I will hold out some hope that Audie Cole in Minnesota could work out. He is a versatile athlete that can excel at inside or outside backer. I could definitely see him getting along with Jared Allen. They also have Chad Greenway.

One thing to remember is that when Audie was racking-up big numbers the past two years at NC STATE, the defenses' of STATE weren't overflowing with talent and often had several d-line injuries. Somehow, Cole still excelled. He knows how to play linebacker, and doesn't give up on plays.

Here's another example of the huge double standard applied to blacks. Jerome Simpson isn't a "bad kid" despite being busted dealing 2.5 pounds of weed and teams "still think highly of him" despite being a bust as a second round draft pick. Compare that to the "troubled coke head" Matt Jones, who was far more talented and was caught using coke, not dealing it. As jaxvid has pointed out, the DWFs and media seem to want their black football heroes to be thugs, felons, drug dealers, woman beaters, etc.

According to the National Football Post, one NFL team thinks Vikings WR Jerome Simpson would be making $5 million a year if not for his fall arrest. He ended up accepting a one-year, $2 million offer. $5 million is probably a bit optimistic, as Simpson is far from a proven No. 1 NFL receiver. According to the Post, he's not perceived as a "bad kid" despite being arrested for having 2.5 pounds of marijuana mailed to his house in September. It helps that he's yet to register a positive drug test. It's clear that teams think highly of Simpson's skills, so a strong 2012 season could earn him a big pay raise next offseason.

Yeah and I think there are a few reasons for it. One is that breaking the law shows that the person has a disregard for themselves personally because they are willing to sacrifice long term interests in favor of some short term goal.

That is perfect for the football system which wants to burn out players as quickly as possible so as to prevent them from becoming veteran players and accumulating bigger and bigger contracts. Risky behaviour is also an advantage when considering that players have to often sacrifice their bodies to make plays or keep playing.

Secondly arrests and controversy generate news stories. Each arrest, ticket, or incident that generates a media response bumps the sport up a notch on internet counts. Obviously if the incident is very bad the league is upset because that can generate a lot of bad publicity, but minor drug busts, domestic assaults, scuffles at bars, etc. are minor items that help provide fodder for sports talk shows and internet site discussions. It helps create "buzz" that singular aspect of humans that has become so objectionable in the internet age.

Criminal behaviour is usually a sign of low IQ, and there is nothing a football coach likes better in his players (not QB or o-line) then stupidity. Stupid people are easier to manipulate and control, as the dumbing down of amerika plainly shows.

Crimes are also generally committed by violent men who have more testosterone then common sense. It's a great way to determine who has the high testosterone absent a blood test. Surely that's how it was done before people understood the chemistry behind it. What better way for someone to know if a guy is a high testosterone type of man then by his rap sheet?

Of course there are negatives to working and living with those kind of people as every western country in the world is finding out. But if you are staging the modern version of gladitor contests for a decadent societies entertainment, criminal behavior is a valuable prospect evaluation technique.

There's also the factor that White suburbanites -- regimented, repressed, conformist, and pussy-whipped to the core -- get a thrill out of exotic ghetto dwellers, and can't help but feel that all of them are superior athletes to their fellow Whites.

Weenieworld finds it hard to believe that Harrison Smith doesn't have tight hips (and presumably a tight crotch as well):

Vikings signed rookie FS Harrison Smith, the No. 29 overall pick, to a four-year contract. Like all first-round contracts, the Vikings will hold an option for a fifth year. Smith played linebacker and strong safety at Notre Dame, but the Vikes feel he's got fluid enough hips to start at free safety as a rookie. We'll see about that, while targeting Minnesota's pass defense for fantasy matchup purposes.

A Bleacher Report writer claims Harrison Smith "lacks the athleticism" to be a starting safety in the NFL:

Does Harrison Smith have the athleticism to be a starting safety for the Minnesota Vikings?

No!

There has been a lot of talk in scouting circles about the Vikings' selection of Smith towards the end of the first round in April.

The former Notre Dame safety doesn't appear to have the measurements to be a standout starter in the National Football League.

One of the league's golden boys, promoted not only as a super athlete but a paragon of superb character and virtue, has been arrested. More details should be forthcoming:

The Houston Chronicle reports Adrian Peterson was arrested in Houston on Friday night for resisting arrest.

The CM spin machine is already going to work. Before it's done, po' ol' Adrian may become a civil rights martyr, a pure angel who was attacked by a group of racist cops for no reason whatsoever despite his being a national celebrity.

Profootballtalk.com reports that Adrian Peterson's arrest for resisting arrest in Houston was caught "all on video," and the details may not bode particularly well for the Houston Police Department. A source with knowledge of the situation told PFT that the arrest was captured by "one or more surveillance cameras," with "multiple" witnesses. Peterson's girlfriend and some family members were reportedly at a Houston nightclub. At closing time, policemen entered the club and instructed everyone to leave. Peterson wanted to get some water, but an officer told him no and Peterson went for the exit. "It’s believed that one of the officers then jumped on Peterson’s back from behind and tried to take him down," explained Florio's source. Other officers then joined in. The fact that Peterson was only charged with resisting arrest is awfully bizarre. Expect more details to emerge this weekend.

Don, As you know, I'm not in any way on the side of blacks. But this type of thing happens all the time in Houston. You look wrong at a cop down there and you're in jail. Happened to a buddy of mine years ago when we were working down there.

Having said that, it's only a matter of time with these black athletes before they louse up somehow. The only real question is, just what it is they'll do to louse themselves up? Don't worry, this won't be the last time ap gets in trouble.

I recall that several years ago Peterson received several speeding tickets for going over 100 mph. Not criminal behavior by any stretch, but an indication that Peterson might not be quite as virtuous as constantly portrayed by the media.

I just hope he isn't back in time for the season. Hopefully he returns mid season or even later from his injury. This way Gerhart will be able to showcase his skills. Maybe, just maybe if Gerhart plays well again some team will sign him at to split carries with a black scatback.

I can’t really say I disagree with the approach of letting Harrison Smith work with the second team until he is fully comfortable. If it is just a move to appease a certain segment of the team that might get offended by his working with the number ones, then that is a different story. I remember how Toby Gerhart was resented and then unnecessarily pummeled.

The best thing that could happen to Christen Ponder is that Kyle Rudolph become a significant part of the offense. According to the below report, Ponder is hitting Kyle a lot in practices.

Notes: Harrison Smith not ready to run with first-string defense -- just yet

Rookie Harrison Smith figures to be a Vikings starter before long. And the Vikings' internal hope is that he takes control of that job before the Sept. 9 season opener against Jacksonville. Yet at the outset of camp, Smith is taking his reps with the second unit defense as fellow safeties Jamarca Sanford and Mistral Raymond work with the No. 1s. Sanford made 15 starts a year ago. Raymond, who made a conversion from cornerback to safety in his rookie season, played sparingly in 2011, not seeing significant time on defense until December. He started the Vikings’ final five games.

So what’s with Smith’s current place on the depth chart?

“We want him to compete and win that job,â€￾ Frazier said. “We’ll see how it plays out over the next few weeks.â€￾

<snip>

Fully connected

Get used to seeing the Christian Ponder-to-Kyle Rudolph connection. Through two days of practice in Mankato, Rudolph has been Ponder’s favorite target, catching countless short passes in the flat as well as a handful across the middle. Offensive coordinator Bill Musgrave continues to laud Rudolph’s size. At 6-foot-6 with a huge catching radius, Rudolph is easy for Ponder to spot. He’s also come to camp this year bulkier but without losing any agility and seems poised for a breakout season with the ways Musgrave is promising to involve his tight ends.

But as much as Musgrave loves Rudolph and John Carlson, he also said Saturday the Vikings will miss Jim Kleinsasser, who retired after last season.

“It may take two players to replace Jim,â€￾ Musgrave said. “Because he could do a bunch of great fullback jobs as well as do a superior job on the line of scrimmage controlling a big run-stuffing defensive end. So we’ll want to make sure to run the schemes that fit our personnel and aren’t just our favorite plays because Jim made them successful in the past.â€￾

If this article is accurate, Harrison Smith did a good job of sticking up for himself when Percy Harvin went after him. Two years ago during training camp, the Vikings' black defensive players were going full boar after Toby Gerhart, who seemed passive and intimidated. It didn't help that Brad "The Mangina" Childress didn't do anything to lessen the racial hazing. But Gerhart was much more comfortable running the ball in his second season last year.

Snippet: For the second consecutive day, Minnesota Vikings receiver Percy Harvin had words with rookie safety Harrison Smith, and things got heated enough on Wednesday that Harvin had to be restrained.

Harvin caught a pass on a short route from Christian Ponder on the second play of a third-down drill and turned upfield, where he collided with Smith, the first-round draft pick from Notre Dame.

Players were in shells, not pads, but the collision was loud enough to draw a rise from the crowd. Harvin continued trying to run downfield. Smith didn't let up. Harvin recoiled and appeared to consider throwing the ball at Smith before going facemask to facemask with him instead.

Receiver Jerome Simpson ran downfield and shoved Smith away. Then, about a dozen other players descended on the scene -- some of them jokingly pulling each other away from the pile -- and Harvin had to be held back as Smith continued chirping.

Harvin walked off the field with a Vikings media relations official and didn't comment. Smith said he was "not really sure" what happened on the play and downplayed the exchange as part of the game.

"It's the game of football," Smith said. "It's not a passive sport. It's an aggressive sport played by aggressive people, so that stuff happens."

This came one day after Harvin caught a touchdown pass against Smith and briefly stood over the rookie, prompting Smith to say something that brought an unfavorable response from Harvin and teammates came to the rescue.

Shows the way blacks are in most cases. Harvin was the instigator and Simpson shoves Harrison away. I know Harvin and Simpson are both receivers and spend a lot of time together but still. A black defense player would shove Smith as well.

Word is that Peterson is trying to get back on the field as soon as possible. He plans on playing in the first regular season game. Even Jerry Rice told him to not rush it but Peterson can't let whitey showcase his skills.

From our pals at rotoworld:

Vikings MLB Jasper Brinkley suffered a minor shoulder injury in Sunday's loss.

He's been diagnosed with an AC sprain, which is typically an injury that can be played through. We doubt Brinkley misses Week 13. Brinkley has 70 tackles and a forced fumble through 11 games this season, but has graded out as one of Pro Football Focus' worst inside linebackers.

I wonder if this opens the door at all for Audie Cole, who's currently listed as 3rd string. If not this year than maybe next but at least he doesn't have a supreme talent blocking his path.

"linebacker Chad Greenway has asked fans to get "super-duper drunk" in order to boost the Vikings' home-field advantage at the MetroDome."

he is currently getting blasted for this statement and some are saying he should apologize.....Really?

he has already went on air and said he "should have used some more responsible words"
