Nick Kurtz though in some pictures looks mixed is definitely white. He is a junior transfer wr for BYU. He is 6'5" and listed at 190 pounds but he really looks much lighter. This kid has some serious game. He is probably a 4.55 guy at best on a windy day but he has the best in the air ball skills I have ever seen. I've watched about an hour of highlights on this guy and though I am not sure he can get off press coverage consistently he has incredible hands and has some athleticism to make multiple defenders miss.
I don't want to go out on a limb like my Christian McCaffrey prediction but this kid has the potential to be very very good in the not to distant future.

Just to add a little more about Kurtz. USC, Oregon and LSU offerred the kid. USC has not offered a white wr a scholarship in almost 23 years. Other then Trey Quinn LSU had not offered a white wr since the days of Todd Kinchen and Brett Bech.

Not to rain on the parade but I think, Kurtz is part mestizo. He sorta looks like Greg Salas, currently on the NY Jets. I rooted for Salas in college and do now, especially went he's competing with afroletes for snaps. One thing that will make Kurtz appear "more white" in the DWF's eyes, is his surname. Salas = Latino, Kurtz = nonathletic white guy. Sorta how Tyler Gaffney is not hyped as the next Great NFL Latino, even though his mother clearly seems to be.

With all that said, I'll fully support this young man. Also, nice to see USC, LSU and Oregon offer him. Even if they viewed him more favorably as a "latino", it's still a blow against the Caste System.

I have seen that picture Freethinker. I mentioned he looks dark in a lot of his pictures. Check out his BYU profile on the athletic site. He is much whiter in that picture though he may be a quarter Hispanic. At least he is definitely not black or mulatto.

He's also from El Cajon, California which is a San Diego suburb. It's almost 30% "hispanic" according to the census data. Couldn't find any photos of his parents. Again, I'd say he's part mestizo. I could be wrong and hope to eventually be proven so.

Either way, he looks White in uniform, plays for BYU and has a last name of Kurtz. The enemy media will consider him White.

Thanks for the legwork Freethinker. I am still going to root for him. I think he will tare it up this year especially in the red zone. I can see him easily catching about 15 to 17 tds this season. He will beat any db in the country on a jump ball.

Until Trey Quinn this year...Abram Booty was the last white WR signed by LSU in 97'....Brett Bech was a Walk-on a few years before that....

LSU was one of my favorite teams back then because even though they were pretty black they always seemed to have a very good White WR starting in the '90s and even going back to Sammy Martin in the late '80s. Then after Booty they suddenly became extinct, much the way White RBs, WRs and defensive players did in the NFL in the mid-1980s.

Yes indeed Don! Remember Sammy Martin very well! He ran 4.35-4.38 hand timed in college and in the 4.4's at the NFL Combine. Started his career at LSU as a "Tailback" & was a co-starter for a while...only weighed 175....was Drafted as a WR in the NFL...Was a dangerous kick returner; had a 95 yard TD his rookie season!

CLICK on VIDEO at 2:17...watch him turn on the jets vs A&M way back in 86' on this 67 yard TD!

I stand corrected...before Quinn this season; Jack Hunt was the last time LSU signed a white WR back in 2000(not Booty in 97')....he was converted to DB where he started for the National Championship Tigers in 03' under Nick Saban. Of course there was Kyle Williams too...who is one of the Best DT's in the NFL today....RB Jacob Hester & Craig Steltz seemed to buck the trend in 07' National Championship Team...

But Louisiana is one of the blackest states in the U.S....So the number of white football players seem to be dwindling...other interest; baseball are partly to blame. Blacks seem to gravitate to football down south much like inner-city basketball across the country.

Interesting phenomenon we have discussed over the years...coach Jimmy Johnson(Oklahoma St & Miami 80's) & Cowboys 90's seemed to be the catalyst for the decline of white football players...

Thanks for the info. 22. I forgot about Booty. I always thought Bech walked on and then was given a scholarship. I know he got some playing time with the Dallas Cowboys back in 98 with Patrick Jeffers. Not to change the subject but Todd Kinchen and Tim Dwight were my 2 favorite football players growing up. I can really not name a wr that had Kinchen's athleticism after the catch and he was a great punt returner.
