward to the second half of the season and hoping the Angels make the series.

What a great game by Trout! He made us all proud. I hope he continues to light up everyone in the 2nd half of the season.

He's doesn't seem to be slowing down. Trout is 6 for 16/.375 BA. with 3 doubles and HR he hit today; since the all-star game!

He leads the league in WAR, TB, and OPS% and is in the top 5 in just about every offensive stat.

BA. 7th .313
R 2nd 69
H 8th 113
D 2nd- 29
T T-5th- 5
HR 4th- 23
RBI T-2nd 74
SLG% 2nd .612
OB% 2nd .400

After Trout's 6 for 16 post all-star game start, he went into a 5 for 38 slump, however over his last 4 games he's went 7 for 17, (3/4 today), with a HR, double, 4 RBI. Hopefully, he's coming out of this slump!

Tomorrow is Mike Trout's 23rd birthday and the Angels team site has 23 facts about Trout you may not know. I would advise everyone to check it out. Very interesting.

I'll list just a few facts:

Trout is the only player to hit 30 HR's and steal at least 40 bases in his rookie season, despite not being called up until April 29th!

At 21, Trout became the youngest player to steal 40 bases since the Great Ty Cobb. Trout stole 49 in 2012, Cobb stole 53 at age 20!

Only player in history to hit 30 HR's, steal 45 bases, and score 125 runs, and did it in his first full season!

Trout and Willie Mays are the only players to post multiple seasons with a .320 BA., 25 HR's, and 30 steals.

If this guy were black, I believe he could rival Tiger Woods to the ravenous DWF's in popularity, but it's Ok, we know the truth.

HAPPY EARLY BIRTHDAY, Mike Trout.

As I as well as others here have said before, I think we're witnessing a player of Mantle, Mays proportions.

I believe it was jaxvid that said he 's set the bar high, well, I hope he goes to outer space!

I hope everyone's enjoying this phenomenal athlete at work! I sure am.

*On a side note, I would like to thank Jimmy Chitwood for starting this thread. Thanks JC!

Despite losing today, Mike Trout hit his 2nd HR in as many days, giving him 27 for the season! 89 for his career. Would like to see him get career HR # 100 this year!

After going for 1 for his last 19, Mike Trout went 2 for 4, 1 run and an RBI last night against Boston. While it's not earth shattering, hopefully this helps Trout comes out of recent slump!

Trout HR # 28, 2 for 4, and 6 for his last 19. Showing signs of coming out of latest slump!

Trout with a mammoth shot into the CF upper deck against the A's. His 29th on the season. He's 2 for 4 so far as the Angels are killing the A's 9-0!

Trout 3-4 tonight with his 35th double. 2 runs and RBI.

2014 Season.2892992.373.558

It'd be nice to see Trout get to .300 BA, 30 HR, 40 DB, 100R, and 100 RBI for the year.

He's leading the league in total bases

Trout HR# 30 tonight. Now at .291, 30 HR., 94 RBI., and 91 runs! 30 games left.

8 more home runs until Trout's career #100. It's possible this year.

Mike Trout is by far the most exciting player in all of baseball. He should get the publicity that Ken Griffey received but we know how it all works in the country. Regardless, he is putting up amazing numbers and putting fear into pitchers from around the league. Hope his season finishes as strong as it started. I love watching this kid!

This needs to be Trout's year for the MVP. No matter how well he plays next year, if the Angels are not playoff contenders (which is likely, given the toughness of the AL West division), they won't want to give it to him.

Trout's a lock for the AL MVP if the Angels make the post season, or even get close. No one else on a good team is putting up good numbers. The only other guy close is Victor Martinez of the Tigers and a DH is never going to win the MVP. There isn't even a pitcher that close except maybe for Hernandez with Seattle and that market isn't going to get him the MVP.

This is actually Trouts worst year by the numbers, low (for him average) and stolen bases but he's generated so much buzz by coming in second for two years that his clear path this year is almost certain.

Right jaxvid on the BA. and SB's, however, barring injury Trout is on pace for personal bests in Doubles, HR's, which he's already passed with a career best 31, RBI's, SLG.% and Total Bases! the bad news is, he's already passed his career high in strike outs! 150 K's, second in the league, ouch!

I've been a little spoiled by Trout and am a little, just a little disappointed in his BA. and SB's, but he's been moved to batting second in the lineup from first and is not required to steal as much.

I really hope he'll work on striking out less. It would really help his BA. He's already the best player in MLB. I just would like to see him become the best of all time with maybe the exception of surpassing Ty Cobb!

That leads the AL. Hopefully he can maintain it the rest of the season. He also got career SB # 100, which should be more like 120 or 130, but he has only attempted 16 times. 14 of 16 attempts this season.

He also leads the AL in total bases.

He now has career season highs in HR's and RBI's. 31/100.
