Favorite and least favorite MLB players of all time

Who are your favorite and least favorite MLB players of all time?

For me:

Favorite: Tim Salmon

Least favorite: Milton Bradley

Lots of favorites:

Ryne Sandberg, Dale Murphy, Don Mattingly, Kerry Wood, Jim Thome.

Least favorites:

Pretty much any negro. Albert Belle, Ricky Henderon for starters. If I was forced, against my will, to pick a favorite negro I'd have to say willie McGee or vince coleman. I'm sure they were typical negroes off the field though.

How about Hank Aron, This bitter pill still says racism is the main reason negroes fail to succeed in almost everything. F him.

How could I forget the most evil ******* of all ??? Barry Bonds. He has to be the most despicable negro to ever play the game.

I agree. My least favorite has to be Barry Bonds, the miserable black racist. My favorite is Mattingly.

I'm a little older than most here and I grew up watching "The Big Red Machine," Cincinnati Reds of the 70's. Although a racially diverse team, I enjoyed watching Pete Rose and Johnny Bench. I don't agree with how Rose handled himself off the field, but he played every game as though it was his last.

Favorite player I read about and never able to see: Ty Cobb, whom I consider the greatest player of all-time! I wish I could've seen him play!

My favorite is Babe Ruth..

I'm not sure I have a least favorite. I didn't like Barry Bonds, but I thought he was a good villain for the game. I found it comical when sports writers & DWFs likened Bonds to Ruth.. but I didn't really hold that against Bonds.

Understood, Bonds was a powerful hitter,.. but the guy wasn't hitting more HRs than entire teams, and he wasn't collecting rings like Ruth did. Bonds was hitting HRs in an era (and context) of juicing & advantages for long-ball hitters: while Ruth started swingin' in the dead-ball. There was never a 'House that Bonds built'.. and it's hard to picture now, but before Ruth's arrival, the Yankees were essentially a nothing franchise.

Favorites: Rollie Fingers, Ray Fosse, George Brett, Ty Cobb, Catfish Hunter, Joe Rudi, Sonny Gray, Josh Donaldson, Derek Norris.

Least Favorites: Nyjer Morgan, Barry Bonds, Milton Bradley, David Ortiz, Hank Aaron (due to his latest diatribe), Manny Ramirez, Jose Offerman, Manny Machado (liked this kid coming out of high school here in Miami but has proven to be nothing but a punk)

Cal Ripkin Jr., Nolan Ryan, Babe Ruth, Shoeless Joe Jackson, Randy Johnson, Roger Clemons, Charlie Huff, Gorge Brett, Pete Rose, Scott Podsednik, Jim Thome, Roger Maris, Ty Cobb, Sandy Kofaux, Cy Young, Johnny Bench, Lou Gehrig, Mike Schmidt, Ted Williams, Joe DiMaggio, Stan Musial.

I dont really care for Barry Bonds, or Jackie Robinson. Both EXTREMELY overrated because they are black.

Favorites from my youth: Paul O'Neill, Tino Martinez, Howard Johnson, Andy Pettitte, Bernie Williams

Current: Brett Gardner, Mike Trout, Chris Davis, Jayson Werth, David Robertson, Clayton Kershaw

Least favorite from youth: Sammy Sosa, Barry Bonds, Bobby Bonilla, Juan Gonzalez, Roberto Alomar, Albert Belle, Edgar Martinez

Current: Nyjer Morgan, David Ortiz, Yasiel Puig, Alfredo Simon, Nelson Cruz, Albert Pujols, B.J. Upton

Historic favs: Lou Gehrig, Mickey Mantle, Joe DiMaggio, Ty Cobb

I don't have a problem with Jackie Robinson. He was never arrogant or surly in his demeanor. By all accounts he acted "white" The only problem I have is with the worship that he's given in order to instill white guilt into baseball's fan base. The league wide retiring of the #42 and the Jackie Robinson days where every player wears #42 is just overkill. There were players much better than Robinson. Not even the greatest player of all time, Babe Ruth receives such an honor. You can thank spineless PC commissioner Bud Selig for all this nonsense.

Agree. Like I mentioned in the Jeter thread, the issue is with the leftists who worship those guys. I have no issues with Robinson as a person, but it is highly irritating when virtually every sports media talking head tries to make Robinson bigger than the game.

George Brett, Pete Rose, Will Clark, Jim Edmonds, Nolan Ryan.

Historic : Ty Cobb of course. Everything I have read and heard about the great Ty Cobb tells me I would love to have seen him play.

Current favorites : Trout, Wright, Kershaw, and Pedroia to name a few.

Can not tolerate : Uptons, Brandon Phillips, and McCutchen.

Like most of my old fart views I generally feel that sports is a local thing. Especially baseball. The local team is on 162+ times a year so if I have a favorite it's someone I am going to see a good amount of the time.

For example how could anyone on CF not think Mike Trout is the greatest thing since sliced bread. This kid is Mickey Mantle without the obnoxiousness of New York. However I have only seen him play a handful of times. I like the kid but I couldn't say he is my favorite because all I see is Sports Center high lights.

Thus my favorites would be some of the local guys, Kaline and Cash as a kid, Gibson and Parrish, as a young adult. Pretty slim pickings now but Ian Kinsler is a fun guy to watch, if I could have lived a ball players life, it would be him. He's just real good at all phases of the game, and goes about it like a pro.

Max Scherzer is fun to watch pitch. He really puts a lot of body into his motion. Just whips the ball.

I've also become a bit of a fan of the KC Royals as odd as that seems because the Tigers play them what seems like 40 times a year. Billy Butler is a bit of a fav and I really like Alex Gordon and wish he would bust out into the superstar I know he can be.

Speaking of KC I feel that George Brett was the greatest baseball player I have ever seen play in person.

Favorites...Ty Cobb (greatest ever), Lou Gehrig, Dale Murphy, Don Mattingly, Nolan Ryan, Wade Boggs, Chipper Jones, Pete Rose & Lance Parrish.

Least...Bonds, Oil Can Boyd, Aaron, Albert Belle, overrated Robinson & this McCutchen boy (with his long f@990ty hair & caste hype).

That was the "drug" era of baseball. Wasn't nearly the entire Pittsburgh Pirates team, including the Pirate Parrot mascot on the stuff? I think the Pirate Parrot was the one dealing it to the clubhouse.
