Are they going to pull their usual Las Vegas-Mayweather dirty tricks? Silly question. Of course they are. For starters the judges will be on the payroll. Then they'll probably trot out their in-house referee, Joe Cortez, so Alvarez will be fighting the both of them, like they did to Hatton.

Any streams for this one? Preferably one that doesn't freeze up every two seconds. I've been having trouble with streams lately. Who do I complain to, Don King?

I'm not going to post any streams for the Showtime version of this fight. This website could be sued for it, so we should NEVER ever post a stream for a PPV.

However, it will be covered for free by Russia 2, by Orange TV in Poland, and a number of other TV networks.

Posting streams for public or cable TV networks like SKY, INTER, RTL, ARD, Russia 2, ESPN, etc is not a problem, but we should NEVER post a PPV stream.

Yes American PPV streams should never be posted here as Don could get a warning letter/email from whomever is the promoter or the network broadcasting the fight. This fight will be on numerous European television networks and will be for free on most so the rights won't be guarded like the King's gold....

All i know is that Saul better knock him out early, because there is NO WAY maywaether loses a decision.

It was pathetic the way Floyd had to have Canelo weight-drain a couple more pounds, instead of fighting him at 154.

Yep. If Maywaether was white he would be ridiculed as a bum for so many reasons.

If I was the trainer for Alvarez, this is the strategy I would layout for him.

No. 1, its Canelo's title that is in on the line. Mayweather is fighting for it. Therefore let Mayweather come to him. What this means is fighting at at a very measured pace. If Mayweather attempts to countershot or box away. STOP! Lay on the ropes and challenge Mayweather to "take" your title. I know this does not spell out a great fight, but it assures a Canelo victory. Everytime Mayweather comes at him on ropes or in the center of the ring, EXPLODE on him with combations and body shots, thus conserving energy for the championship rounds where desperation will force Mayweather into exchanges. Canelo's size, power and quickness should seize the night if properly conditioned.

No. 2, I certainly hope that Canelo's jab will be a fundamental key in the fight. If he has it going. It will be a great deterrent to Money's strategy of counter punching. The jab has to be piston like and sting and hurt as demonstrated in past fights.

No. 3, Mayweather has an excellent lead right hand. Canelo, needs to time ducking it and deliver a debilitating left hook to Mayweather's body. This alone, will be a major key in breaking down Floyd. I can not see Floyd taking many of these precision shots and not fade later in the fight.

No. 4, in past fights, Canelo has shown to fade somewhat in the last rounds of a fight. I hope they have conditioned him to allow him to sustain mid rounds action tempo. He will need it based on Mayweather's surreal endurance and stamina in the past.

Ok, easier said than done. I hope Canelo employs something similar to this. Rather than trying the failed attempts of trying to walk down Mayweather, it has never worked. He is a excellent defensive fighter and counter puncher. The walking down and swinging consumes a lot of energy. Canelo will have to play it smart and conserve the energy in the championship rounds.

Prediciton: UD for Canelo while dropping Money May twice.

Weeks ago I posted my prediction for this fight. I'm not going to change it. For Canelo to win he either has to knock the weasel out, or knock the weasel down in 4 different rounds, and batter him in most of the other 8 rounds. But that is not going to happen. No way. Canelo could out-score weasel 15 punches to 8 and still not win the round because the judges count weasel's duck/slip/block/parry all as connected punches. Weasel could probably win a round throwing 10 punches to Canelo's 80. Nothing will convince the judges. The only chance Canelo has is by the knockout or too many knockdowns to ignore that even a child would score the fight for Canelo.

This Vegas boxing industry makes a lot of money for a lot of people. Weasel is in thick with that racket. The boxing industry does not want to see someone from Mexico ruining their paydays. Mayweather by UD.

I think Canelo is better than Guerrero in just about every aspect...so I expect him to do much better. This fight I'm honestly 50/50 on. I think if Canelo can catch Mayweather then he can hurt him and probably finish him. But the problem is that Mayweather will literally run around the ring to avoid shots. The big question in my mind is will Canelo catch him with a big shot. I'd love to down a shot of whiskey while watching Mayweather lie knocked out cold....so lets hope so! My prediction: Canelo by KO/TKO or Mayweather by UD.

More importantly the boxing establishment in america NEEDS a black champion to have a record that resembles Marciano, and Calzaghe.
49-0 and 46-0 respectively.

Ali, Tyson, Lewis, Holmes, Lenard, Hernes, Hagler, Hopkins, Jones, Holyfield, and every other black "legend" had loses. Mayweather does not. In boxing conversation no matter what spin they try to put on it (whys, hows, wouldas, shouldas) they cant say that any black champ retired on top with out ever having lost.

I agree that Canelo is probably going to have to knock the bum out, or practically knock the bum out, to win, and like I said he'll probably be fighting two people in there including the house ref, probably Cortez again.

I'm still pissed at the way they rigged that Hatton fight with the so-called ref constantly distracting Hatton and also not letting him fight on the inside, deducting a point for nothing, and generally acting like an out of control circus clown. Who else remembers the post fight tableau with Cortez gleefully hugging Mayweather? I'd like to investigate Cortez' bank account balance pre and post fight.

And I'm still pissed at all those drunken English hooligans for not rioting and trying to lynch Cortez and Kellerman. And I'm pissed at Hatton too for not complaining enough, though the highlight of the fight for me was when he presented his ass to Cortez...and also for being a stinking junky.

Boxing is crooked and Las Vegas is the crookedest venue of them all, plus there won't be thousands of crazy Mexicans rooting for Alvarez because they've priced most of them out of the market. The place is all sold out and I understand tickets are going for like 1 or 2 thousand dollars. That's ridiculous.

"This Vegas boxing industry makes a lot of money for a lot of people. Weasel is in thick with that racket."

He even lives in L.V. so he's had plenty of time to get acquainted with the the indigenous mobsters. I passed by his boxing gym last year. It looked closed.

The bookie betting odds look something like 2 1/2 to 1 for the trayvon.

Canelo looks weight-drained. I'm worried the catch weight will be just enough to weaken him a bit and make the difference in a close fight.

It would be great for the public image of the sport of boxing if a nice guy like Saul Alvarez managed to win tomorrow. Floyd "Wifebeater" Mayweather give the sport a bad name and sets a poor example for children who look up to pro athletes.

I believed he looked the same as when he beat Trout. I hope his game plan is similar to mine. He can not go round after round trying to trap Floyd. He must fight a paced fight and challenge Floyd to come to him. Its easy. Don't fight at your opponent's strength. We shall see. In the beginning Floyd will taste a world class jab, right hand and body shots though.

Just checked Joohoo, their boxing expert is predicting a late round KO for Gayweather. I really hope Canelo team has instilled a smart game plan to just win. I am sick and tired of Floyd.

Just saw the weigh-in and I think Saul Alvarez handled himself very well. He was calm, cool, and collected, and refused to accept a belt when Floyd handed it to him, making Floyd look a bit stupid on stage. That being said, weigh-ins don't really mean anything and when it comes time to fight, only their skills will matter and whatever happened at the weigh-in means nothing, more or less.

I've seen several of Alvarez's fights and what I have noticed is that he is a good puncher and moreover he has good defensive abilities. He doesn't take unnecessary punches, seems to block well, and has the movement to make his opponent miss. One thing I've noticed in his past fight with Austin Trout, though, is that his conditioning could be improved and he seems to fight in spurts and at times lacks energy, similar to Arthur Abraham.

Mayweather has made a career out of cherry-picking his opponents, and personally, I don't find his list of opponents as all that impressive (as many of his biggest opponents were old by the time he faced them). That being said, Mayweather is undeniably a great fighter, is very fast, defensive, and also has the power to hurt guys. It remains to be seen how his age will affect his fighting. He is getting older and one of these days I'm expecting his age to catch up with him. Some fighters fight well into their late 30`s and even 40`s but usually fighters who rely on speed (like Mayweather and Jones Jr) tend to burn out faster. When their speed goes, it`s over for them, because that is 90% of their fight. Speed goes first so these fighters tend to get older quicker than others (this is also why fighters in lower weights tend to age quicker).

It will be interesting to see how the weight dynamic affects this fight. Both guys were very ripped at the weigh in. Some people have said Alvarez looks "weight drained" and that may be true, but the other side of the coin is that Alvarez is much bigger than Mayweather. Hopefully Canelo can use that to his advantage. There is a reason that weightclasses exist and it's because bigger guys are stronger and will usually win in a fight (see, heavyweight Tyson Fury KO cruiserweight Steve Cunningham a perfect example of the bigger guy using his size expertly to KO the smaller guy). If Alvarez could enter the fight weighing 170+, I think that would work in his favour.

I predict the fight to go the distance and I think it will be competitive. Robert Guerrero was able to win 2 or 3 rounds on Floyd, and I`m pretty sure Alvarez is better than Guerrero, so I could see Alvarez winning more than that. I won`t pick a winner other than to say I think it will go the distance and a relatively close fight (say, 116-112 either guy, 115-113 either guy, or even a draw 114-114).

Not a fight I would bet on personally.

Great post, and for the most part I agree.

Personally, I also think a 20 or 25 pound advantage for Canelo would also be a good thing, but of course, you don`t want to add on weight if it makes him slower or unable to fight as usual. All other things equal though, bigger is stronger in a fight.

I also know that Canelo has received world class sparring from the likes of Gennady Golovkin. Practicing with the best like Golovkin has certainly made him a better fighter!

Good luck to Canelo!

Canelo and Mayweather appear to be close to the same size.

http://www.boxingnews24.com/2013/09/canelo-plays-tough-guy-with-mayweather-at-weigh-in/

According to the Showtime weigh-in tale of the tape, Mayweather is 1/2" taller, and has 1.5" greater wingspan. Mayweather arms are about 3" longer (Negroes usually have proportionately longer arms and legs than other races).

Although Floyd's wigger fans always go on about how small he is, I think Mayweather is slightly bigger than Alvarez. However, Canelo is more naturally athletic.

Yes, they both appear to be the same size for all intents and purposes last night. However, come later tonight, Canelo will be weighing approx 165 to 168 lbs fight time. Man, I hope his team has solved his late fight stamina & endurance issues. He will need it to fend off a disparate charge by Mayweather to win the fight or for Canelo to go for the win. It will be interesting to see if youth is served.

I don't know if Alvarez's talent quite matches his charisma. He's a very good fighter, but I don't know if he's ready to beat Mayweather. I hope he can. But that little bastard Mayweather is very hard to beat. He's got his system down and he works it to near perfection. And when he does get hit, it's never something that he didn't see at least partially coming. So Alvarez should earnestly concentrate on body shots.

An Alverez one-punch Mexican style liver shot knockout would be great. Yeah, I think I'll take that from the menu thank you.

Yes he did. Canelo is a very muscular 154 pounder. There were stories about him moving up to 160 pounds. I can believe it as there is no fat on his body when he makes weight.

What's the story with Canelo's race? I had no interest in this fight until I saw him - he looks irish to me. I thought it was going to be the typical black vs. mexican fight. Is he of European - Spanish ancestry? I hope he wins tonight

"What's the story with Canelo's race?"

Yes, obviously he is white European background. Ten per cent of Mexicans are Aryan, pure white European. Most Mexicans, though, are mestizo, mixed European and Amerindian. The USSA, of course, advertises for Wretched Refuse, so that is what we get, the lowest strata from Mexico, and the darkest and least white. Mexico is, however, mostly a negro-free country.

Big fight, hope it lives up to the hype

Alvarez is clearly a White Man. If he was walking down the street in any city in the world, he'd be considered white. Doesn't matter his country, language, etc.
So I will be cheering for him to beat Mayweather as will most people.

As for the fight, appreciate the posts and details from some of the posters with knowledge of the techniques and strategy of the 'sweet science'.
I believe mildly retarded bully boy once put forth some adept Chinese fortune cookie advice : 'everyone has a strategy and game plan. Then they get punched in the mouth'...

Yet those I guess were with the heavyweights where 1 punch is like a sledgehammer.
Mayweather is obviously a talented tactical and skillful boxer. Not that much of a brawler from some of the fights I've seen recently. I guess the conventional analysis is that his speed, jab, and ability to not get hit has earned him an undefeated record.
He is great at not getting too much punishment..and being able to dish it out.

I suppose knowing his strengths and staying away from them as best as he can will be Alvarez's main hope. He will put on decent weight for the actual fight and perhaps this will help his chances.
Mayweather though has experience in these sorts of big fights and I don't see him losing in LV.
Not to be cynical, Mayweather is of course a whole industry onto itself. So yes, Alvarez CAN win tonight. But doing so and executing this may be something not in the cards for him.

Let's go Alvarez. Will be good TV so get to your favorite sports bar or strip club early

All of the "experts" at BSPN are picking Floyd to win, except one. Uncle Teddy is picking Canelo. Did not see this coming. lol
