Well, Mitch McGary decided to make the leap to the NBA... after he was faced with a 1-year suspension for smoking pot: http://espn.go.com/nba/draft2014/st...n-wolverines-opts-nba-draft-failing-drug-test

To update some of the transfers a couple posts up:

I've been reading, and it looks like Marquette is one of the favorites for Matt Carlino.

Austin Etherington has transferred to Butler as well!!

Kale Abrahamson is going to Drake!

Are you kidding me one year suspension for smoking pot ? These affletes can commit violent crimes like rape, assault, and robbery and they don't get suspended for a month let alone a year. There's no doubt they're all smoking weed too.

Now we wait for the inevitable concerns about McGary's questionable character :icon_rolleyes:

I was thinking the exact same thing. Personally, I would never smoke pot, but a 1 year suspension seems very harsh indeed. Such is the life of a white athlete though. Matt Jones pretty much got kicked out of the NFL for having a beer on a golf course, and Riley Cooper nearly got blackballed after he drunkenly used the "N" word at a concert in private life. The article even says that that's the only time McGary's smoked pot in his life as well. That sucks; I wanted him back at Michigan next year.

Yeah it's just another one of those double standards white athletes face. Here's another one related to college basketball that I just found out about. There's this kid named Tyler Ulis that coach "Cal" was able to recruit to Kentucky for next season. You know how tall this kid is ? He's 5'8. Are you kidding me ? And he's still a 5 star rivals recruit. Can you imagine all the thousands of very talented 5'10 white high school point guards who don't dare to even dream about walking on to some bottom feeder program because they've been told they're too small. Hell we've got tons of prototypical 6'2 white point guards who get completely shut out of the recruiting process. But then you've got a 5'8 black kid and he's a 5 star recruit getting offers from all the top programs.

Are you kidding me?? Even by racist Rivals standards, this is pretty crazy. There's no way he should be a 5-star recruit, let alone be on scholarship at Kentucky. Like you said, there are plenty of deserving white players who are better and more athletic than this kid, yet Ulis was a McDonald's All-American. Just another reason to hate Kentucky.

I thought I'd update my key white transfers a bit.

Matt Carlino is going to play for Marquette now! Just a couple things to note - In addition to getting Carlino, Wojo's first three offers as Marquette coach are to white guys!! Maybe that program can change after all.

Former Boston College guard Joe Rahon is transferring to St. Mary's. http://www.bostonglobe.com/sports/2014/04/28/rahon/zRzrAaRlOfqNFoLNG3JvSM/story.html

Much-maligned Oregon forward/center Ben Carter is transferring to UNLV, where he'll be joining San Francisco transfer PG Cody Doolin.

Arkansas has their token whitey again with Kikko Hayder graduating, Texas Tech guard Dusty Hannahs transferred to the Razorbacks. Not sure what the thinking on that was... if playing time was his goal, he certainly won't be getting it at Arkansas, much less any shot attempts. http://collegesportsblog.dallasnews...-annoucnes-he-will-transfer-to-arkansas.html/

Cal guard Ricky Kreklow is transferring - http://www.mercurynews.com/sports/ci_25631668/cal-guard-ricky-kreklow-transfer
