Here's an up-and-coming sumo for you guys. This fatso is 6'11" and weighs a fifth of a ton. But I'm sure that he's athletic

Id say the only way to get that guy to run is by putting a buffet table in the endzone.

| I'm angry because this lack of discipline is offensive, and it goes beyond sports. Guys like this often -- not always, but often -- lack the discipline to live their life the right way. Haynesworth stomped on a player's unprotected head in 2006, opening a 30-stitch gash in Dallas Cowboys center Andre Gurode's face. After eating his way out of the NBA, Oliver Miller was kicked off the Harlem Globetrotters for having no discipline and then, earlier this year, was expelled from a minor-league basketball game after running into the stands to confront a fan. Nate Newton had no willpower as a 360-pound lineman with Dallas, then was caught with 175 pounds of marijuana in his car. And there's John Daly, who has diluted his world-class talent for golf with his no-class tendencies toward food, alcohol, cigarettes and women. |
The obligatory White is present, of course, but this is pretty good writing here. Discipline is largely the product of mental prowess, so, if you lack discipline, it's likely the result of having a dull-mind.
If he were to add the "extreme AA" to this discussion, everything would have been tied in nicely. It's clear that most of the sumos' are blacks/Polys. |
There's something I find interesting.. In the article, he mentions the passing of "Dinner Bell" Mel (suicide) and Kevin Duckworth, two basketball players, but he fails to mention the recent passing of (DT) Norman Hand and also Chris Mims (obscure name, I'll give you that, but he was a 1st Round Pick).
Both basketball players were in their 40s when they passed, but both football linemen were under-40 when their hearts gave out. It's not just the jiggling rolls of fat that make these sumo lineman look "unhealthy," but it's the knowledge that these guys have been eating an abundance of greasy foods since they were children.
Something else... With the passing of Harry Galbreath and Chris Mims, those are two former Tennessee Vols' players right there, and Norman Hand went to Ole Miss. And, looking at the other original sumos, it's clear that the "sumo movement" started in the South, for sure, but, these days, there's no shortage of super-obese blacks in the North, either. If Mims or Hand were ON NFL rosters when they passed, YOU KNOW it would have gotten much more scrutiny, but, as it stands now, it's like "someone has sent it down the memory hole."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Norman_Hand
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chris_Mims
With all of the facts, one can really lay-down the gauntlet, and the anti-sumo message could really resonate. Doyle, if you're reading this, did you just forget about these linemen's deaths? One was a 1st Rounder, and the other, Hand, started every game he played in, except 28, in his career. I remember when he was with the Saints. I always thought his last name was "odd."

During the Dolphins-Jaguars game, Bob Griese noted that in 1970 there was only one player in the NFL that weighed over 300 pounds, while there are currently 530 players in training camp who are over 300.
Someone else in the booth (Nat Moore?) then immediately made the nonsensical but obligatory statement, "That just goes to show that today's players are bigger, faster and stronger." Uh, no it doesn't. What it shows is that the NFL is filled with fatties, just as obesity in U.S. society has become much more common over the past four decades.

The NFL wants bigger and bigger players. That would be okay if these guys were in shape but we all know they aren't. White center Greg Eslinger came into the league at around 285lbs and was told he needed to bulk up.

Did you all see how fat (the Cardinals) Levi Brown has gotten?
To me, he wasn't really a sumo when he came to the NFL from Penn State, and I think he was listed at 305 or so. Now, on ESPN, he's listed at 324 pounds, but I personally think he's carrying at least 330!
The announcers were shocked that the "heavy" Arizona line was unimpressive and uninspiring! Brandon Keith, Lutui and Levi Brown must be "eating buddies"... a pathetic bunch.

Another good example of a sumo DT that's "just taking up space."

He's from the "SEC" - though... I have to admit that I do make a habit of watching some coal-black SEC games (simply to reinforce how grossly-overrated most of them are), and it simply astonishes me how obese so many of these blacks are, not just on the line, but at RB and LB as well.

More Poly worship!
As Oregon State prepares for its 2010 season opener against TCU on Sept. 4, Paea is currently NFLDraftScout.com's No. 2-rated senior defensive tackle and is projected to be a first- or early second-round pick next April. The No. 1-rated defensive tackle on NDS' rankings is North Carolina's Marvin Austin. That could change rather quickly, and Paea could take over the top spot, as Austin faces a possible suspension stemming from an NCAA investigation over improper benefits.
Suspension or no suspension for Austin, there are scouts who believe Paea is the best interior defensive lineman in the country. The numbers that he has produced at OSU over the past two years on the field and in the weight room (550-pound bench press) have one longtime scout raving.

The numbers haven't even been special!! From my observations, the Poly DTs tend to "play harder" than the affletes, but many are still overrated and benefit from the Caste System... Marvin Austin, though, is a scrub with ZERO endurance.
White men are superior.

I figured that I'd just put this bit of news in this thread..
UNC suspends DT Austin indefinitely for violating team rules

"Indefinitely" probably means only a few games...
