2011-2012 NCAA Basketball Season

I don't have all the stats right now, so I will be editing this post with more info. It was good to see Utah State defeat BYU (a PC team that reinstated Davies).


Robbie Hummel: 21 points (8-13 FG, 5-7 3pt FG).

Jeff Withey: In 18 minutes (because of foul trouble), he had 10 points, 4 rebounds, 4 blocks and 3 assists. He led his team in blocks.

Ruslan Pateev: In 16 minutes, he had 6 points, 6 rebounds and a team-best 2 blocks.

Steven Idlet: In 21 minutes, he had 7 points, 5 rebounds and 2 blocks for Tulsa.


Loyola Marymount upset UCLA. UCLA started Reeves Nelson and the Wear twins. However, guard Lazeric Jones was a sparkling 1 for 11 from the field.. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/boxscore?gameId=313150026

Cody Zeller had a good game for Indiana.

Steven Idlet (Tulsa): 23 points and 4 rebounds.

Clint Chapman (Texas): In 19 minutes -- he had 6 points, 4 rebounds and 3 blocks. However, when the conference season rolls around, he won't get jack for minutes, as his coach is a big-time African Supremacist. If you ever get to see Chapman play, you'll see that he has a good, athletic frame.

Scott Wood (NC STATE): 18 points and 3 assists.

Tyler Zeller (UNC): 27 points and 8 rebounds!

Ryne Smith (Purdue): 26 points (8 three-point FGs)!

Zane Johnson (Hawaii): 24 points (6 three-point FGs), 4 rebounds and 3 assists.

Robbie Hummel (Purdue): 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists.

Jack Cooley (Notre Dame): In 22 minutes -- 7 points, 8 rebounds and a team-best 2 blocks.

Gonzaga freshman guard Kevin Pangos tied a school record with 9 three pointers in only his 2nd game. He had 33 points in total.

So I was checking some box scores and glanced at Boston College because they have a White friendly history and the leading scorers named sound White. I think I have found a team to root for in the ACC no less. Under black coach Al Skinner they were pretty dark from year to year. Well the 2nd year coach Steve Donahue, who guided some talented White Cornell teams to the NCAA tourney, seems to be taking BC in that direction as well. Here are the starters and players who got minutes in there win against New Hampshire.

G, John Cahill (GS) - the grad student made the team last year as a walk on and has earned more playing time
G, Matt Humphrey (Jr.)
G, Patrick Heckmann (Fr.) - 6'5" from Germany was the top scorer with 19 and added 8 boards
F, Ryan Anderson (Fr.) - mulatto, seems to be a good player
C, Dennis Clifford (Fr.) - 7 footer

G, Gabe Moton (So.)
F, Eddie Odio (Fr.) - White guy from Miami, FL...go figure
C, KC Caudill (Fr.) - 6'10" with size
G, Jordan Daniels (Fr.) - 5'8" lol
G, Lonnie Jackson (Fr.) - mulatto
G, Danny Rubin (So.) - 6'5"....made 23 starts last year

So more than 50% of the rotation is White. Plus, they are almost all freshman. I'd expect the team to struggle a bit since they are so young but a good squad to watch in the ACC.

If he was allowed to play his natural position we would be talking about a white LeBron. And this suspension could only happen to a white man. When is the last time anyone here heard of a player being suspended for wanting the ball more?

Aaron Craft; 13 Points 7 Assists 3 Rebounds 3 Steals 1 Blk.

The most well rounded player in college basketball right now, and its not even close. He absolutely destroyed an ultra-afletic team in Fla. yesterday. The only thing that needs work is his jumper, and long range. That will come in time no doubt.

Ben Brust (Wisconsin): 17 points, 4 rebounds and 2 steals.

John Brandenburg (Colgate): 11 points, 6 rebounds and 2 blocks. He was originally on Virginia a few year's ago. I'm not expecting much from him, but who knows..

Dulkys (Florida State): 16 points (4-4 from 3pt-range).

Freethinker mentioned him a bit earlier in the thread, but i watched the Gonzaga-Washington State game where true freshman Kevin Pangos tied the school record with 9 three-pointers in one game. it was just his second collegiate game, and it was his first career start. Pangos, not surprisingly, wasn't highly recruited despite shining in international competition. additionally, he was the youngest-ever player to ever suit up for the Canadian Senior Men's National Team. just imagine how good he'd be if he had talent ... *smirk*

besides hitting 9-13 three-pointers, Pangos scored a game-high 33 points (he was 6-6 from the free throw line), 2 rebounds, and 6 assists with just 2 turnovers in 37 minutes. some highlights of the "overachieving, blue collar, gym rat's" second collegiate game are below.

a player that i've not seen mentioned on Caste Football, but who also shined in the Gonzaga-Washington State contest, is WSU's Brock Motum, a "surprisingly" athletic 6-10 junior from Australia.

Motum finished with 17 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists, and 1 blocked shot and was the best player on the floor for (a surprisingly dark) WSU. Motum kept the Cougars in the game with repeated spectacular (and non-spectacular, non-statistical) plays, one of which can be seen below. he also had another nice dunk, over Gonzaga's 7-foot Robert Sacre, which i've not found on youtube.

Yesterday, Northwestern defeated Tulsa by a score of 69-65. For Tulsa, Steven Idlet had 14 Pts (5-7 FG), 7 rebounds and 2 blocks.

For Northwestern, John Shurna had 15 Pts (5-16 FG), 6 rebounds and 2 blocks.

So who are some teams we can cheer for this year? I saw Duke had the usual three whites on the floor this year. Anyone else worth watching?

Does anyone know how many whites Duke starts? I watched a bit of the game last week and it looks like Kelly and one of the Plumlee brothers are the only white starters.

Yeah, it looks a little down this year. I've seen either both Plumlees(Miles/Mason), starting and or one Plumlee and Kelly. I haven't seen any more than two on the court at any one time. I thought Alex Murphy may make an impact, but I haven't seen him all year!

The third Plumlee, Marshall, may red shirt or it may be Murphy to red shirt?

In Saturday's game Louisville's Kyle Kuric led the team with 17 points!

I was switching to the Notre Dame-Missouri game during commercials of the New England game. Notre Dame was blown out and I believe they started three whites though I didn't watch the game from the beginning. As you stated, they didn't have three whites on the floor virtually the entire game. The announcers kept saying how Missouri, which had five blacks on the floor most of the game, was just too quick for Notre Dame.

It was more than Missouri having a very good shooting night.. Notre Dame DID play horribly and were non-existant on DEFENSE.

Many teams just aren't gelled now, being it's so early in the season, so there's no need to go overboard, but I'm not high on Scott Martin or Abromaitis. I still think Jack Cooley has potential, but the refs like to "job" him.

I didn't forget to talk about their blacks.. Joey Brooks, whose been there for a few year's now, appears to be ordinary. I would like to see Notre Dame develop a competent inside/outside game and gain much-needed toughness.

Michigan is a really good team to cheer for this year too. They have a healthy number of white players on their team, and they have between 2-3 whites on the floor at all times. They use four white players in their main rotation, Stu Douglass, Evan Smotrycz, Zack Novak, and Matt Vogrich. One other also gets a little bit of time, Blake McLimans.
