Is there any interest in having a thread run throughout the season for received, running backs and defensive players? I know it was done last season and I think a few seasons before that as well.

I've been meaning to put up a top 50 or 75 for White receivers but I had a wedding this weekend and have been swamped at work. I should get around to it later today.

Sounds good. Let me know if you need help.

I would track running backs too but there's so few I just get annoyed. Some defensive updates would be cool, like tackles, sacks and interceptions leaders. I don't follow college football enough to even attempt anything on the defensive side of things.

Despite the small number of white running backs, I think it's important to point out the statistics of the ones that are making the effort. It can also help them to get their name out there just like when dwid makes videos of their season hilites.

Instead of just tracking RBs we can also include white running QBs that put up dominant stats year after year as well.

I'll do a thread for white defenders later in the week, I'm pretty familiar with most of the standouts and there are a lot of good ones out there this year.

Probably do some short profiles plus keep a tally on the leaders in tackles, sacks, ints, etc.

HOw many teams this year are starting a white RB? Do we even have any Gerharts this season. You know a white guy that is THE main RB? Surely there must be a couple.

Weisman, Bullough, Blankenship and Zwinak are the ones that come to mind off the top of my head. Not all of them are full time starters though.

Guys like Philip Nelson and Taysom Hill have had great starts to the season running the ball though.

Bullough seems to be in a time share after the 1st 2 games. Stanford only played once but it appeared Tyler Gaffney was THE man in that one. Don't know if an afflete was hurt, suspended, etc. There's also Zach Laskey on Georgia Tech who gets carries but certainly not the main. Same for Steven Manfro on UCLA and Max DeLorenzo on UConn.

It is very disheartening that this is all we've got when it comes to primary ball carriers.

I forgot about Laskey, Manfro and DeLorenzo. I think Switzer from UNC may get some carries at some point. It really does suck but honestly when has it been good? A few years ago it was only Gerhart and than Burkhead who actually had to split time due to injury. Every so often a guy like Luke Staley or Chance Kretschmer emerge but white RBs have been an anomaly over the past 25 years.

Thanks Leonardfan. I should have known these guys. I mean I do know them just havent followed college this offseason. Blankenship is probably my favorite of that group.
